Farewell Jesse Hogan
Agreed and FWIW I think It's all bunk. He stays.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
You miss the point. For a start he pays tax at 49% and he pays a management company min of 2.5%. No one is dangling a $5m cheque. And Melbourne will negotiate a decent offer - that may not match another offer but would minimise the difference again to, say $100k a year after tax. Then there are the intangibles.............

Everyone needs to chill. He hasn't met with the club yet. It's all clickbait at this point

He will not have a $5m cheque put in front of him. Don't over-egg the pudding.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
This is one of 2 key issues. 1. The club receiving the player loses nothing except salary cap space. 2. The club losing the player - often a bottom club - receives a compo pick if its a RFA - but that gets them another junior. Maybe they need as well extra list space to recruit an older play a la Hodge or Lewis... Heard Hocking on the radio talking about PPicks and he said they are a 'sugar hit'. Said to look at the rebuild at melbourne as to how to handle it. A 'whole of club' approach. It looks like the new blueprint...

Jayden Hunt
I reckon he has slowed a little as he has bulked up in the hips/glutes. Aaron Davey I recall one year coming back from a big pre season in the gym and was noticeably bulkier and slower.

This thread is stupid. Jesse loves Melbourne. And for all those saying the fwd line is functioning better without jesse you are missing the fact that we are playing differently since he has been out. Much more one on one, more composure delivering the ball into the fwd 50 (The elimination final was not a good example!) and much better pressure from everyone to keep the ball in there. Jesse is a solid 40 goal plus fwd and you don't get rid of them because an 18 gamer has a good game.

Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
I posted a while back that our 3rd qtr stats are outstanding. The number 1 team for the year. That says to me the coaching staff are able to make the necessary changes, reinforce the messages, get the team back on track if needed or counteract the opposition moves. That is a very good sign that the coaches can identify what needs to be done and impart the right messages and moves. It also seems that we have tightened up measurably since the Sydney game to mostly one on one footy - none of the no wings, or 2 behind the square for the bounce etc.
