Post Match Discussion - Round 12 (never in doubt)
jnrmac replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought that was Enright,,, -
You mean Watts Lynden Dunn?
-
Which coach is which? Roos doesn't rate ruckmen generally so maybe the second one is him?
-
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere.... Thought the numbers were pretty interesting....in particular Viney and Gawn,, Geelong vs Melbourne 8 Vince (Melb) 8 Viney (Melb) 6 Dunn (Melb) 3 Gawn (Melb) 3 N. Jones (Melb) 2 Motlop (Geel)

My kids love Bernie. It's great to have some players that the kids can get excited about. Its been a hard few years keeping the kids interested and its super important we continue to improve....The younger players coming through are just as exciting and the kids are over the moon.

Very disresepctful to their 'champion'.... -
Can we play them every week down there now?
-
If we beat the Cats today I will ....

Ouch -
Its more likely because he is the only one to run into the forward line....

300th game for Enright? You think they might want to pummel the Dees again for old time sake?
-
If you were dressed like your avatar, maybe they were just scared and saying something to make you go away.

Possibly true. The only way that would have occurred is if ASADA turned up and demanded records. Do they have the ability/legal right to do that? The assumption would be that the 'authorities' had the right to walk into the club unannounced and demand records, computers etc,. Frankly I highly doubt that. And if the club wanted to hide/lose the records in that scenario I am sure that would have happened. If for example, worksafe turned up at my office and demanded records etc and I had been doing the same dodgy stuff that the EFC was doing then I would immediately call the lawyers and go to court challenging their right to access that information. You will find when legislation is drafted for these kind of things that there are loopholes everywhere, poor drafting of wording etc etc. All challengeable by a competent lawyer. I am not sure it is as open and shut as you might think. I don't think there is any doubt that AD would have had the 'How do I protect the AFL' hat on and a lot of the assumptions are in hindsight. From what we have read this saga moved pretty quickly over a couple of days and not many would have been thinking straight or with long term ramifications etc...

I have written this before but CBF finding it. WHo cares what Demetriou said? It was an open secret that Essendon were taking peptides. Gerard Healy is on records saying that he rang the AFL to tell them. The fact they had 24 soft tissue injuries is a tell-sign or HGH use. Dank had form had GC at Geelong and his reputation were well known.. Carlton had phoned the AFL to complain about what the EFC players had been taking as they had grown enormously over a summer and physically smashed the Blues in a game. Let's just say its true. That AD rang Evans and said " the govt is about to disclose the EFC as drug takers" etc. So what? It is all the same [censored] that has been going on for nearly 3 yrs. What did the players take? Why don't you have records? Why does anybody accept for a minute Doc Reids self serving letter that he tried to warn the club (and that mysteriously disappeared until after the jig was up??) What was Bomba Thompson doing letting this regime go on? He was the 'experienced' coach overseeing Hird and the regimine. What were Danny Corcoran and Robson doing? What were the club board doing? Its a farce. It wasn't the AFL that injected players. As for the Herald Sun, Warner, Le Grand etc it is now on record as to who they are cheerleading for. NOt that we didn't already know here. Goodbye impartiality. Goodbye reasoning. Goodbye concern for 34 young men (some not so young) that should have known better. It is still no believable that not one player spoke to a parent or doctor or friend and who raised the concern with the club or who checked what substances they were being given, The whole club should go and the staff and Directors should be banned for life.

One was because Essendon got banned. Hardly done on their own merits.

Those comments are misguided, wrong and frankly should be banished from this site. Our supporters should know better. It is not an equal competition. Geelong make $750k from a crowd of 20k at their home ground. We lose money with 20k at the MCG. We don't have corporate box revenue, signage etc etc. The fixture is full of compromises with ANZAC day, Derby's, clashes of traditional rivals, friday night games, QB games, twilight games, broadcast times etc etc. Teams get dudded and we are one of those. We play Richmond at Etihad in the past. and have played Geelong once at the MCG in around 11 years from memory. We usually play Essendon at eth G as an Essendon home game. When we draw against a decent Melbourne club we get good crowds so the argument about us not drawing crowds in franky [censored]. The AFL has a draft and salary cap which goes part of the way to making the competition even but WCE and COllingwood spend $300k A WEEK more than us on their football departments and its because of the situations outlined above. This is partly why there is an equalisation fund. FOr our own supporters let alone ignorant opposition supporters and media to spout that Melbourne, North , Bulldogs etc are getting handouts is infuriating. Stadium deals and fixturing are killing the game and the clubs. The clubs collectively are massively in debt with I think only 3, in surplus. Those that are getting Equalisation funds are not being fully compensated for the rorts that are going on elsewhere. Yet ignorant media and opposition supporters claim that they are 'supporting' weaker clubs etc. The AFL need 18 clubs. If you didn't have them the broadcast deal would be reduced heavily. We are not a team on welfare but a founding memeber of the competition that has been dudded on a number of fronts and that his kicked a number of own-goals as well. The more people start to recognise that the better, and the more that campaign for equal treatment will see us competing on an even footing.

Plowman has averaged 9 disposals 3 marks and 2 tackles in 18 games. Aside from his low stats, hasn't shown anything from what I have seen.
-
Roos doesn't know how to use the sub.....
-
And Hird was across ALL of it. "Bring the good stuff we are playing Carlton this week" CHeating scum should be banned for life.
-
Why is no-one talking Collingwood getting a team sanction? The media are being wilfully blind.....
-
Lance?? Hello??
-
Well he did say last week they don't listen.....
-
Roos doesn't have clue how to use the sub rule effectively.
-
Take your positivity and shove it. We were awful. Even if we had won it was nothing to be happy or proud of.
-
What has happened to Lynden Dunn? OMG he is 1/3 of the player he was last year.
-
Well Bing The coach thinks they lost because of the coach. How do you like them apples?
