  1. Apparently, that's not the case. GC can nominate players previously in the AFL system or who have previously nominated themselves for the draft and trade them right up to tomorrow's 2pm deadline. Don't know however, if Sinclair is eligible under this rule.
  2. I think all AFL clubs are the same these days. When it comes fo recruiting you do what it takes to get your man.
  3. Prisoners break in to umpiring ranks I've been saying for years that AFL games are umpired by criminals.
  4. Does this mean the Pies are on Krak?
  5. Why settle only for a press release? Let's have a full blown press conference for the Meese release announcement?
  6. It seems to me that these blokes are getting a fair bit more protection from their football club and from the AFL than Fevola when allegations were made against him. In that case, didn't the AFL say it might investigate Fev irrespective of the outcome of the police investigation? There's been no announcement from the Pies banning two players from any club functions either.
  7. Too fat, too slow and butchers the footy whenever he gets it. Pass!
  8. There is no other choice after the sewerage pipe fiasco but for the two competing clubs to withdraw and for the AFL to declare the 2010 season a "no result". The health and safety of our finest athletes must not be compromised!
  9. Not just trade week. I believe the government is thinking of moving Christmas back a week to 1st January.
  10. More money than sense!
  11. A picture's worth 1,000 words and one can only hope to find a replica at 5.30pm this Saturday.
  12. Just heard an interview with Dyson Heppell's father and his name isn't Martin or Marty.
  13. When does Garry Junior sign on for the Suns? The pain started for the Cats on Friday night. It's due to continue next week.
  14. Randy, there's little chance of a father-son connection here. According to the TAC Cup Record, Dyson Heppell was born on 14 May 1992 which means that if Martin was the father he would have been a dad at 17½ and before he started his illustrious football career.
  15. Sorry. Can't lose the avatar. It's on loan from one of the men in white coats.
  16. Listen to the man. His idea has some merit. We could package up Travis Johnstone in the deal and get Mark "Jacko" Jackson back to the fold as their personal trainer and mentor. FEV IS INNOCENT
  17. Tonight's light training run on the G is a good lead up for the Cats to the Preliminary Final against Collingwood next week. It probably proves the viewpoint that it's not good to make the finals ahead of your time.
  18. Ricky McLean, I thought he retired.
  19. Despite the threat of rain, the attendance of 63,608 at last night's qualifying final was pretty ordinary IMO. There was lots of vacant spaces in the ground and the crowd was well below it's full capacity. It wasn't all that long ago that Vlad threatened to take away the QB blockbuster from Melbourne if we couldn't attract 60-65k to the G for an ordinary home and away fixture. I think we managed just under 60,000 on a wet day and the AFL's head honcho wasn't very happy with us. Now I'm expecting that he'll call both clubs and warn them if they don't improve their acts and work harder at getting better and attracting more bums to put on seats then they might play their future finals at Visy Park.
  20. Good effort there DEE MAN but people should remember that there's only one DEEMAN and that's me! Cheers.
  21. Feel for the kid. He really needs a buddy.
  22. Aside from resting Aaron Davey next week, I'd hope fopr a Hawthorn thrashing against the Dockers and go for it against the Power.
  23. This is just so typical of the sh1tstirring humbug that you get from Crikey. They like picking on the most vulnerable - clubs like Melbourne when were down. Happell isn't the only nasty who writes for them and they seem to have a penchant for ignoring the more salient facts when telling their stories. Of course, Rhino's right. No use getting into a flap about a third rate resort for narcissistic media hacks.
  24. Magnificent effort all round and congratulations to the club for picking itself up by the bootstraps and getting out of debtor's prison.
  25. I'm wondering whether these panels take into account the conditions that a game is played under when making their deliberations? Hurley played in cool, calm conditions under a roof while Jordie and Jack laboured under humid then wet conditions that made ball handling and accurate disposal far more difficult.
