Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]
Cheap Seats replied to Dr evil's topic in Melbourne Demons
What if there is no trades in the works? Maybe we are chasing picks as other clubs aren't interested in trading? Too harsh? -
Need to pass the time somehow WJ haha THis week won't end quickly enough - afterall 109 pages and no action

I still refuse to believe the hype... It's bloody exciting but I still can't believe it My main reasoning is because I've been a Demons supporter for far too long (not as long as some) but long enough to know this, doesn't happened to us. Sure we got Roos - but the AFL funded that through Peter Jackson. Goodwin was a good signing (hype wise - coaching wise we won't know for 3-4 years).... But what else? Tyson was a fluke really but talk of Danger or 2 A graders coming to the Dees - who are we kidding haha?? I am going to dis-believe - Would hate to be wrong

Unsure of how accurate but Dees won't be getting Beams. I am pretty confident about that http://www.theage.com.au/afl/beam-him-up-north-20141012-115149.html -

I hear what you're saying... And don't get me wrong would love Beams But we can only go with the facts we know - Beams wants to go to QLD to be with his family. Thats the only reason I say Beams wouldn't be a traget - can only deal with the facts at hand. And to repeat, I hear what you're saying but that is only speculation (it may be true but speculation) is it dependant on Trengove being traded? And again thanks for the input you know - I too realise things change and can change quickly in footy. info that was right can change pretty quickly -

A risky move by Roos and co - Beams is an absolute star though Cheers for the info PB -

Interesting Beams is a very good footy player - I can't see him at the Dees as the only reason he's leaving the Pies is to be closer to his dad.... I don't know why the MFC would be invoied Am not saying you're lying PB but it don't make sense to me If the Pies refuse to deal with Brisbane - then maybe GWS is an option for Beams? Which is why I can see us being involved to get a GWS mid, picks (2 or 3) to pies and beams to GWS (as they'll be trading for Griffen as well I can see them giving up something) And geting picks for Trengove to facilitate this trade makes sense - otherwise I have no idea what we're doing - I don't see us chasing picks Interesting times -

Im not 100% sure... he may not have I know Roosy is interested in winning games so i may have just assumed the no DH policy was still in effect from prior eras -

I just want to win games of footy - that builds a good culture. Stong leaders (which sadly we might not have atm - although Jones, Vince, Goodwin and Roos aren't a bad start) I don't like the no DH policy... if they can play get them in (for the right price).... have clauses and leaders around them Take akker as a prime example.... clear DH but absolute gun in a great team with great leaders -

With GWS making big plays for players is it possible we are trying to maneuver for a Sheil or Greene? I don't buy in to rumours but the one in this thread I actually tend to believe. Greene or Sheil would be an upgrade on Trenners (as much as I like Jack both those 2 have more upside) -

I guess those blokes (I am sure it won't be hard to guess who you're refering to) don't have any value and moving them on isn't really a big deal It's the Trengove or Toump or Nev Jet kind of trades (not saying we should trade any of them) that get the results. Its a tough game and Wins aren't getting any easier - All i can really think of to justify the Trengove trade is he is not 100% and may never be again and that's why they're willing to move him on for the right price. He actually has value -

Heckled? Haha nah I wouldn't have thought much. You need someone else to be interested to get anything for him in the first place. don't get me wrong I like Garland he's a decent player and maybe a project forward for 2015? But he's no world beater. Would love to see him and some of the other boys have some success -

I can't answer that as I don't know the reasoning for the trade - at the moment it's an assumption we're trading a bloke who wishes to stay (we dont' know that for sure) All I am asking is how willing are you to make the hard moves to win games and win consistently? Take the emotion out of the equation - We all love Trenners but, there are no gaurentee that Trengove will ever be 100% again - are you willing to make a move for a bloke who can? It's a tough question isn't it? -

A serious question to the masses of the 50 years since we last won a flag (im an 80s baby so i've only really followed for the last 15 - 20 years), we've had probably 10 - 12 really strong years, a lot of [censored] years and some mediocre times. How willing as a club are we to be ruthless for success one way or the other?? There is a fine line here between ruthlessness and stupidity - but we've seen the big clubs make big moves how willing are we? -
Haha don't say that it's sacrilegious You'll upset the conspircy theorists

It's one of thoes moves where you'd love to know the thinking or whats happening behind the scense before it happens - but we can't and may never know As you said rfpc they'll want to get this move right because if they get it wrong it will upset a lot of people including me. I don't think the clubs had better people in charge for a very long time (Roos, Viney, Mahoney) so I trust their decision making.... I love Tengove but facts are he's never set the world on fire and his injury could be an issue Interesting times ahead - let's hope they get it right -
If he dosen't re-sign with the Crows its a big chance Haven't heard anything though
