  1. Right. That's it then. He can go back to being a dud now!
  2. What's this cash-strapped business? Haven't we recently raised in excess of $3m to unstrap ourselves?
  3. All of the above ... puhlease!!!
  4. Aah, a site set up by people dedicated to scuppering the CF deal & politically damaging their opponents on council. Mr. Tyler BTW has been with Berwick/Casey councils for at least 20 years, has a good track record & is well respected in town planning circles.
  5. The McKernan brothers are very much alike but remember, they're playing in entirely different eras. The younger version is unlike his older brother in that he's unlikely to play in the ruck. I do like the prospect of him as a marking tall but would he be a available at 17?
  6. Brad Green at Collingwood! Now that would be a brand new world. But what would we get for him?
  7. Precisely why we're hanging on till tomorrow when you're due to go back!
  8. How on earth could it possibly be in poor taste? I'm informed by a mate who works at the CSIRO that methane gas is tasteless.
  9. There's lots of accommodation out there for our Footy Department to move into but there's only one problem - most of the rooms are full of methane gas.
  10. Rubbish. Farren Ray is the perfect player for us as he would fit in nicely with our game plan which, as far as I can work it out, involves hoping and praying that we get the centre clearance, promptly spraying it laterally in the direction of the wing where the players have fanned out to pick up the easy ball and then miskick it so that it ends up inside the scrimmage of players in the middle.
  11. Problem with Vanderlay is that he's gone prematurely bald which makes him look a lot slower than he really is - a bit like Ablett. He is a touch taller than Valenti according to the AFL Prospectus (if you can trust that source).
  12. Well, he's not exactly a Rolls Royce!
  13. ... or us pick 1.
  14. Nicknat had an ordinary one yesetrday in the WAFL prelim final but his team is in the grannie against Subiaco - Daniel Rich's team. Does anyone know if they telecast the game here on Foxtel?

    AGM

I would like the club to consider the reintroduction of the Members Information Night which used to pack them in at the Camberwell Town Hall. The reason these were discontinued was the cost but I reckon if they charged $15:00 per person towards the debt demolition (plus additional donation - voluntary), you won't hear too many complaints. The club could also sell membership and merchandise on the night, introduce new players, farewell the old and generally deal with a lot of the football business that needn't be gone over at the subsequent AGM.
  16. What in [censored] hell is going on with the selection of the colours? Red, blue, white and yellow sets up a potential clash of colours with a number of other clubs. Why not insist on different colours so as to avoid the colour clashes?
  17. Does anyone still think we should take a youngster who is 4-5 years away from making it ahead of a Daniel Rich who is ready made and has been playing senior football at the highest level in his state bar AFL for 2 seasons?
  18. only 1 day off that this year.
  19. Why make changes at this stage of the season? I say, leave the team unchanged and let's start afresh next year.
  20. A draw might end up hurting us!
  21. He's actually in his fourth year on an AFL list not fifth, having been at Adelaide for three years before coming to us at the end of last year. He might well be a spud but let's not forget that most ruckmen take a long time to develop. Take North Melbourne's twin towers - Hamish McIntosh (drafted 2002) and David Hale (2001). The Kangaroos fans were calling them spuds a couple of years ago and they've only become servicable ruckmen this year, their sixth and seventh seasons of AFL respectively. Agreed that Meesen has shown little to date but I would imagine that the club's recruiters would have been aware when he was drafted that he was not going to be an overnight sensation.
  22. Who kicked 8 goals tonight? [a] Lance Franklin Collingwood [c] All of the above. Lock in [c] please ... Eddie. [lifted from bigfooty but I like it anyway]
  23. Two striking reports, a couple of free kicks to North Melbourne and a general free ride to the Roos for the rest of the day. Result: Reprimand on the first charge to L. Dunn; second charge dropped after match review panel had a giggle and McLaren? No sanction at all? Incredible! PS: Harvey - at least he gets an oscar nomination for best performance by a dwarf conning an umpire into a couple of soft free kicks.
  24. I don't know if they can do something like that at this late juncture.
  25. What we need is a player who can reach Brown's stature in the game and play 300 games plus. If you choose wisely and have a bit of luck with your early draft pick you could get that. Brown at the MFC would be pushing 30 before we're ready to be a power.
