Seems an extreme punishment for slow overrates in a Test that finished in under three days.

Is it groundhog day or something?

Knowing when you haven't got a clue is a skill. I know I haven't got a clue if he was any good. You know I haven't got a clue if he was any good. I know you haven't got a clue if he was any good. There's only one bit missing... P.S. have a look at my post in the Neeld/Prendergast conspiracy thread if you can't work out what I'm talking about.

I like it how you've implied that he's gone in our quest for "the best", then followed it up with "who knows" in the very same post. 5 stars.

Time Trials - Friday 13th January, 2012
Nasher replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think we should start referring to Jack Trengove as "Trengove's brother". -
I'd like them to keep their mitts off the opening partnership for a while. It seems to be working, so leave it alone.
-
Agree. If I was an Indian fan and they'd dropped Kohli for Sharma I'd have been livid. One of the struggling oldies must go and you'd think Laxman would be first cab off the rank. I think Kohli will (or should) blossom in to a good batsman, but won't do that unless he's given some milage.
-
Or because he wants to advance his career? There's always a million reasons these things could be, I never understand why people always look for the biggest conspiracy theories first when there's usually more simple answers.
-
I prefer the term "dry humour" over sarcasm (or killjoy)! It was an absolute ripper.
-
Pretty crap 100, really.
-
Australia have chosen to bowl first. Mark this one down as a loss already.
-
That is an unbelievable display of poor judgement. Mind boggling stuff.
-
Err, Trengove?
-
Surely Scully caining it in the time trial doesn't come as a surprise? He's fast and has top notch endurance - remember how he went #1 in the draft a couple of years ago because of this? I know we've all convinced ourselves that he's really no good anyway and he's got the knees of a 97 year old, but...

Narrowing in on either Grimes or Trengove for Captain
Nasher replied to mdemonski2's topic in Melbourne Demons
I doubt Green gives a fat rat's clacker about what Jay Clark thinks. I certainly don't. -
I'd suggest that the incorrect spelling of his name is getting out of hand. Also, I'd suggest that the idea of Mitch Clarke Clark as captain is also out of hand. What are his credentials?

Training - Wednesday 11th January, 2012
Nasher replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
How is this nitpicking? Weird. I didn't know who he meant either. -
He was? I was a teenager when Dale was at his peak, and spent more time playing cricket than watching it. My only memory of him in the field was that catch, so I'd always just assumed he was a reasonable fielder.
-
I did a dive catch like that Adam Dale one when I knocked one of my wife's vases off the mantle piece when I may or may not have been kicking a ball around inside (my mother always told me not to do that - could never figure out why!). Of course, nobody saw it, and even if anyone (my wife) had, I doubt I'd have been getting props for it.

MFC players you're most looking forward to watch in 2012
Nasher replied to Dee-Bortoli's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm looking forward to seeing how track form translates in to football form for the likes of Nicholson and McDonald. I'd expect those two to be playing NAB round 1 and that they'll have been pushed aside by H&A round 1, but it'll be interesting how it pans out. In terms of players who will (or should) be in the best 22, I'm most looking forward to seeing how Watts, Howe and Clark go. -
Wasn't it! I missed the first innings, but saw the chase put on by Birt and Shah, and there was some seriously good hitting in that. To me Owais Shah has always just been that forgettable guy that played for England when they were shit in the mid-00s, but he's been a great pickup by the Hurricanes so far and was desperately unlucky not to take the chocolates in the end there.
-
I already explained my take on it. Let's move on.
-
I just don't see the point in harping on about a comment when the words he said were clearly not the words he meant. It's just nitpicking.
-
It wasn't a great choice of words, but his point was that their aim is to go out and win the Test match.
-
It sounds bad when you quote that one line out of context. I don't think he's said anything too outrageous there.
