Tall forwards getting outnumbered, that’s a work rate problem from our small forwards. Our delivery is pretty poor inside 50. Umps aren’t great, but they aren’t the cause of our problems. How about moving the ball aggressively?

They have a very deep and talented midfield. That goes a long way to winning a flag, but it’s still very early days with much water to go under the bridge.

Blues will want to try and make it a shoot out. Deny them the corridor and it goes a long way to stopping them. We should have a very light week on the track.

I think we need to be putting more score on the board for us to be a genuine contender. It is simply not sustainable for our defence having to continually keep the opposition scores less than our own when we aren’t scoring heavily ourselves.

Our defence is a strong as ever. Our midfield is not as powerful as it was in 2021, nor our attack anywhere near as potent. Weve been found wanting in our forward line the past 2 finals campaigns. If that starts to click and our midfield stays fresh, we’re as good a shot as any. But it’s a long season, with many twists and turns to come. There is also luck which cannot be controlled.
