  1. Despite the threat of rain, the attendance of 63,608 at last night's qualifying final was pretty ordinary IMO. There was lots of vacant spaces in the ground and the crowd was well below it's full capacity. It wasn't all that long ago that Vlad threatened to take away the QB blockbuster from Melbourne if we couldn't attract 60-65k to the G for an ordinary home and away fixture. I think we managed just under 60,000 on a wet day and the AFL's head honcho wasn't very happy with us. Now I'm expecting that he'll call both clubs and warn them if they don't improve their acts and work harder at getting better and attracting more bums to put on seats then they might play their future finals at Visy Park.
  2. Good effort there DEE MAN but people should remember that there's only one DEEMAN and that's me! Cheers.
  3. Feel for the kid. He really needs a buddy.
  4. Aside from resting Aaron Davey next week, I'd hope fopr a Hawthorn thrashing against the Dockers and go for it against the Power.
  5. This is just so typical of the sh1tstirring humbug that you get from Crikey. They like picking on the most vulnerable - clubs like Melbourne when were down. Happell isn't the only nasty who writes for them and they seem to have a penchant for ignoring the more salient facts when telling their stories. Of course, Rhino's right. No use getting into a flap about a third rate resort for narcissistic media hacks.
  6. Magnificent effort all round and congratulations to the club for picking itself up by the bootstraps and getting out of debtor's prison.
  7. I'm wondering whether these panels take into account the conditions that a game is played under when making their deliberations? Hurley played in cool, calm conditions under a roof while Jordie and Jack laboured under humid then wet conditions that made ball handling and accurate disposal far more difficult.
  8. Both should end up at Carlton.
  9. And now for the really bad news on the injury front:-
  10. Young team. Those boys want to catch the plane and get home early, tucked into bed with their Teddy Bears.
  11. Any reports ......... ? Yes, Cyril Rioli - two weeks (will miss the MFC game in Round 20). Buddy to go next week !!!!
  12. Great to see the football world finally sitting up and taking notice of us instead of the snide comments about us going skiing in winter.
  13. If we make the finals I would want us to beat the Hawks in a final after getting a dodgy free kick on the siren.
  14. I'll wager 6 to 4 on that it becomes a best seller!
  15. It's incredible that this year when there's so very little advantage to be gained from finishing last with four wins or less that there's absolutely no mention in the football media of the T word!
  16. That's right let's bring back the players who starred last week at Casey in that glorious 20 goal defeat!
  17. The best way to bring happiness and a smile to every Collingwood supporter's face would be for us to take Fraser off their hands.
  18. Matthew Bate (ankle) - test Sam Blease (leg) - 2 weeks Cameron Bruce (hamstring) - test Jack Fitzpatrick (shoulder) - 1 week Max Gawn (knee) - 6-8 weeks Liam Jurrah (shoulder) - 4-5 weeks John Meesen (ankle) - indefinite Ricky Petterd (shoulder) - season Luke Tapscott (hip) - 4-6 weeks Does this mean Jake Spencer (back) and Matty Warnock (general soreness have overcome their injuries from last week?

  20. Terrific report but those last ten seconds seemed like um, well ... ten seconds to me:) !
  21. Just bumping this up to show off.
  22. Hope they don't get the boys drunk on the set.
  23. Is this some sort of a joke? I stated very clearly what my source was i.e from friends who attend training. One of them is in close contact with some of the players and I have previously posted information that they have freely given to him. Those who follow the site closely would be aware that Tapscott hasn't been in full training since late January. Although it was said that he missed the intra club game due to his grandma's death (which is true) I heard on Saturday that all was not well physically with Tapscott and I wrote elsewhere on the site at the weekend that I would try to find out what if anything was wrong with him. I posted this here when the news was confirmed to me. I note that the club has confirmed nothing but I'm confident my info about the hip injury which more or less co-incides with DA's happens to be correct. One more thing. I occasionally visit Demonology but do not post there because I'm more interested in facts not self-indulgent drivel. There is a poster over there who calls himself/herself "Deeman" and that poster is NOT me!!!!!!!!
  24. Was told by someone who attended training and told me he heard it there. Is there a problem with that.
