Slightly off topic, but am I the only one who had no idea Hamish Brayshaw was on West Coastās list until all this unfolded? ?

Gawn walking laps in tracksuit, HS telling us not to panic...
You should.

Should he fly to Afghanistan and clear the air with Will too? Heās the biggest brother of all. I get the need for Gaff to mend bridges with Andrew and why Hamish would want to facilitate it. I can see why Craig Gaff would reach out to Mark Brayshaw. I canāt see why anybody would involve Angus in any way. It has nothing whatsoever to do with him.

I canāt understand why Gaff would meet with Gus. Itās none of Gusā business, to be frank. According to Mark Brayshaw, Hamish and Gaff are close mates, so it would make sense that Hamish would arrange a meeting between the two Andrews to help each get peace of mind, but I canāt see why anyone owes Gus an explanation. I reckon someone has just got their wires crossed and the misinformation has spread like wildfire as it does.

Yeah, I know. Just got hit with a surge of āI f***ed up real bad and didnāt mean to and now everyone hates meā when I saw his reaction - I have had that feeling before in my life. Just my empathy acting up - Iām well aware that he isnāt the victim.

Odd feeling of feeling very sad for Gaff and that justice has been served at the same time.

Changes vs Sydney
40.16 for the year, 4 goals against Collingwood, 6.0 in the Geelong loss. But yep, letās throw all that away and make him a defender again because his radar was a bit off in the first game he hasnāt kicked a goal in all season.

Wagner will gut run and provide effort as well. I agree with @Fifty-5. If thereās no use for Wagner in this situation, thereās no point in him being on the list.

While weāre there, Hogan can line up at CHB and Garlett can assume the role of lock down defender in the back pocket. TMac is now a forward. A gun forward.

Rd 20: Video of the Week
A goal every 9 seconds is 800 goals I think. 60/9*30*4.

Rd 20: Video of the Week
Gave me goosebumps. Both the Fritsch and Brayshaw kicks hit the mark from 50+ away. The goal in the end looked easy but Garlett was in the middle of the ground when that play started at Hogan at half forward. Just great work all round.

Thereās no way he gets off lightly. Iām fully on board with the protected species conspiracy theory, but not for head punches, out of play, when serious damage was done. The AFL will (hopefully) be well aware of the backlash it will get if it is soft on the player in this case.

I probably wouldnāt in your shoes either to be honest. In retrospect itās impossible to know how one would react. I can see your point of view and the one I put forward now.

You were making some sense until the last paragraph. Last time I checked, tackling was an instrument of the game and punching was not.

I love my brothers dearly but I donāt think someone punching them is any worse a crime than if that same person had punched someone unknown to me. If I could move on from a mate punching a random, I could also move on from a random punching a mate. In my eyes the Bugg and Gaff punches are equal, even if I pretend itās me and my brother in place of the Brayshaw boys. I also reckon Iād be able to pretty easily push it aside enough to be professionally civil with the player. Thereās no requirement for Gaff and Brayshaw to be best mates if they become teammates. I accept my perspective isnāt universal though and that most people are a lot better at hanging on to grudges than me. Anyway I hope Iām not seen as endorsing the punch. Iām definitely not. It was a reprehensible act.

Angus seems to manage just fine with Bugg as a teammate.

There's no way they'll pick Hunt. First game back in the VFL after most of the season out. Far too risky given what is at stake. He's not flash or popular but Wagner has been playing all season and is primed IMO. I'll be surprised if he's not selected to replace Smith.

Round 20 - Non MFC Games.
5 thrillers, 3 smackings and... whatever happened in the St. Kilda and Bulldogs game. I'm not joking when I say I have absolutely no idea in what the result of that game was (nor do I have any interest). What a round of footy.

Can only speak for myself but: Milkshake is obviously best 22 and JKH is the least good player in that general position. It's not an axing per se - more just an 'edging out' My changes are two direct like for likes. I'm certainly far from sold on it and would consider a non-like-for-like change (e.g. in Melk, out Smith) change and a shuffle of positions, but generally I think like-for-like is the best way to go to avoid too many disruptions If Milkshake isn't ready, JKH stays in

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 20
Just a human psychology thing I reckon - the bar went through the roof in the first quarter and was completely unreachable after that. Everyone was ready for the next thrill which didn't come. Almost like a come-down/withdrawals. Hopefully most can see the reality now that the emotion has passed!
