  1. Tapscott hasn't joined in general training for a few week now and was mainly walking around the boundary yesterday. He did go back to SA last week because of his grandmother's passing but, on coming back, is clearly not right and the word going round Casey Fields yesterday (as mentioned on both Demonland and Demonology (see the training threads) is that he needs surgery on his hip but that it's not major surgery. There's been no word at all from the club on this but that's nor unusual with the MFC and the notification of injuries to players. Meanwhile, here's the club's injury list. It's supposed to be official FWIW: Matthew Bate (quad) 3 weeks Sam Blease (ankle) 4 to 5 weeks Cameron Bruce (hamstring) 2 weeks Colin Garland (foot) 3 to 4 weeks Max Gawn (knee) Indefinite Paul Johnson (foot) 6 to 8 weeks John Meesen ® (ankle) Indefinite Jack Watts (back) 3 to 4 weeks Austin Wonaeamirri (hamstring) 2 to 3 weeks Luke Tapscott not mentioned.
  2. Luke Tapscott apparently has a hip injury and will have atheroscopic surgery. Unsure how long this will keep him out.
  3. ... or like wasting a first round draft pick by trading it to get Cameron Wood. (thanks anyway)
  4. Sorry to disappoint but # 20 was a top up player from the Casey Scorpions and not Colin Garland who is still building up his training regimen. Luke Tapscott was out because of a family bereavement but he hasn't been joining in training for some time. One of my mates who goes to most training sessions and has contacts among the players is going to ask around to find out what the problem is (if any).
  5. I've been looking at photos of training at Casey and notice there aren't any houses down there. Therefore, they must all be training the house down !
  6. No you were not following my "logic through to its conclusion." You were commenting on your interpretation of my logic which was incorrect and your comments were therefore flawed. Bailey has been coach of the club since late 2007. He has worked in a difficult environment but discerning observers should already know a great deal about how he prepares his teams. He is under no constraints in 2010. The team doesn't have to lose games to get priority draft picks. He has to coach the team for the NAB Cup and pre season games plus 22 rounds and (we should be so lucky) in finals. Those who know something about coaching would have a pretty good idea as to whether he can coach long before the end of that period.
  7. Pardon me but was Dean Bailey appointed for 6 months?
  8. Beg to differ. I think we'll know by mid year as to whether he can or can't coach and if it's clear that he can't then the usual suspects in the media will be onto him in no time, contract extension or not because that's their nature.
  9. WHile all this was going on who do you reckon was doing wheelies in the Crown Carpark in Andrew Walker's motor?
  10. I really can't buy that. Collingwood is supposed to be a professional club. If they wanted to pursue Liam then they would have made damn sure that his papers for the ND were properly completed and lodged. They either lacked the professionalism or didn't care enough about Liam. It looks very much like the latter.
  11. Karma for all those Collingwood idiots who joked when Nathan Jones' dad was hit by a Pies fan. I know it's a cheap shot but we don't know the circumstances and I'm by no means condoning what happened.
  12. Can't agree on Norf. They're very short on class and depth.
  13. COLLINGWOOD footballer Scott Pendlebury is in hospital after being king-hit outside a Lakes Entrance hotel. Karma?
  14. Frankly, it would be a waste of time from my POV. McLean was let go for a reason and the same reason would apply if Ball was our player. I want the club to continue its play for youth, especially with its four top 20 picks. Give me a youngster who we can develop and possibly get 200 games from than a bloke who could easily be a broken down hack in 12 months time and who might be bitter and twisted about not getting to Eddieland which is where he sees his future.
  15. I would say Burgan will be close to the mark for the first dozen picks but at some stage, it will all go off track and a club will make an unexpected selection. At that point in time, a lot of his work will unravel.
  16. Could take him if we wanted at 50 I suppose.
  17. I can do better than that. If Scully goes number 1 peoples then Jack Trengove will go number 2. 100% GUARANTEED Take a ticket and get in line if you want to have a crack at me or my sources. Are hard boiled eggs OK?
  18. Pardon my ignorance but I never got close enough to watch him when he "layed". What was it like? FWIW here's my contribution: 1. Trengove 2. Scully 11. Talia 18. Ball 34. Gawn 50. Barlow PSD. Thorp Barlow is a talented VFL player with Werribee and he's my smokey.
  19. And you reckon he won't get the treatment at Collingwood or Essendon?
  20. Sounds quite impressive. Anyone reckon he's a chance to be drafted?
  21. I suspect however, that even though the words weren't mentioned in the article, those ingredients are always there in a team that played reasonably well and above its weight division as Collingwood did this year. Give some credit where it's due.
  22. I disagree. A deformed Lion with a great big oversized head will look perfect on big heads like Brown and Fevola. However, I do have one recommendation. If they manage to pick up Ball in the ND then they should make the Lion's ears stick out a bit like Balls' ears and also perhaps put a bandage on one of its legs.
  23. I was at the 2001 grand final and from memory I can't remember Nick Davis playing a part in that game. Which of the two teams was he playing for that day?
