  1. How could i forget Actually i was there and that was poor haha
  2. So whats the solution jackaub? Fire everyone, create unstability? Continue to damage the 'culture' of the club. Show the players there is no direction or leadership so they continue their careers elswhere? U hit the nail on the head when in your above post you said we were outplayed. The amazing thing about footy is teams don't change much from week to week - you continue to have the same problems week to week until you develop or recruite a team who can do what you want. The reality is that this club has been playing under Roos for 18 months and the list has been completely turned over. Apart from a Port Adeliaide miracle (which i don't see happening as we don't have the cattle they did) I am really happy the team is competitive most weeks. A couple years ago this was a 100pt flogging. There is no excuses from my end, they boys were soundly beaten yesterday. My point is - we are a young "team'. Yes i know we have some experience which hasbeen brought in but as a Team the boys haven't played enough games together to be consistent week in week out. You combine that with injuries and bring in young players and your Team has holes in it which other teams can exploit. yesterday Port smashed us in clearences and controlled the ball. We as a team couldn't counter their run and carry becuase of multiple reasons you explained. Can Roos perform a miracle in 18 months and turn us in to Port - i'd say no he is no miracle bringer. But he is doing a couple things which the MFC need badly. bringing Development and Stability Some people need to accept that the Dees haven't been anything more then a bottom 6 side for years and this year we are finally making some steps up the ladder - they just won't be massive miracle steps (although I would love that)
  3. Tackling pressure was definetly down today - which might indicate a lack of effort and is a fair and reasonable argument But also after qtr time our boys didn't get their hands on the footy often enough. Port smashed us in the middle then out ran us. Port got their tales up in the 2nd after a few soft free kicks and ran away with the game literally. Once they got their tales up they continued to build confidence kept winning the footy and kicked some ridiculous goals. It wasn't a great game toady but for me it just showed once again that our biggest issue is lack of quality midfielders. And there is no quick fix If we can play games on our terms - Lots of stoppages and contested footy I reckon we will win a good majority of games - but if good teams beat us up in the middle and run (Port, Hawks, Freo, Swan - damn there is theme here) we are not a good enough side at the moment to compete We need a Toump/stretch to stand up and run and carry - we need a quality half back or two who use the ball well and run (Salem) and we need some quality indise boys who run *Tyson... alex NB, Van Demon berg, Petracca etc?) we've got good building blcoks but they're all kids - its going to take time sadly and today showed again we lack those real good quality mids
  4. Im not going to get carried away with emotions From what I saw we got hammered in the middle and out ran by a far better side. Its an easy to say it's as simple as the midfield because a lack of effort or experience was also a factor for some players today. But a young kid who's played (9 games?) led the way in the middle today - thats the real shame on our side. When Jones was cut out after qtr time the only player to stand up in the middle was a 19 yo. We need more quality in the middle - first hands on ball as we have a lot of other good pieces
  5. Getting flogged in the midfield No other suprises
  6. Second week in a row we've been beaten by a team with bigger bodied mids Our biggest weakness was exposed again Not a great night but I don't think it was the end of the world. Good to see the boys get on a run - need to keep developing and stay course Overall disappointing though
  7. Another reason to say thanks? It was a loose statement as I don't know exactly what happened - but I wish Col all the best for his future
  8. Posters have their own views on Col, and rightly so after he walked out of the club for 'success' or money But Id welcome back col to the mcg for a farewell or thank you. It might be a little over the for a bloke who didn't quite make it but I think as a mark of respect and being a former long time player at the Dees it would be a nice gesture The MFC righting some of the wrongs of the past and showing respect (even if we don't agree with it) for a former soldier
  9. thought it was great very glad i was there and the doubled up for the dawn service.... was special
  10. He had a falling out with Mick last year if i remember correctly
  11. The silly season has started early this year I heard Danger and Tex want to come to the Dees as well..... Bernie has been in their ear.... oh wait that was last year
  12. What Song said.... Stats don't mean much to me - they can be formatted to suit any argument I don't rate Viv that highly - ok player nothing special more depth - just my opinion But hey every dog has it's day (for lack of better words) I wouldn't be upset if he dominated 2015
  13. Fair enough too Illdieademon But this is an opinion based forum....
  14. The same could be said for when Essendon were on the Peptides that other clubs were unfailry unadvantaged to play the Bombers....... Really it's just like sides playing the MFC for the past 7 years When hasn't the competition been compromised..... no offence but Rubbish argument... Essendon should be punnished if found guilty
  15. I think you're right with your observations Bendigo Demon. I've only watched the boys on TV over the past couple of weeks, my observations are: The boys are looking better on attack and rebound - i really do think Toump and Salem with the right support will excel behind the ball. They'll make mistakes, but I reckon you'll accept mistakes (like getting caught with the ball) over not being able to play. But I also noticed we drop away really quickly when our prime ball winners go missing. Unfortunetly we are going to have to rely on Michie, Bail, M jones, etc until our young boys come on (Toump, Petracca, Brayshaw) I like what I see but a unfortuenlty a few more years before we are real contendars me thinks All the new boys really add something - I like them all and Frosty, I like Frost, I think he'll replace Chip nicely
  16. Pretty confident a few boys were rested at half time...... Im not expecting a top 8 finish this year but there were some good signs, especially in the first half. Had a few good opportunites in the 2nd half, didn't convert for multiple reasons............. No injuries no worries I reckon
  17. True u did - should stop reading on the train Anyway in the end i ended up agreeing with you
  18. with out trying to get in to a drawn out debate (which sadly will happen) I just found this part amusing.... of all the draft picks you've chosen (Scully, Blease, Strauss you know the list) you've picked the more successful picks.... Successful I will hear you laugh - if you look at the MFC picks in isolation I reckon Toump and Watts will probably combined end up playing more games then the above failed list put together (including Trengove and others)... surely that makes them somewhat successful picks even if they haven't set the world on fire - at least they are AFL players Rating Toump is clearly too early - if you want to compare him to Wines go ahead but I am not going to wast my time comparing apples to bananas Anyway continue on - i am not saying your opinion is wrong i just found it amusing
  19. I love hearing this.... but in saying that Al has a point But I am sure the club are keeping an eye on him and he has a program set by the club (it probably dosen't include Xmas day) but I have a lot of respect for this kid.
  20. I beleive the only way to determine this is we - have more photos - compare against other bikini's Cheers WJ
  21. Thats very bitter and highly optimistic
  22. That is bloody terrible.......... I loved it
  23. If you keep renewing you won't be giving the grog too soon! haha Required substance when watching Dees games
  24. While I don't disagree with what you've said, i think its a nice theory that might not necissarily work in practice. Are you saying you wouldn't take Dusty Martin if availible (theoretically).... And how has that theory worked for us in the last 8 or so years? Keep drafting kids with no senior leadership or support? As i said I don't agree with the idea but in practice i think we need an antique or 2 in the side and especially someone who can win their own ball. If no dh policy apply with Roos how do you explain the Prince's arrival?? As a DFA (not a draft pick) if a spot was available he wouldn't be the worst option, but I am no expert, any senoir body mid is worth a look at
  25. Good call Jaded So much bad luck - hopefully at least Gawn can come good!
