I agree people have a right to be angry at Brock... He's a clear [censored] But are we here to whinge or are we here to talk footy? Will he make our club better in 2015 - IMO yes Is he worth picking up? I am not convinced but he would add to our depth. Question marks on his speed but another big bodied mid wouldn't hurt the Dees. And he's cheap! Worthy of discussion i reckon - we need more experience to win more games - I think it would be a good story if he came back and succeeded
-
I wouldn't mind Brick/Brock offered a rookie spot A hard bodied inside mid who skill is decent - he's slow but we need some genuine ball winners who can feed it to Tyson, Viney, Toump etc. I doubt it will happen as he's probs too old and slow - but I wouldn't be against picking him up as a mature rookie Can't do much worse - bit of fairy tale good news as well

Interesting quick look at drafting jnrmac What do the majority of those pics have in common? They're all skinny running types when footy went in the opposite direction (contested strong bodies). The mfc wanted fast free flowing footy and drafted that way. It was a complete failure as it's not where footy went
-
Fair points - and I agree on toumpas hes been under whelming to date - but i think there are a couple reasons for that (conteted footy not his thing and melb being shtie) At any rate I don't expect super duper stars from 2 or 3 but I think 2 ready to go types would be very handy. Surely we can manage that this year with 2 top 5 picks?
-
Im not going to pretend I know anything about the draft quality or depth Surely based purely on numbers they should be decent picks?
-
Are you saying bluntly that Toumpas can't play? Are you saying run and carry isn't important? or did i just misunderstand you and you're saying inside mids are more importnat? Or are you making the same stereotypical stupid response as others muppets that Wines has had a better career to date as your only judgement on the 2? Not trying to attack you personally - i just hate that stupid line and comparrison
-
Weak draft or not (oddly i heard 2015 draft will be choc full of mids) surely the top 3 - 5 can't be too bad?
-
I'll take a ready to go rd 1 2015 CHB anytime over a 18 yo speculative pick (Blease or Strauss based on our history of drafting) You have a point we flinched first but I am very happy we have him and it's not in STK hands
-
here here.... it's about time our club had some luck on field If Jonesy is excited for 2015 so am I (I assume he was based on the tweet about recruiting) Add Brayshas and Lever/whoever (ready to go rd 1 2015 types) and I am looking forward to 2015

Thanks all you made trade week bearable Appreciate the info

I thought we did quite well While we didn't pull a big fish for us all to get excited about I still think our trading was good. We were able to get in some decent experience talent fairly cheaply and what looks like to be a ready made replacement for Chip. The we need to sell the farm for mids myth I don't agree with. We don't have any problems getting the ball we have problems using it and scoring. Without going in to a long winded yawn fest, yes we need more mids and better quality - but I don't belive (like a lot on here) that selling the farm from one A grader would have 'saved' the MFC It would help no doubt - but going in to the draft and having the option now to draft 2 high end talent (i acknowledge we've been poor in the past and our development needs work, but if i can acknowledge that others can acknowledge Viney and Roos who has Taylor now as well) have drafted well over the past year or 2. Toump will remain to be a hot topic - but he's a running outside mid - if we can get enough boys to feed him the ball he'll be good for us, no doubts in my mind at all. What is he still 19 skinny kid, lets at least give him one more pre-season before declaring a total failure Surely we can't get Brayshaw wtong (seems like a ready to go type - aka Dusty or Wines) and 3 who know Anyway long winded - I thought we've done ok - there is enough talent on the list to say with natural improvement we may not make finals but we should win more then 4 games in 2015

We did with Garlett Dees must have been pretty keen on Frost - could have been in demand? Dogs and Saints? Also leave options open for the PSD Not a superbad result as some are making out -

No Trengove to Adelaide??? haha joking about I agree with this - ready to go players who can play round 1 in 2015. They may not be perfect (development required) but big bodies who can run and tackle is what we need. No project talls/players. I see us taking Brayshaw & Petracca or Braysgaw and Lever/Mid (most likely option 2 as Petracca is all but picked for pick 1) and I suspect Lever as he is ready to go and Roos likes big mids (even if he is mooted as a KPP< if he can run he'll be a mid under Roos IMO) -

I don't think I am going out on a limb by saying he won't be on the Demonland banner haha I still lov ya GNF - appreciate the info - clearly things didn't pan out as planned -
I am not going to pretend I understand his situation because I don't' It leaves a bad taste in my mouth and while I personally don't' wish him bad luck I hope he gives Geelong what he gave us....
-
Agreed I guess the only point I am trying to make is - you can only BUY what's available There might not be any quality mids out there for us to buy It's not ideal we get 2 kids who are unknown commodities over a ready to go gun like Danger or Kennedy - but that really answers why rivals don't want to give them up either.... Also there is still the Delisted FA period - we could top up with a Lyons or Robinson as well Lets not get too depressed
-
Where does it say the rival clubs have to give up these players?

I agree mate But i guess we expect rival clubs want to give these players away when the reality is we'd have to pay massive overs to get an A or B grader who doesn't want to leave... I don't think people realise rival clubs don't want to give up developed quality players so easily The Tyson trade was really a one off, and I am sure GWS might not have done it if they had their time again (not saying Kelly won't be a player) but they gave up a fair bit for him
