  1. A true original that wasn't afraid to be himself. An old fashioned larrikan. That's a character that seems to have disappeared.
  2. Smith is not the answer. His lack of footy nous costs us more often than not
  3. They didn't umpire it that way in the North game Typical AFL to stuff something like this up.

Thats not right. We do that at our company with shareholders who submit questions. You can choose to make the questions public or keep them private. In our case they are kept private. The moderators simply selects the ones they want to answer and ignores ones they don't

You get written questions that are submitted and not made public The moderator then chooses which questions to answer to give the veneer of an open and transparent process. The current Board have proven very poor with transparency
  6. Appreciate the updates Thx
  7. I think thats a great test for our team. Not a bad time to experiment with it.
  8. The yanks have the World Series Baseball - and don't invite anyone else..
  9. Pretty sure it was all to do with their launch of their own brand 'side by side' which they didn't have to pay royalties to the AFL
  10. Pert was CEO for the Pies last flag when they lost c$1.5m on merchandise after miscalculating demand, Let's hope he learned his lesson
  11. Keep the analysis coming, This thread should never die ...Well until we bag another flag of course...
  12. The mental leap from 'we're not good enough to win a flag' to 'we've won a flag' is enormous. Players now know they are good enough .. And by some margin. Yet the room for improvement is massive. Virtually every player has improvement in them and will. now know that every single step they make in their training can generate the ultimate result. And the confidence in the game plan, their fitness and their team mates will be sky high. Plus the confidence that they can win from almost every position - other teams will know that Melbourne can pile on goals and win from 7 goals down I for one think we will improve this year. And when you look at the 2000's once you get to the top you can win 3/4 flags - Brisbane, Geelong, Hawthorn and Richmond have shown how to do it - with the right list, right age/experience bracket and injuries.
  13. Heard a whisper of a well known performer that might be singing at the game. Can't say who just yet. I'll hopefully get it confirmed closer to the game....
  14. They love Smith but he has limitations. And in the Brisbane game its not as though they had a lot of choice to move him elsewhere.
  15. Cyril only kicked 40 or more goals twice. Picket has done it once, at 20yo
  16. His one on one against JJ in the GF was outstanding.
  17. Smith lacks footy nous. his athleticism is great but Charlie Cameron showed him up big time.
  18. I used to get annoyed by these lists. Now I couldn't care less. We are the Premiers Everyone else can eat our dust
  19. A joy to read Thx team
  20. 6 quarters wouldn't be quite right would it?
  21. To think if we had have taken Wines instead of Toumpas we may not have ended up with Clarry or trac We would have had two great players in Viney and Wines but quite similar in many ways.
  22. Its like many things AFL They bend rules to suit...
  23. You are allowed to use your hands to hold your position - you can't push. BBs was textbook. The Dog player was backing into him. JJ is allowed to have his hands in the back to take that mark. Had he not taken the mark it would have been a free,This rule interpretation has been in place for a long time and encourages 'high marking' - a hallmark of our great game. Think last year when Weightman used his hands to climb Max like a stepladder - because he took the mark it was fine.
