You’ve convinced me. Bring it on!

Can still remember the day! I was on an RDO. I was browsing Demonland and Paul Roos wasn’t the coach. Went and had a shower, came out, jumped back on to Demonland, and Paul Roos was the coach. I haven’t showered since. Saving it for Grand Final day. Seriously though, how fitting is it that the anniversary is so close to our final? Almost exactly 5 years after the journey began. We all hoped it would be the beginning of something great, but I think many of us are still struggling to comprehend that it is actually happening.

How good would it be knocking out Geelong and then delivering Hawthorn’s straight sets exit? This is the stuff of dreams.

Training - Thursday, 6th September, 2018
Nasher replied to General Malaise's topic in Melbourne Demons
A risk of what? That he might be unavailable for finals? We are at the pointy end. If he’s not going to play now, he may as well retire. -
Bump the “is Goodwin the right coach” thread.

Who would be your preferred umpires on Friday?
Nasher replied to DeezNuts's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nah, I’m pretty happy with it. Here’s how it will go down: 1) the umpires will make a number of very borderline decisions and a few blatantly wrong ones, because our game is hard to umpire and our umpires are part timers 2) there will be one or two very controversial ones that directly create goals. If they go against us, it means they’ve been orchestrated by the AFL to ensure Geelong win 3) Any free paid against us by Nicholls or one of the other high profile umps is just further proof that they hate us. 4) if we win, the umpiring will be forgotten in an instant. If we lose it’s “We’re not blaming the umpiring, but...” -
Who would be your preferred umpires on Friday?
Nasher replied to DeezNuts's topic in Melbourne Demons
Honestly couldn’t care less who the umpires are. Hope it’s Nicholls, Chamberlain and Pannell just for a bit of entertainment in seeing you all get wound up, because at the end of day it will not make a lick of difference. -
I 100% did the same thing. Was pretty disappointed in the end!

Oh man, yes please. Great promo.

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL Qualifying Final
Nasher replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
It’s a shame that’s what 3 years or so on the list amounted to when he seemed to have potential early on. Perhaps he had already been told he wouldn’t be renewed and threw in the towel. That’s footy I guess. -
Casey Demons v Geelong VFL Qualifying Final
Nasher replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
That’s the first time I’ve heard of an MFC listed player being dropped from the side when there’s no lower side for him to go to. Brutal. -
I thought you automatically qualified if you got to 100 games. In my mind it’s no coincidence that he will finish on exactly 100.

Why barrack for Collingwood? Surely we’d fancy ourselves in a prelim against West Coast in Perth - we’ve already done the job once. To be honest though I’m actually beastly careless about any of the other results. They’re all tough opponents, so the relief and excitement over any win we get, or the disappointment of a loss, will pretty much swamp any other feelings or thoughts.

That sent my hatred for them from simmering to snowballing.

“One of your favourite” - in the esteemed company of Heretier Lumumba, Chris Heffernan and Mitch Clark, right?

Is he eligible to play? How does that work with finals? -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Nasher replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wouldn’t say no if he wants to come - it’s looking very likely at this stage that we won’t have a ruck on the list other than Max and whatever kid we might draft. It’s just the question of why the f he would want to come that has me stumped. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Nasher replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why would he want to come and play second fiddle to the AA ruckman? You’d think we would be the last place a ruckman desperate to establish himself would choose. -
We are not going to make Hogan a defender to fit Weideman in the forward line. That’s honestly crazy talk. Versatile players usually end up that way because they’re forced to fill a hole, not because they’ve been squeezed out of their best role. We find a way to make three talls work. It’s the only way we don’t eventually lose one. Maybe we should rename this the Trade WEIDEMAN thread.

Only one of 6 people in history to have won a B&F at two VFL/AFL clubs apparently, according to the article on MFC website.

Wasn’t here at our lowest ebb and won’t be here when we peak, but was here to help us build the bridge in between, every step of the way. Roos goes out of his way to give credit to Vince for his role in turning the ship around. I’ve loved his time here, particularly his tough brand, long kicking and high standards. I’m sad he has to go without playing any finals for the MFC, but the time is clearly right. I’m thrilled he could limp over the 100 game mark - life membership is a fitting capstone to his time here. All the best Bernie.

Especially if you’re the most junior, and coincidentally out of contract player and you’re well aware of your current place in the pecking order. I’ve seen both Weideman and Frost give interviews where they’ve said, to paraphrase, it’s a real shame x senior player went down, but thank f he did because otherwise I’d have to settle for a VFL flag tilt. I doubt either player would be that interested in the prospect of doing that next year when they’ve now demonstrated they can do it at the top.

Don’t remember too much about him as a player, but I know that as a coach, he is second to no man in the “what a f’n stupid question” staredown stakes in press conferences, especially when they’ve just lost. Cracks me up every time.
