  1. "Tom Scully says he would love to play for Melbourne..." not surprised at all. He's best mates with sam blease and they really are lookin forward to playin together again.
  2. sorry for teh repost but thought i'd put in my 2 cents here... being resigned to the fact that we will no longer go for butcher with pick 2, here's how i hope it all goes down come draft day. 1 Scully 2 Trengove 11 and 18 Butcher if he slides, Panos, Black or Jetta. i believe temel will be available at pick 34 where we can take him as sort of a rough diamond to see how he progresses. pass on pick 50 for a pick in the PSD Jetta is a must at one of those picks though. i can really see him tearing up the wings of the MCG hitting up Jurrah. Tantalizing. 12 goals from the wing in one game... gees i guess the only other options i would consider at picks 11 or 18 are vardy, to add to our ruck stocks, or tahlia. tahlia is more of a defender though and i guess we've got a few of them in supply. i guess i'm hoping tahlia has already gone by this stage so it isn't even an option.
  3. i reckon scully looks a bit like luke ball there
  4. yes i hope west coast pick up lucas with 7. essendon will also swoop on jetta if given the chance. hopefully jetta slides to pick 18 and that's where we pounce. being resigned to the fact that we will no longer go for butcher with pick 2, here's how i hope it all goes down come draft day. 5. any news on this kid. gotta throw him in the mix of talls along with butcher, talia, carlisle, temel and the ruckman vardy.
  6. yeha i would say the state screenings will give a lot more insight as to his physical abilities and therefor position in the scheme of things
  7. i'd want a late first round pick for him. maybe the saints pick 16
  8. i can tell you with some pretty good authority that blease will be in no. 17 next year
  9. this is what i thought would have been ideal if we don't go the butcher option at 2. the only thing is the way i wanted to get that extra first round pick was to get rid of bruce.
  10. McLean is only 23. to say this is part of a rebuild is rediculous. he's at the right age. injuries have slowed him the last few years and it's going to be very painful to see him tear it up fully fit in another jumper, especially a navy blue one. i have no doubt he'll regain the form that had many of us excited about him as the next melbourne captain. [censored] carlton are going to have the best midfield goin around. also i wanna know why mclean's season review is not on the website http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsart...38/default.aspx review
  11. you can easily throw that title around maxwell. he is [censored]. loved watching him cost his team the final against the saints. brought me great pleasure.
  12. i guess beamer is now my outright fav. goin to hurt seein brock in the navy blue. i know its mean spirited but i hope he never regains his full fitness and we pick up a superstar. it'd be nice to be on the win side of a win lose situation for change.
  13. pick 3-8 i would of thught was adequate compensation. i hope there is a trade of their second round pick and our third round pick as well
  14. so anyone know trengove's stats from today?
  15. i reckon this is pretty much spot on. quite amusing too. check it out
  16. can't say i'd be to unhappy with either temel or panos with pick 18 if we go the two midfielders with one and two. also, if lovett finds his way to us in the pre season draft, i think that would offset the opportunity cost of jetta with pick 18. think then we really would have the makings of a pretty good side. add the class mids, pace in the midfield to give davey a chop out and maybe allow him to roam the forward 50 a bit more, and the power forward to complement watts in the coming years. correct me if i'm wrong but i think lovett's the same age as davey. think a change of scenery would be good for him, just as long as his off field issues don't negatively impact our indigenous boys.
  17. top bloke sam blease. i can tell you he's pumped that his best mate tom scully will be joining him next year. also i can guarantee you that sammy will be in the number 17 jumper next year.
  18. wont make any difference. vermont will still dominate the efl. go eagles. big one this week
  19. not sure if i like this. he's old andthe one thing we do have is key defendrs. why blow stacks of cas on something we dont really need. throw it the way of a young key forward or young future super star... tippett or even a dangerfield or cotchin or joel selwood
  20. not sure thats a great thing based on this year...
  21. hillie

    Pick 9

for pick 3 and you'd have a deal. you could then end most of the debates about butcher v trengrove
  22. i think i remember hearing he extended his contract at the end of last year keep dreaming.
  23. he was highly sought after last year as he was taking couragous pack mark (jono brown like, running bak with the flight into oncoming traffic) and kicking bags as an underage player in last year carnival. in a draft where there were quality talls, he would of been up there. i believe th thing that has dropped him down in people's opinions on here was that he didn't have a great carnival this year due to injury. a similar injury to that of fev at the start of this year. fev's still stiched up the coleman. now i know that does not really have any bearing on butcher, othr than he was not able to produce his bestunder duress, much the same as fev. more and more i lean towards butcher at two. i think its just to good a proposition to pass up. we can add to the midfield in future drafts. apart from the mclean/sylvia draft, i cant remeber using our first pick on a midfielder. they've been (failed) key position forwards, not including watts, or defenders. we can get a young ziebell or selwood next year with our first pick. keep in mind we will have scully on the list next year as well.
  24. pick 18 for a player that got dropped to the coberg seconds... tell em their dreaming.
  25. no. we've got enough hacks that try and play ruck. get a decent one. but don't trade away picks for it. maybe a swap for daniel bell though. thinking on my feet here. yeahs thats fair. a dud for a dud.but only if he's on less than bell
