I would take Mitch Morton if we were playing in a GF tomorrow but i'd take Cale for the future...but he seriously better bulk up a bit..its embarrassing. The majority of supporters don't rate Cale Morton, it's only you narrow-minded, biased people that seem to think they are better than they are.
Morton kicked 41 goals. No-one can deny this is a great effort considering he is playing for the tiges. How many goals would he kick for geelong/saints/dogs? 50-60? who knows
don't play down mclean. he was one of our best players and for an inside player has some of the best foot skills you could ask for. This is the 2nd coming of Scott thompon. screwed over with that, screwed over with this.
mitch morton is not an average player. He is a very good one. He's an unfairly maligned player. He kicked 41 goals in a horrible forward line that got poor delivery.
Guys, I was all over picking up Morabito at number 2 and was content with the idea of picking up Trengove but now that we have pick 11 does that force us to pick up Butcher at 2? Butcher regarded by many as easily the best key forward and picking up a player that is in Butchers shadow simply because we need a key forward seems a waste of a high pick when we could pick up a gun in Luke Tapscott for example.
1. Scully
2. Butcher
11. Tapscott
OR
1. Scully
2. Trengove/Morabito
11. Carlisle/Talia
???
mclean had to be kept..if given away it had to be for a top 5 pick. We got f#cked over with scott thompson...and now screwed over with mclean. When will this club realise that you can't be every teams [censored] when you have good players. I'd rather let them go in to the PSD..or at least threaten to do so.
this is a bloody disgrace. THE NEXT SCOTT THOMPSON. the average pick 11 is no-where near good enough. In a draft where all the 17yr old have been taken out pick 11 is equivalent to a pick 20. Bloody disgrace, will NEVER get over this one as i'm still not over scotty thompson. We tanked all year to get a priority pick when we are going to lose our best midfielder anyway. WHAT THE [censored]
I still rate him. a great mark, extremely agile, plays taller than his height..has some serious forward line pressure (which was a percevied weakness), and some much needed aggression, has a good kicking technique in my opinion (just needs to kick the ones he should, as he gets the ones no1 expects him too).
He'll make it
i want morabito but i know dee down that we wont go for a Wa boy. but i think he is the 2nd best player in the draft..and west coast/freo would have picked him over scully i believe
happy to be incorrect on this occassion. who would have thought jordan mcmahon would have marked the ball arguably after the siren and kicked a goal from beyond 50m to win the game. Im glad he did
the criticism comes from the fact that he is horrible when the ball hits the deck, he can't pick the thing up...he also has a horrible turning circle and his kicking (whilst he is a big long kick) takes too long to load up and he gets caught out with this, either being tackled, being forced to handball or getting his kick smothered. These are his negatives.
all i keep telling myself is Fevola, Gibbs. Murphy, Judd. Its quality we wont be able to handle.
I expect Bailey to give Moloney, Mclean, Bate etc a nice 'unexpected' rest
I think Scully and Morabito are the standouts, not Trengove. Trengove is a well-rounded player that does everything well but Morabito has X factor, pace, match-winning capabilities that Trengove can't match. Trengove reminds me of Bryce Gibbs who whilst is a great player, is no match winner at this stage.
