Trac's Last Goal
I wonder how this conversation would have gone if it was overturned and called a point. We likely would have lost the game and then.......

Scratch Match vs Collingwood 28/8/20
In the few short snippets he appeared in he was ambling around with zero intensity.

James Harmes is being wasted
In 2018 Harmes was a great tagger AND an offensive weapon.

TEAMS: Rd 14 vs St. Kilda
I honestly believe a good coach would have this team humming, We have all of the elements. The fact it has taken so long to try and fix the "connection" between the mids and fwds is telling. The fact that in critical games and marquee time slot games we fold like a cheap suit. Regardless today is really the line in the sand. Goodwin has made significant statements with selection and if we lose I think we are basically out of the race. And of that happens he should go as soon as practicable. The game today should tell us a lot. We basically have a full list, an ex-Saints coach and possibly a favourable venue. If we get smashed today I think the knives will be out and all hell will break loose.

You're assuming a lot. Maybe it's been going on for some time Harmes has not been happy playing in the backline for some time it would seem

I'm siding with these comments on harmes I hope Goodwin gets selection right this weekend. I'm worried but it's a ballsy call Almost like his future will pivot on this one game. Lose and we're most likely done and he'll look like a chump. Win and he'll look like a brilliant strategist. Why does it have to come to this tho. We have so much talent and yet the coach can't seem to get them playing consistent hard football.

I'm interested in the harmes decision. Clearly playing badly and clearly not playing the way the coach wants. It seems clear to nearly everyone here that he's not a half back and he's a better on baller/tagger But we also don't know exactly the roles/instructions he's been given What's the verdict from ppl here. A bad move by the coach or should harmes lift his game and do what the team demands or is he stiff for being played out of position?

CHANGES: Rd 14 vs St Kilda
IF the players are confused about what they should be doing then that is damning on the coaches. It may well be true but the evidence of our failures on the weekend are stark. Our midfield got beaten and our fwd line couldn't keep the ball in. The coaches know this. They see what we see, with better experience and better stats plus they know what players are trying to do. But they seem powerless to stop it; or, simply refuse to make any meaningful changes to alter the outcomes.

He's got one job. Get the players ready to play. He failed And when they're not playing as expected do something about it He failed

It won't make a difference who we bring in if Goodwin stays like an Easter Island statue in the coaches box

POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Western Bulldogs
The backline is starting to show signs of this buut the mids and fwds are non existent. IN the 3rd when they had kicked 2 goals it should be - lockdown on them for 5 mins and regain composure - but no, our one paced game plan (flat out) just keeps doing what they have done. Bang. Another 4 goals kicked in quick time. Thats leadership right there. Yes we dont have our Captain but it should be up t the senior players to address this. Very poor.

Umpiring
1. You are allowed to move sideways. "east-west" the umps would call in the early days of this rule. What you are not allowed to do is move sideways and fwd. But it's another rule that they pick and choose when to enforce or not. 2. Yesterday there were several instances of players being pushed in the back as they kick - and a free was paid downfield. It's wrong and no one calls it out. It's akin to a 50m penalty. Total garbage. 3. Players get pushed in the back ALL the time when they are kicking - more often than not when kicking for goal - and yet the umps rarely pay it. 4. Here's one that has been consigned to the dustbin of history except against Melbourne at the worst possible time - players running past the kicker within 10m. That rule was enforced with Nazi like enthusiasm and not rarely paid. The umpires are a joke.
