Craig Jennings Gone at Seasons End
I never said it did. You're good at presuming for other posters. It is clearly a reflection of the disfunction/failure of our present coaching set up - against what many of the happy clappers have been saying. I think I have worked out what camp you're in.

Drop off of midfield and time in forward half dominance

The problem is that the "bees to the honeypot" has been going on for 2 years. Everyone knows it. We get the ball we get tackled. They get the ball to the outside and its off to the races. It's not rocket science - it's coaching pure and simple. Its structure and discipline. The whole game is structure and discipline. We look lost. The players haven't a clue where to run, where to stand, when to kick , where to kick etc. When a player is actually instructed to stand like Jones was on the weekend, the players must think WTF?? Nothing to do with injuries. Its about having a plan that the 40 players can understand and execute. Most clubs do it pretty well yet some here think Goodwin is the messiah and give him a free pass. We need to be angry at what he has done to our team. And now its 'imploding' with McCartney, Jennings and others going.- Craig Jennings Gone at Seasons End
Jennings gone McCartney gone Rawlings brought back Plapp de-emphasised. Chapman hopeless. But Goody's the man.- Roos: Lazy Dees

That can't be right....Its all the surgeries we had over summer....Goody told us.... Some people can't see the nose on their face. So Jennings and Mccartney both gone. Chapman should go and so should Plapp. If we can't get rid of Goodwin we need to get decent assistants pronto.- Roos: Lazy Dees
I could believe it. We have seen it all year. Dumb lazy footballers who look totally lost It's a coaching and leadership issue full stop.- POSTMATCH: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
- Its the captain stupid
At this point, on field leadership is second on the list to the coaching panel of things that need rectifying- POSTMATCH: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
- Is the pre-season camp debacle still relevant?
Just like when Schwab and Connolly supposedly conspired not to play players who were on game incentives in order to save money.....players not happy...- Get Roos
Yze has been at Hawthorn since the 2014 season. 6 yrs under the best coach of the last 50 years. He'd be a great get.- Get Roos
Did he eat his scarf in frustration?- POSTMATCH: Rd 21 vs Collingwood

A club with decent leaders would never have this happen. That the players felt they had to go to the PA is a complete indictment on Goodwin and our leadership group.. We are still feeling the effects because we have no leadership other than Gawn and Goodwin and his coaching staff are clueless how to fix our 'game plan'. Headless chooks the lot of them- POSTMATCH: Rd 21 vs Collingwood

This is the real danger of the shiitefest we have witnessed this year. Supporters not showing up, not buying memberships, sponsors bailing, poor TV fixtures, supporters disengaging emotionally from what is essentially an emotional investment. A few of the nufs will say 'good riddance' but we can't afford to lose a single supporter and in particualr younger supporters. This club has an incredible ability to shoot itself in the foot.- POSTMATCH: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
This Is the classic problem where players are either too scared to make the wrong decision, confused about which option to take, have lost trust in their team mates, are worried about their own stats (DE/T'OVERS) or simply don't have the right skills. Make no mistake this is a coaching and leadership issue. Goodwin and his team are devoid of answers. They are flailing in their jobs. Belatedly trying moves to rejig the team which ends up destroying any system or Morale that may be left. The year can't finish soon enough for us but sadly we are still left with the rotting carcass of an ineffectual and useless coaching panel for 2020. As for viney and Jones they should step down as captains. They have clearly failed.- The Melbourne Problem!
I think Max should be Captain next year and it really shows how devoid of leadership this club is but Viney has taken games and virtually won them by his sheer willpower. I am thinking principally of the game against West Coast in Perth 2 yrs ago where he had something like 14 possessions in the last quarter and was the reason we won (by a point). And the time he ran straight at the ball against adelaide and crashed into Alex Georgiou and the Adelaide player and came out with the ball. He has the ability to inspire but I think injuries have taken away a lot of his impact.- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs Richmond
I think plenty of us do know about it there are just some that won't acknowledge he is not AFL standard.- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs Richmond
Maybe they are trying to keep him away from the play lest he gives it straight back to the opposition....- Roos + Lyon - On The Couch
Well you were responding to my post. And your last line is probably similar to those who are making 2018 sound more than it actually was. Richmond made the prelim in 2001 by 68 points with Frawley in his second year as coach. They didn't play in finals again until 2013. Plenty of teams overrate their list and their club. Lets all hope we're not one.- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs Richmond
