  2. All valid points
  3. Maybe not in the back but someone has been feeding him pretty correct info.....
  4. Viney now saying Rd 8 v Gold Coast is his target https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/demons-star-viney-sets-afl-return-date-20180502-p4zctu.html
  5. Yeah because the Demons have had so many AAs in their history....
  6. This is just false. No-one said he was a dud and the orginal post was in response to the hyperbole that OMcD "never panics", "will be a gorilla", "will be better than Rance" and said it was "harsh" that he couldn't stop a ball below his knees because it is "oval shaped". If you think the clip above is good defending then it really says it all. He was the last man in the zone and his job is to stop exactly the situation in the clip. He let Smith get goal side and then looked like he was trying to slap him with a wet lettuce. He has a lot of learning to do.
  7. He made 3 errors if you read my previous post. And you would know more than Lyon and Dunstall? You are a joke, So you are now saying that a player doesn't have to tackle or chase someone if it isn't his man? I have heard everything. 'sorry, not my man, I'll just put in some lame-arsed effort and no one will notice"
  8. You are now being ridiculous Binperson. Even the three commentators including Lyon and Dunstall spoke of how poor he was in that contest. And how poor of him it was that he let Smith run into an open goal. He is a defender FFS. At worst he should have held Smith up and made him kick the goal. If you cant see what OmcD did wrong in that clip then you are sadly delusional and unbelievably biased.
  9. A bigger howler from @farmer that refuses to see it....
  10. Aside from the fact you need to go to Specsavers there are three things wrong with this. 1. Oscar is the last man in defence and he let a player get goal side of him 2. He fails to spoil and places places no physical pressure on Smith 3. He lets Smith run into an open goal
  11. Thx mrs Tyson....
  12. Honestly this is just pure rubbish, He has had a really good start to the year, no question but have a look at the forst foray Essendon made into its fwd line where he loses the one on one and then allows his man to run off the mark into an open goal as an example. He is learning and improving but you are trying to make him sound like Mathew Scarlett and Stephen Silvagni rolled into one.
  13. This could be the worst timed post of the year....
  14. "This is what we do up in Albury to blokes that have man buns!"
  15. Fritsch is too old by 3 weeks. Must be under 21 on 1 January of the year.
  16. Dion J congratulating Spargo was good. Hopefully he gets a rocket that Spargs got a game before him.....
  17. Age is a bulldust excuse except for maybe tiring late in the season.
  18. This is overated. The Kennel was a mess: lost their coach, captain, CEO and a few others in a short space of time. No one wanted to be there. Beveridge turned it around very quickly but the reality is they made the finals and had a fantastic September. Have been ordinary since then. This talk of 'McCartney being the genius behind the dog's flag' is rubbish. Yes he takes credit for developing some of their junior players but he was not liked down there and couldn't get them winning regularly. The raps on him at Melbourne have been good but maybe there is some friction there with Goody seeing him interfering beyond his role. Or maybe things were simply working better when McC was on the bench. Who knows? But what I do know is I hate seeing our name in the press for this stuff. It reeks of disharmony and when added to the pre-season camp stuff, that should NEVER have gone outside and should have been handled in-house, it worries me that things aren't rosy. Then when you see clear disfunction on the field it starts to smell more....
  19. Yes lets wait for Saty.... oh hang on...
  20. Oscar came equal 18th in the B&F with Pederson and played 5 more games. The talk on here about Oscar improving out of sight and being our key defender is hilarious. He has played OK this year and hasn't disgraced himself at all but he is still a deer in the headlights, has little or no physical presence or awareness, cannot compete one on one, is slow with the turning circle of the titanic and rarely impacts a contest. His disposal is pretty good and that is about his best trait. Yes he is developing and that is great. As a melbourne supporter I want him to succeed but it will be a long slow process at this rate.
  21. You misunderstand what STMJ said. He said there is a reason some players draw ire from supporters. It doesn't come from thin air. Are you seriously trying to compare Lever with Oscar because they are the same age? I have heard everything. And BTW , Watts was well over 22, so was Jamie Bennell when he was a whipping boy as you call it.
  22. Its not him who we need to worry about. Its the ANBs, Buggs, Kents, Garletts, Fritsch, Melkshams and Hannans of our team. We need Jeffy to kick his bag of 40 and the rest 15 to 25 each. Add our mids kicking 8 to 10 each and we have a potent team.
