  1. Adelaide don't owe us anything. Screw them, screw the Eagles and screw the MFC, they sure as hell screwed my weekend....royally
  2. Just watched the replay...senses dulled with a G&T.... and I have to say Gawn, Brayshaw & Harmes probably had their worst ever games. Take Hogan out with injury and we were essentially playing 4 men short. Max Gawn needs a rocket so badly, not even able to beat Taylor Adams in an aerial contest in the last quarter. His ruck work was ineffectual all day. An embarrassing effort all-round. Kudos to Jordan Lewis, played very well. Our tackling coach needs to be shown the door. Poor tackling and failing to fully capitalise on our dominant start to the 2nd quarter cost us the game... and a spot in the finals. Think I'll grab another G&T. It's 12:22 am so I guess it's Mad Monday!!!
  3. Disagree with the bit in bold. Keep the leaders away, lest they Melbournise our up and coming stars any more than they already have.
  4. i remember the other year when Lynden Dunn placed in the top 5 of the Bluey and gave a heartfelt speech. I thought here's someone who bleeds red and blue. Fast forward a year or two and he's out of the coach's favour and traded away. Yeah, fair to say I couldn't GAF about this either. They're all just cattle. and we're just sheep.
  5. I think the ordinary end to our year is due to a combination of the taxing game style and the Melbournisation of our leaders (N Jones, T Mac, now Gawn by the looks of it too), the holy grail is something for other clubs to play for, not us. I think we do need to bring in another Lewis/Sam Mitchell type or 2 from a successful club next season and push our Melbournised leaders to the role of foot soldiers or followers, they have no idea how to handle the extreme pressure at the pointy end of the season. On top of this, I think opposition coaches worked out Goodwin's tsunami game plan and have nullified it. Max Gawn stinking it up since he came back into the team hasn't helped at all. I reckon as an opposition coach you would love seeing players like ANB, Hunt, Harmes, TMac, and Tyson with the ball in their hands as it means you've got a 50/50 chance of getting it back from a turnover. We have far too many butchers and VFL grade players.
  6. not quite, just done some % calculations and here's the equation: If Eagles score <70 , Melbourne make it the Eagles win by 18 points or less If they score between 70-90, Melbourne make it if Eagels win by 19 points or less Score 90-110, we make it if they win by 20 points or less Score over about 115, we're in if the Eagles win by 21 points or less Bernie not kicking that goal at the death may well cost us a spot in this years finals!
  7. No injuries, no stupid suspensions please...oh and a 10 goal coasting win would be nice.
  8. agree on Kent, but I think Hogan might get shopped around this year, rather than Watts.
  9. Buckley is a [censored] saying that's the perfect tackle, sooner this rubbish is eliminated from the sport the better. Grundy deserves to go for 3 weeks, and Mumford should go for at least one week for his dangerous tackle on Maynard. Eliminate the thugs!!!
  10. Didnt think I'd be writing these words again any time soon, but it's time to shuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic....yet again ?
  11. I can't see another win this season, seriously, I'm not even confident we can best the bears at home. The group is spent.
  12. Oh well, look on the bright side, at least we can go back to being everyone's second team again.
  13. We won't kick 8 goals for the rest of the game let alone with the wind this quarter to get back in it. GWS had a bruise free game last week, we're flat and carrying sore bodies. I'm calling a 80+ point loss and season over.
  14. That is an imposing looking port team on every line, wish I had the confidence of some of you on here but I think there's just too many coming in for the Dees off long lay offs. Bound to be rusty. I foresee a 5 goal loss ?
  15. Our ball handling has been rubbish in the first half so if it gets feature good help us.
  16. Having watched the replay, Hannan had a bloody terrific game. I'd love to see his metres gained stat. He's been a revelation this season.
  17. Adelaide are going in way too tall. Conditions will suit ground ball players, I'm thinking we're in with a big shot at this now.
  18. BT is a commentator for the neutral fan with nothing invested in the outcome of the game. I can't stomach him when so much is at stake like the last two weeks. He makes you want to throw things at the tellie.
