Jones will be the only one of those four on the list next year, and even then I'm not totally convinced. Terlich's contract will surely go in the incinerator, and Bail and McKenzie are out of contract.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Nasher replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep - there was a moment when a GWS player (do they have names?) kicked a goal from nowhere, and all that could be heard was the sound of crickets, and the weak groan of the gears in Derwayne's brain trying to work out what had happened. It was eerie seeing GWS players tussling each others hair with no crowd noise. We also sounded very vocal on TV. -
Brayshaw would have played 22 games too if Roos hadn't sabotaged it by leaving him out last week (jokes). Tremendous effort for a first year player who isn't fully developed physically.

OOC. Suspect it'll be a "let's see what our list looks like after the trade period" case. He'll either be the last signed or the last delisted. Feel for the guy - assuming he hasn't already been told his fortune, he'll have a nervous few weeks ahead. Being right on the fringe would be the worst.
-
Well done to Cross, Dunn, McDonald T, Howe, Garlett and of course the ever durable skipper, Jones N for playing every game of the year. Hopefully next year it's a 23 or more games club.

Great moment ht. Liam will love Max forever now I suspect.

No doubt it's embarrassing, but it doesn't help when we're playing against a team nobody gives a rats about. -
Correct - Christian Salem is that player.
-
Bail is not contracted for 2016.
-
Absolutely. Him and Bernie seem to be a pair. Both went in to a stretch of horrid form together and busted out of it together in emphatic fashion in the last game. They're both so important to our fortunes.

Feels a bit weird putting Viney in the "kids" list doesn't it? It feels like he's been forever - I find it easy to forget he's only a pup still.
-
6. Viney 5. Jones 4. Vince 3. Hogan 2. Harmes 1. Gawn Very hard to vote. Would have loved to find some love for Brayshaw, Garlett and Cross in particular.
-
He's the elite distributor we need off half back. Stretch et al need to develop in to our class outside mids.
-
We also settled above St. Kilda on the ladder too. Considering the amount of excessive praise they had in the back half of the season, this gives me some satisfaction.
-
You're right, but it's not the first thing that sprang to mind for me when describing Harmes today.
-
I get the impression you thoughts Harmes' game was okay TSKFA?
-
Not sure what happened to the site there. Seems the lights were on but nobody was home. I thought the tone was set early by the youngsters - Harmes, Brayshaw and Viney in particular in the first half. The senior players stepped up in the latter half lead by Jones and Vince. Nice to finish the season off strongly. Wasn't the perfect game in terms of ball use, but the effort was definitely there. Loved the interview with Crossy. He was clearly on another planet, but it was great to see him able to be chaired off like he deserved. In a strange kind of way it seemed a fitting way to end his career - getting smashed in a desperate attempt to win a contest.
-
I think it's been entertaining. It could be that I have just lowered my standards, but our players have busted a gut and come out on top in the contest. We've made it impossible for them to move it forward with any purpose. Would like to see a bit more polish in our kicks though!
-
Our pressure has been first rate, but our ball movement has been too slow and shonky kicks in to 50. Should be a lot further in front. Hopefully we can finish the season on a positive note.
-
If there was any doubt Harmes should be elevated it is surely settled now. Tough, hard and fast, and can take a grab. Love his game so far.
-
I agree, and when has that ever happened, really? How much time the clubs in question give players is driven by what the club sees as the potential upside. It stands to reason that there'd be a correlation between the draft pick used and how much upside the club thinks the player has, so often the high draft pick does get more time. But there's also plenty of examples where there's been no correlation and the early draft pick gets the flick quickly (see Lucas Cook).
-
Yep. Terlich, Petracca, Trengove, Hunt and King the only players not to get selected at all.
-
I reckon only a peanut would criticise the delivery, mono. Public speaking is not his thing, and it was obviously a difficult speech for him to deliver given the emotion of it.
-
Totally unexpected for me. The guy is topping the "time on ground" list for us regularly this year. Had we shown him the door last year, for example, it would be 22 cumulative games or so more that we'd have seen from Matt Jones, Bail, McKenzie et al. The club must be bullish about our midfield prospects, or very bearish about his physical condition. In either case I'm taken completely by surprise, but have no choice but to trust they know what they're doing. I wish him well and thank him for two years of excellent service.
