Probably the response to the woman shouting out "hey anyone seen Jack Watts' heart? Its out on the ground somewhere...."
-
And there has been 1 Judd in 150 years. Whats your point?
-
Had forgotten that, But I bet PJ hasn't. Hmmm Mitch Clark...... And maybe the PP ploy is to ensure we get a decent comp pcil for Frawley.... Nothing is as it seems...
-
We have been farked for 7 yrs. They played in a GF in 2010. No difference there is there.

Its 67% against. 33% for. Thats two to one against. hardly an endorsement

Patrick Smith thinks we should get one... http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/afl-must-bury-demons-by-moving-melbourne-out-of-the-mire-of-mediocrity/story-fnca0u4y-1227029891115

Yeah lets inject another 8 18yos and we'll turn around really quickly.

We just don't run anywhere hard enough for an AFL team. Fix that and we fix about 60-70% of the problems Its like tackling - its a mind game. You can do the lilly livered wet cabbage slaps like Watts or you can do the pile driving smash their heads back into the turf like Riley. Its in the mind.

We may have had a lot of draft picks but we are not alone. The issue for us is that a good deal of them haven't worked out and the pool of talent is diminished because of the xpansion clubs. We have not been able to replace those picks with talent. So we are getting killed twice. Once because the pool was bare to begin with, twice because we can't replenish.

This kind of post I find pathetically simplistic. How about we get 5 Friday night games. We deserve them. How about we get blockbuster games, We deserve them. How about we get a decent stadium deal like Geelong that makes $750k with 20000 at the ground. We deserve it. We deserve as much as the other 17 teams in the comp. Its as simple as that. If you are going to have equalisation policies then make everything equal. Its not a level playing field. Stop acting like it is. Until the playing field is actually level then inequities will exist. Stop perpetuating the 'we are the only one who gets handout' myths. The whole AFL is handout based. Its just not equal.

We're off to west coast....

Petracca doesn't excite me from the videos. Don't get me wrong all the videos of draftees look good but there doesn't seem anything too special for mine. Anyone seen him in the flesh that rates him highly?

RFPC has answered it but it is more a practical consideration. You can do it. But it would be extremely disruptive and a case of diminishing returns you would think. Oh and clubs manage it so that roughly 1/3 of the list come out of contract every year.

Could probably add a few more!

Please don't turn this into a politics thread. The ACC are already on record as saying they had no evidence that would have necessetated a press conference the way it was conducted. In fact no evidence of any actual law breaking. And while we are all waiting for the result of the ASAD probe it is blindingly obvious the press conference was political...not sure why you can't see that. -
Watts Frawley Byrnes Clark McKenzie Clisby Blease Strauss Nicholson Evans Tapscott Jamar Bail Jones M Terlich Fitzpatrick Thats 16

There is no heart in this team. No leaders that can drag other players with them. Jonesey for all his heart can't do it. Grimes cant do it. Dawes, Vince and Cross can't do it. There is no one there directing traffic (although watts does a good job at finger pointing!) setting up zones, screaming at players where to run, who to pick up. Its a malaise. And when you get blokes like Kent burning a lead to selfishly kick at goal (only to hit the post) it reinformces the non-team ethic we have, Roos is not telling them to play like this so the only thing to do is F&**() off the players that refuse to do what we need. Unfortunately we only get a chance to delist 1/3 of our team each year and for us its not enough. We need to delist or trade at least 15. Thats where we need assistance.

Exactly

If anyone didn't think this club was cursed (aside from our drafting and injuries) have a look at: Neale Daniher Dean Bailey Jim Stynes Sean Wight We have pizzed off someone upstairs bigtime..

I wish neeld never spoke after a match

Yeah but we are losing a top quality player. Its different to a PP. Its compo for a loss. The other element at play here is free agency. We have probably lost the most via FA and are likely to continue that trend this year. The AFL should be worried about this.

The rest of the competition can bleat all they want but the reality is: 1. we are possibly the worst team to have ever played 2. we have lost top end talent through no fault of our own 3. we bottomed out at a bad time 4. we have financial issues because the draw is so rigged and the stadium deals are appalling and uneven we have chosen top picks that have not worked (for whatever reason) - this seems to be the main point of the 'do not give them a pick' camp. FFS we even had that moron Craig Hutchison suggesting an external committee should select any draft pick because we were so useless. 5.we have had seven coaches in 7 yrs 6. Our admin was terrible 7. we should have received a pick last year 8. we were [censored] over by the Kruezer Cup and the tanking investigation 9 Our leadership on-field sucks big time and we are particularly weak in the 25-30 age group which means we can't effectively develop players The argument against a PP runs: 1. they have had too many picks that they have wasted (aside from Cook, Gysberts, Maric, Tapscott, Strauss I'm not sure the others are directly our fault). 2. Its their own fault they deserve to wallow at the bottom. 3. they have had too many handouts These arguments are fallacious and reflect the fact the comp doesn't want to give a sucker a break. Its a competition and they are happy for us to fold. So if don't want us out of the competition (which might be a possibilty) there are only a couple of realistic options: Let us stink around the bottom for the next 4 years. Allow us to trade vigorously - up to 15 players need to be turned over IMO Give us picks to trade with. We have some adults in charge with good track records and importnatly the AFL trust them. The AFL don't have a lot of choice. In the past 10 years: Carlton has had four PPicks: Walker, Kruezer, Hampson and Murphy We have had 2: Scully and Blease Why are we pilloried when Carlton won 3 spoons in a row?? Why did they give PPs to Carlton yet won't give one to us?
