Precisely the question DC. A couple of weeks is hardly long enough to test the relationship properly. Given that it's been shown that Misson has been able to work with other doctors before, I really doubt this is going to be a problem. That said, the club wouldn't want to leave those positions vacant for too long.
  2. Opposite end of the scale to me then! My first was born when I was 22. At the age you started (~48?), my "kids" will be 26, 24, 22 and 20 :-) Life will just be beginning!
  3. I've wondered the same thing Robbie. Once you reach a certain level of seniority the mud really sticks, and Holmes has got to be covered in it. Wonder if he's got an appetite for whistle blowing?
  4. Very pleasing, especially since the relationship looked to be in ruin this time last year. It's about the most critical relationship the club has IMO.
  5. In the minority in what way? I thought I was in the overwhelming majority of people who are no longer surprised by anything that comes out of the Scully camp, though this thread may indicate that I'm not.
  6. Many of the journos these days are bordering on retarded and will swallow absolutely any rumour that any moron posts on twitter. It's embarrassing, amusing and frustrating all at the same time. Still reckon there's a market for sports journalism that doesn't dabble in sensationalism.
  7. I love the way people are wailing as if this is a surprise or changes anything. It's all a bit "more of the same" now. I reached my limit of surprise or care ages ago. More than anything now I just feel sorry for Jelena Scully.
  8. Hi everyone, I'm sorry to say that I recently discovered the passing of "two sheds jackson" during this year and wanted to belatedly share the news with those concerned on Demonland. The admin on Demonland would like to extend our condolences to his family. - Andrew N
  9. Hehe. That's not *quite* what I meant
  10. I'm afraid only three of them are Dees by brainwash. Only one of my mum's children are Dees (I'll let you guess which one :D) - unsure how it happened, but there are Collingwood and Richmond fans all around me. I guess in even the most degenerate of families you get the odd genius anomaly
  11. How many grand children have you guys got? My mother is of your generation, she's got 10 so far with more to come (from four children of her own).
  12. Sheedy is the real life equivalent of a forum troll.
  13. Yes, I've noticed that too. I reckon it's just lazy and poor journalism though.
  14. His name seems to have come out of nowhere though.
  15. How good is it!! Wait, am I a bit late?
  16. In 2004 we took Matthew Bate, Lynden Dunn and Michael Newton, with the first two being first round picks. So I'd say that "in theory", even if we draft three players this year who turn out to be no good, it wouldn't be worse than the 2004 draft.
  17. Not many similarities between the Evans and Gysberts first matches besides possession count.
  18. Given the early reports of his fitness, I reckon there's a strong link between his fitness and his defensive efforts. I'm very "bullish" about the players who seem to have all the tricks except the conditioning like Blease and Gysberts. So long as injuries permit, fitness is about the easiest issue to fix with footy players I would've thought.
  19. Good luck to him. Deserves some after the way it all unravelled as soon as he started to show something.
  20. To be treated in a professional manner, rather than like a 16 year old girl dumping her boyfriend over the phone. Besides, expecting the issue to arise doesn't make it any less stressful when he does.
  21. Zero games in 2005 and five in 2006 wouldn't have helped (last two seasons there).
  22. Yes, I know. Read the post I quoted - DW seemed to be implying that there were situations where "should of" may be correct, which I was doubting.
  23. It's not absurd, it's fairly common practice with senior management. You give him the opportunity to resign, and if he doesn't then you sack him. All parties come out smelling of roses and no blood is spilt. I strongly disagree with your assertion that he would not resign if given the opportunity. He would do so knowing that the "choice" to resign isn't really a choice at all.
  24. Jimmy should've gone face to face. If he was unable, then he should've sent McLardy or Schwab (actually I'd say that as the coach reports directly to the CEO then Schwab should've delivered the message, but this is a separate and probably less important issue). The phone call is the worst of both worlds option.
  25. I'm struggling to think of an occasion where it would ever be legitimate to use "should of".
