  1. So how does that contribute to the economic well-being of the game then? Everybody in Tasmania already barracks for a team and takes out memberships. All you're doing there is diluting the support for the existing teams in the AFL.
  2. God I hate that turn of phrase - "turning athletes in to footballers".
  3. Presumably if he was as good as his old man, he'd have been snavelled by Geelong as a father son at some point.
  4. Interesting, I'd always wondered whether your nickname may've been Scoop based on SJ's alias. I reckon having Scoop and Scoop Junior on Demonland would've been a nice touch, personally.

Precisely. The whole reason you pay for "best in the industry" types (and you can bet that Misson is costing a packet) is to fix all the things that are busted. Misson seems to me to be one of those arrogant professionals who strive to get the job done with scant regard for who they bulldoze over on the way. Absolutely fine by me, so long as the job actually gets done.

Precisely the question DC. A couple of weeks is hardly long enough to test the relationship properly. Given that it's been shown that Misson has been able to work with other doctors before, I really doubt this is going to be a problem. That said, the club wouldn't want to leave those positions vacant for too long.
  7. Opposite end of the scale to me then! My first was born when I was 22. At the age you started (~48?), my "kids" will be 26, 24, 22 and 20 :-) Life will just be beginning!
  8. I've wondered the same thing Robbie. Once you reach a certain level of seniority the mud really sticks, and Holmes has got to be covered in it. Wonder if he's got an appetite for whistle blowing?
  9. Very pleasing, especially since the relationship looked to be in ruin this time last year. It's about the most critical relationship the club has IMO.
  10. In the minority in what way? I thought I was in the overwhelming majority of people who are no longer surprised by anything that comes out of the Scully camp, though this thread may indicate that I'm not.
  11. Many of the journos these days are bordering on retarded and will swallow absolutely any rumour that any moron posts on twitter. It's embarrassing, amusing and frustrating all at the same time. Still reckon there's a market for sports journalism that doesn't dabble in sensationalism.
  12. I love the way people are wailing as if this is a surprise or changes anything. It's all a bit "more of the same" now. I reached my limit of surprise or care ages ago. More than anything now I just feel sorry for Jelena Scully.
  13. Hi everyone, I'm sorry to say that I recently discovered the passing of "two sheds jackson" during this year and wanted to belatedly share the news with those concerned on Demonland. The admin on Demonland would like to extend our condolences to his family. - Andrew N
  14. I'm afraid only three of them are Dees by brainwash. Only one of my mum's children are Dees (I'll let you guess which one :D) - unsure how it happened, but there are Collingwood and Richmond fans all around me. I guess in even the most degenerate of families you get the odd genius anomaly
  15. How many grand children have you guys got? My mother is of your generation, she's got 10 so far with more to come (from four children of her own).
  16. Yes, I've noticed that too. I reckon it's just lazy and poor journalism though.
  17. His name seems to have come out of nowhere though.
  18. In 2004 we took Matthew Bate, Lynden Dunn and Michael Newton, with the first two being first round picks. So I'd say that "in theory", even if we draft three players this year who turn out to be no good, it wouldn't be worse than the 2004 draft.
  19. Not many similarities between the Evans and Gysberts first matches besides possession count.
