  1. I think it's been entertaining. It could be that I have just lowered my standards, but our players have busted a gut and come out on top in the contest. We've made it impossible for them to move it forward with any purpose. Would like to see a bit more polish in our kicks though!
  2. Our pressure has been first rate, but our ball movement has been too slow and shonky kicks in to 50. Should be a lot further in front. Hopefully we can finish the season on a positive note.
  3. If there was any doubt Harmes should be elevated it is surely settled now. Tough, hard and fast, and can take a grab. Love his game so far.
  4. I agree, and when has that ever happened, really? How much time the clubs in question give players is driven by what the club sees as the potential upside. It stands to reason that there'd be a correlation between the draft pick used and how much upside the club thinks the player has, so often the high draft pick does get more time. But there's also plenty of examples where there's been no correlation and the early draft pick gets the flick quickly (see Lucas Cook).
  5. Yep. Terlich, Petracca, Trengove, Hunt and King the only players not to get selected at all.
  6. I reckon only a peanut would criticise the delivery, mono. Public speaking is not his thing, and it was obviously a difficult speech for him to deliver given the emotion of it.
  7. Totally unexpected for me. The guy is topping the "time on ground" list for us regularly this year. Had we shown him the door last year, for example, it would be 22 cumulative games or so more that we'd have seen from Matt Jones, Bail, McKenzie et al. The club must be bullish about our midfield prospects, or very bearish about his physical condition. In either case I'm taken completely by surprise, but have no choice but to trust they know what they're doing. I wish him well and thank him for two years of excellent service.
  8. You're not suggesting that our recruiting under Prendergast was a joke are you, Franky?
  9. Brayshaw has spaghetti arms. I was alarmed when I first saw him, but it doesn't seem to have been much of a limitation so far. He's deceptively strong. Agree on the others, though it's worth noting that vandenBerg was drafted mature (was 23 in round 1). Viney had also already had several years in our system before the draft.
  10. I think Jesus Hoganshaw would be a bit disappointed that this was the only thing you took from his (edit: sorry, had you confused for someone else) post.
  11. He's confusing Bugg with Matt Buntine, perhaps? The two of them were the subject of speculation on here before the Tyson deal happened.
  12. In a touch of irony that would be lost on Derwayne, it's exactly that kind of moronic comment, indicative of attitude, that would be keeping female umpires out of the game.
  13. 6. Viney 5. Cross 4. Garlett 3. Grimes 2. Salem 1. Gawn
  14. How do you know it's Misson's fault and not Tyson's himself? After all, nobody is better positioned to know how his muscles are responding to treatment.
  15. I'm not sure what could possibly be seen to enthuse anyone with an underdeveloped key defender. It's why I was a tad surprised by his selection.
  16. He got kneed majorly in the head and incredulously got a free kick against. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief.
  17. Finds the ball in play. Looked a little more composed later in the game, first few touches were very nervous. Has a much better kicking action than his brother. Stacks of physical development to do before he's a likely to be a serious key defender. At least two years off IMO, but promising.
  18. Out: Joneses, Spencer In: Brayshaw, Dawes, Tyson (or Harmes and Riley if others injured).
  19. Criticizes OP for only listing one out. Only lists one out.
  20. I noticed Garlett a fair bit and thought he was one of our better players.
  21. I like hearing the crowd noise. It's literally the only reason I leave it on.
  22. He's got time on his side, but I'm not all that sure JKH is any good. To that end, I think whether the players in question are the future or not is irrelevant; like it or not Matt Jones and co are our present. They're here until someone better replaces them.
  23. Exactly. Anyone who reckons we're "satisfied" suffers from only being able to see black and white. If you didn't hate it, you must have loved it. I felt sick 10 minutes in to the second quarter. How I felt at the end of the game was relieved. Certainly not happy, but grateful that we weren't completely humiliated, like it looked like we might be. I'm also aware that Freo are a greatly better side than us. That also helps offer a little context for mine.
