CHANGES: Rd 14 vs St Kilda
It won't make a difference who we bring in if Goodwin stays like an Easter Island statue in the coaches box

POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Western Bulldogs
The backline is starting to show signs of this buut the mids and fwds are non existent. IN the 3rd when they had kicked 2 goals it should be - lockdown on them for 5 mins and regain composure - but no, our one paced game plan (flat out) just keeps doing what they have done. Bang. Another 4 goals kicked in quick time. Thats leadership right there. Yes we dont have our Captain but it should be up t the senior players to address this. Very poor.

Umpiring
1. You are allowed to move sideways. "east-west" the umps would call in the early days of this rule. What you are not allowed to do is move sideways and fwd. But it's another rule that they pick and choose when to enforce or not. 2. Yesterday there were several instances of players being pushed in the back as they kick - and a free was paid downfield. It's wrong and no one calls it out. It's akin to a 50m penalty. Total garbage. 3. Players get pushed in the back ALL the time when they are kicking - more often than not when kicking for goal - and yet the umps rarely pay it. 4. Here's one that has been consigned to the dustbin of history except against Melbourne at the worst possible time - players running past the kicker within 10m. That rule was enforced with Nazi like enthusiasm and not rarely paid. The umpires are a joke.

POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Western Bulldogs
So here's another question. We all know how the Saints will play next week. Fast breaks, stack the backline rinse and repeat We all have a pretty good idea of how to beat Melbourne But what is Goodwin actually going to do to counter that? This is where i think his weakness is. He plans for a perfect performance from our players. When it doesn't come - because they don't show up or the oppo does something diffenent - nothing happens in the box. It's very frustrating.

A lot of people make the same point here: We watch this team very closely week in week out. You can see (usually in 10-15m) whether they are "switched on" or not. Similarly with the opposition. I know what simulations they run having been in the coaches meetings and box in years gone by. They do play for all sorts of contingencies. But I never see that - well rarely - from Goodwin. Goodwin appears to refuse to acknowledge his plan is not working or that the oppo's coach is winning. I have heard it said you will never be surprised by Goodwin pon match day and I think there is a lot of truth to it. Maybe he just doesn't believe in stopping the oppos best player. But others have tried and succeeded in stopping Bont and it goes a long way to beating the Dogs. It's seriously not rocket science.

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Bulldogs
Pretty sure he won't replace a fit Melksham who was pretty effective against the pies and stopped Maynard for a large part of the game I think. Maynard is a key rebounder for the pies and had a poor game.

Tom Lynch Incident (incl. Dimma vs The Ox)
Lewis was a Swans player that tried to alert the AFL and wider community to the big drug culture amongst some in the AFL. From memory it was around the time of the 2000 season. He was ostracised by the AFL who promptly swept it under the carpet, ensured Lewis never worked in the AFL industry again and of course it led to the infamously tainted premiership of West Coast amongst others
