Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...
jnrmac replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure if you had noticed we had beaten them twice this year AND have their last coach as one of our assistants. To lose by 98 points is an absolute disgrace and back to the Neeld dark ages. I don't think our improvement is as cut and dried as you say (ie: we have won 2 more games). And Roos' match day coaching has been highly questionable. I still don't know what our game plan is. We supposedly sorted out our defence last year yet after 20 rounds we have had 1781 pts kicked against us compared to last year 1614 points. Is that improvement? Is there any consistency there? Yes, we have kicked 200pts more and you could argue that Garlett and Hogan are largely responsible for that (having kicked 487pts between them). Players still don't know how to play whatever game plan we are supposed to be playing. I'd be pretty sure Roos isn't telling em to play the way they played on the weekend so you'd have to say there is something lost in the message. That is largely the coaches fault however you look at it. -

Tosh The dogs have had to contend with worse in the past 3 yrs. We were leading in the last qtr in at least 8 games last year. Its not a stretch to win 6 this year. You are too soft on Roos. The consultant isn't getting the best out of the players by a big margin. But the inconsistency is the killer. And the lack of a cohesive modern game plan. -

He's worried about his retirement fund. $1.7m clearly ain't enough on top of his 28y playing and coaching career... -
I have posted numerous times about him. He is the worst umpire by the length of the flemington straight

Don't believe it for a minute. And who is asking for a short term fix? It's been 9 far king seasons. I am asking for people to get angry and demand more from our so called leaders. Let the players know hat is is unacceptable instead of the "side is tired so we'll give them a few days off midweek"

No wonder you call yourself Bimbo. Last year we led in the last quarter in around 12 games. We apparently didn't know how to finish and it was something to do with fitness. This year we expected that we would be more consistent but still have occasional lapses. We are anything but consistent. We have won 2 more games than last year but this was absolutely expected and frankly we should give it away if we can't improve on 4 wins.. Bulldogs have improved. West Coast have improved. St Kilda have improved,. Richmond have improved. Have we improved? Marginally, at best. We are a psychotic team that has a game plan that is clearly too hard for these simpletons. The coach has to take some heat for these pathetic performances. How can you go and get blown away in the first quarter this week and last. Where is the preparation? WTF do they do during the week? The best game they played the players themselves prepared during the week so what does that say about the coaches???? How can you leave Oxley on his own to take 14 marks in defence, 8 intercepts. How is it we leave a spare opp'n player in defence and get whipped. I am not seeing any improvement in coaching. I am seeing some individuals improve. But I am not seeing an improvement in effort and running and skills and decision making. Its laughable. -
This is the Bulldogs. A team that lost: Their Captain Their CEO Their Coach Their leading midfielder with a season ending injury Shaun Higgins a 30 goal fwd Their longest serving player, Gia No-one wanted to go there, no-one wanted to coach. They were a basket case. Half the players in their team I didn't even recognise their names. What they have done this year is extraordinary. For posters on here to say 'well its the Bullies and they are well ahead of us' and somehow justify this loss as being part of learning curve is simply insane. Why can't we be like that? Why don't we demand that our team performs like that? How is it that Alastair Clarkson assistant coaches can move to clubs and instantly invoke a strong system based style of play? (Wait til Carlton does it under Bolton) Why do we acccept such putrid mediocrity? Why isn't Roos being questioned more? He is not above criticism and for mine he deserves a pasting for the tripe that has at times been dished up this year. This club has got to get tougher at demanding excellence. Yes its partly the cattle but system based football doesn't depend on cattle. Its about effort, running and pressure. I fail to see how some posters can let Roos off with these club killing performances.

That is simply not right. Against the Saints we had 7 frees for holding the ball paid against us in the first qtr and a half. 12 for the match. By definition we were first to the ball.
-
Yep I missed that, But here's a tip , if you are going to have a go at other posters best you get your facts right. Grimes played over a half as he came into the game in the 2nd qtr when Jetta went off to hospital. Nitwit
-
Stay there. You don't want to know.
-
So our star studded backline got: Lumumba 37 dreamteam pts Dunn 39 Garland 43 Grimes 45 Howe 58 Disgraceful, dumb, soft, inept, insipid and frankly useless. McDonald got 126 but caused at least 4 direct goals. 8 goal 1st qtr 10 goal last qtr Its back to square 1 for this bunch of soft hacks. Clean out coming. Lumumba has to be dropped. Cant carry on like this without some consequence.
-
Oh and if I ever see umpire 28 in the street I swear I will hit him. We have had him in over half our games and there isn't a worse umpire available.
-
So at half time we have Lumumba 5 disposals Howe 5 Dunn 5 Garlett 5 Bail 5 Viney 5 Lumumba is officially a bust Viney has had a shocker against Wallis McDonald has had his worst ever game. I stopped watching after his umpteenth mistake cost us his 3rd goal Dunn is putrid Howe is gone We have no leadership. We play dumb football. We refuse to run. We stand 7-10m off our man. We have no midfield.
-
3 direct goals from his mistakes. and that is just the 1st quarter. why do our players play 10m off their man? insane
-
What a load of crap. IF they did tank, and its a big if in my book it was at best for 5-6 games. What you have forgotten is we were a pizz poor side. Tanking assumes we could have won and chose to lose.
-
Last 5 times we have played them in real games (ie not pre season) we have won two and not lots by more than 20 (6, 16 and 20). We should go OK today.

"Essendon great Matthew Lloyd has declared the limping Bombers "disjointed on and off the field" and says James Hird will be questioning his own future after another dark day for the once mighty club." Gee, who is Hirdy going to blame now? The media conspiracy? Demetriou? The AFL? ASADA? WADA? The Supreme Court? Bomba Thompson? Its a fantastic train crash in slow motion. Hird, the gift that keeps giving. And those delusional EFC supporters keep standing by as he and the EFC Directors trash their once proud club.

Brisbane Lions Consider Asking for Priority Picks

Best you keep your political bull shite out of this site -
Not carrying any extra weight in that insta video...

yawn,,,,how pathetic. Watts prior to this year was a bust,. Has always been an elite user of the ball but zero apetite for the contest. Great to see he is finally getting it together but previous criticism around the area above is absolutely warranted.

Extroadinarily ignorant post in all respects. When Jamar was injured and we played him in the 1st ruck he was outstanding for 12 games from memory. Problem was that we tried to play him as a fwd , as a back, as a resting ruckman and he wasn't good. Brisbane tried the same thing until Leuenberger went down and then played Stef in the 1st ruck. Has been outstanding and with Todd Goldstein the 2 best rucks in the comp.

Brisbane Lions Consider Asking for Priority Picks

Leuenberger averages 12 kicks 3 marks and 22.9 hitouts. Wouldn't be in their highest paid players. Best ever finishes in B&F 6th in 2011 and 2013 playing 22 games. 9th in 2010. Deserves an end of second round pick at best. -
This site makes me laugh. You ppl wouldn't have a clue how the club is managing a list nor what players are getting paid andthe relativities with others. Then there are the bonuses such as B&F finsihes, brownlow votes, games played etc etc. There is a budgeted increase in 2016 when the new TV rights deal is set etc etc, But hey if you wouldn't pay him more than $550k then I guess he'll walk....

That's great cos we only have 6 in a game...
