Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Cheap Seats replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Love the work on this thread Thanks for the input everyone - especially WJ and others for their insights to how this all works -
Our game is soft enough when it comes to punishing contact... I'm not upset Merrett got off, would have been nice to see one of our blokes go that hard when the ball was there to be won... And before u get your knockers in a knot it was a spoil attempt not a king hit... Watch netball if u dislike contact
-
Fair enough If it cheers u up (which it probably won't) at least this year we've been in games against top and bottom sides. It seems to be 1 qtr every game we lose the game. Rewatch the win vs the tigers or bombers that always cheers me up
-
Thats not better then we r now??? Some ppl r hard to please haha But thanks for conributing to the self hate depression site that is Demonland - If I wasn't a Demon myself I'd get a real kick out of this place
-
Disappointing loss - keeps with theme of our year to date - close but not close enough! We should have won that game - poor kicking for goal and bad decision making killed us - the game should have been iced before that last qtr fade out. But rather then just focus on the obvious negatives from today I thought we were good for 3 qtr (bar obvious errors) and poor kicking for goal).... If the boys can just clean up their poor decision making and disposal and we can draft another mid or 2, get Hogan in and get a big Maxy Gawn fit, i'd be confidentt we can win games like these pretty soon

Because its a football forum and ppl are allowed to share their opinion! Don't get me wrong you're right about the majority of us have no idea but we are allowed an opinion on the matter

I doubt he'd be guaranteed 700k per season. I'm sure he'd have to meet criteria to get the whole lot.

Paul Roos signs for third year
Cheap Seats replied to Its Time for Another's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks GNF - I've doubted your stuff in the past but you can't deny you've been pretty close to spot on a a fair few occasions. thanks for passing on your info There is a lot of water to go under the bridge with the Bummers saga - But I am warming to Bomber as the next coach with another succssion plan (ie ling as an assistant for a few years then take the reins) Clearly Bomber would want to coach and it depends if Roos stays the 3rd year but I wouldn't mind it. I can't see Roos just packing up and leaving without finding a suitable successor... and I think Bomber fits Roos criteria (he has experience, can develop and has the same belives on how footy should be played which Roos is trying to instill in the Dees and on fox you can see the chemistry and Bomber and Roos have - there oculd be something there) Anyway I am not too fussed about Frawley - if he stays all good but I kind of like the idea of getting a pick and trading it for another quality GWS mid (i don't believe well go after Patton, Boyd or Cameron as GWS won't let them leave) Dees playing ok footy, exciting off field decisions to come I am starting to feel good again about being a Demon -
A few facts on our low scoring this season
Cheap Seats replied to Dee Vo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Big Mitch would have made a massive difference this year... Still miss the big fella In saying that I am happy with the direction of the club and improvement from the boys. no doubt there are some holes in the list and some disappointments this year but overall it's been encouraging. Defence wins premierships or so I hear so no complaints form me -

I cna't see Roos leaving without pointing a successor which fits exactly what he wants....... Would be very happy to hear Roosy has re-sgined though -
How long has Watts been in the system?? 6 yrs? The sooner ppl realise he ain't Carey the better you will all feel. watts is not Ablett or Judd or J Brown - he is a tall quick skillfull player but no world beater (see Clinton Young) Watts is weak as pi$$ but he uses the ball really well and set up a lot of our opportunities today... u need to take the good with the bad with Watts. He won't be a world beater but when he has the ball he generally uses it very well
-
I thought they were ok today No massive errors (I can think of off the top of my head) and both contributed - i'd give them games next week
-
That 3rd qtr against a genuine side was encouraging.... We all know there are facets of the game the Dees need to improve, I hope they keep working hard.... I am sad we lost and frustraded in the errors in the last but there were some good signs as well.. I love Pigdogs work the last few weeks u could argue his miss cost us the game not just, Jones, Dawes and Grimes errors.... There is something to build with though Tappy played ok today i thought and Blease conrtributed Dunn - T Mac and Jetter were solid down back for most of the day We clean our disposals and decisoin making which has dogged us all year and we might look ok
-
Its not about one kick - we lost due to many errors The kick wasn't great that's not my argument - u can also find multiple errors in the last which lost us the game If u want to dwell on one incident and blame that on the loss then find another bozo to argue with - thats my point
-
Haha yep they did - they made it up as they went I don't care if they pay holding the ball just be consistent with both teams and the umps weren't
-
Who was he going to kick it to??? U can argue all day the about obvious or you can look at what they're trying to do - Dawes put it in to space for the boys to run on to (no one did why aren't you asking that question why no one got to the contest???) And what about the butchering of the ball going forward in the last - there was 3 occasions in 5 mins in the last qtr melb butchered taht could have been goals or scoring shots - that blease miss highlights how poor we are moving the ball (that should have been a goal they [censored] up) There r more reasons then Dawes boming to space as to why we lost - but if you want to continue to argue the obvious u see on TV then I refuse to amuse u
-
All errors that cost us the game no doubt - so did all the soft frees paid to Poooort in the 2nd and the Watts in the 3rd I can forgive these errors as in the heat of the battle the boys tried to win the game.... Lets analyise the whole contenst and not isolate one or two incdents late..... it did looks selfish from Jones and i have no doubt he'd take it back but he tired to create something to win the game - like the Dees of 2014 just not good enough... yet
-
yep that Watts free in the 3rd was a shocker Holding the ball was paid for some and not others - seemed to even up in the 2nd half though (cost a goal or 2 but hell it don't matter now does it umpire) We're a better team but skills and decision making are lacking - coughed up the ball to easily and butchered scoring shots - there is hope we can keep improving there That Dawes kick is forgivable as he put it to space for someone to run on to.... Grimes and Jones''s error were not forgivable
-
Harsh the other captian playing on wasnt his finest moment either
-
Soft free kicks won port the game but lets not kid ourselves lads poor skills and decisoins lost us the game - how we butchered scoring shots in the last resulted in the loss
-
Loose across half back or not he was a lot better in the 3rd and I am no Watts supporter
-
Unbelievable stuff - holding the ball they don't pay consistently both ways and that final free kick was the icing on the cake of stupidity
-
Haha we say that every year BB Lets hope we can finish 2014 with a bang (although part of me does want a good pick - i'd still rather see the boys get some reward for hard work)
-
I agree CB I don't like it ATM - boys first instinct is to go backwards or sideways - under certian circumstances i agree but when you win the ball and have run it should be all forward movement
-
Wot a man - He missed that easy goal I'll forgive that becuase I love his effort
