Tim Watson hates Melbourne. He is a massive fl*g. Watched rd 1 game v Geelong last night and he was getting stuck into us at every opportunity whilst salivating over Selwood and Ablett.

Watched the second half of round 1 last night. We are a vastly better side than that. Wagner - aside from that magnificent tackle on Selwood that nearly broke his leg - was poor. As was Maynard. Hunt looked pretty good. We should have won that game no doubt - not just because of Max's miss. Guys like Melksham and Hannan weren't great and Oliver has improved a lot since then. Salem was average as was Garlett. Lost count of the marks that Pederson dropped. What Geelong did well was control the footy with short kicks. They smashed us in number of marks and really controlled the tempo of the game. They were down on rotations with Taylor out early with an ankle. Hawkins was poor and Menzel had a day out (altho he missed a sitter from 12m in the last) We can win this and really make a statement to the comp.. Dees by 17

2002 Rd 18 against Norf they lost by 64pts..... only 10 goal loss at home on the past 16 years....

Seems like a good, considered user of the ball...

Hmmmm I am thinking Bugg to run with Selwood.......has the endurance, speed and strength...and it would free up our other mids from a tagging role.

Things I don't want to see: The Dogs stacking their backline and running it out at will via the flanks. Coll, Port, St K and Haw did that.... Stop that happening and we win.

It hasn't really been the focus of much attention but the big change was the weeks rest before the finals. Now any team in the 8 can get a rest and put together a good September to win the flag. This is a major game changer altho the data sample is pretty small. I suspect this fact has made much of the previous finals analysis redundant.

Spot of luck but this hasn't really worked in our favour too well in the past...(except maybe for Fyffe and Sandilands...)

The majority of you are completely misrepresenting what Carey said. He said basically that: - draft picks are no good for Carlton. They have had plenty of no 1 picks and they are still where they are. And when Murphy, Kruezer and others retire these draft picks will be thrown to the wolves. - They would be better trading the pick 1 for a bunch of ready made players that can have an immediate impact and protect the likes of Curnow, McKay, etc He used an example of Melbourne which perhaps wasn't the best saying Tyson, Frost and Bugg weren't getting games and could be a potential swap but other than that it's a completely logical solution to their mess if any club would do it.

What other explanation is there? There's no logic behind it...
