NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Yeah a few have served me pasta over the years. They’re like a Collingwood supporter, but with teeth and still have half a soul remaining.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
If we don’t win the flag, I’ll be fine with any team winning except Collingwood. [censored] Collingwood.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Carlton get good value out of their stoppages. Don’t necessarily win lots more than their opposition, but when they do it comes out front quickly and upsets opposition defensive structure. We had that quality in 2021 and would love to get it back. They played a very similar style of game to us. They’re showing tonight how to create a contest and not allow a running team to get out like the Pies did last night. Not sure exactly how they’re structuring up from watching on tv, but it’s impressive and we should study it hard.

POSTGAME: QF vs Collingwood
He’s not the reason we lost, but Jack Viney will be disappointed with himself tonight. 0 clearances. 1 tackle. Is that the first game in his career where he hasn’t had a clearance? He’s usually a frothing maniac when the pressure is on. Tonight was a huge let down when we needed leaders to steady us. Hope he has a huge game next week.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
He can’t get off. Head high. High impact. Thats 2 weeks. Intentional or accidental is all that’s up for debate, so he gets 2-4 weeks. 2 weeks is the minimum possible outcome. Fantastic he will miss a flag!

POSTGAME: QF vs Collingwood
Maynard is gone for two weeks minimum, regardless of intentional or not. Head high. High impact. Thats two weeks. If then deemed intentional it will rise to 4. The only positive to come from tonight is knowing Maynard will miss out on a premiership this year. I hope it haunts him for the rest of his life. Worthless piece of [censored].

GAMEDAY: QF vs Collingwood
Forecast much better than it was a day or two back. It won't be overly wet tonight and won't really be much of a factor now. We'll win a hard fight tonight. Petracca and Viney to bulldoze this one. Trac to notch up top votes for the Gary Ayres best player of finals award. He is primed and looked ominous last week against the Swans when the whips were cracking.

Todd Goldstein
Not a bad idea as Gawn ruck cover for a year or two if Grundy goes. He’d be cheap as chips.

Welcome to Demonland: Shane McAdam
Not a small forward as written in the article. 186cm tall, plays taller as a marking type like Melksham and Fritsch. He’s a medium forward with a great leap and a strong mark for his size. Took a ripper against us late in the season. Doesn’t kick bags but consistently hits the scoreboard (averages 1.7 goals a game). He’d basically replace Melksham next year. Mature age, injuries, wouldn’t command a lot at the trade table. 3rd rounder for proven afl capable level depth would be a decent outcome for us.

Jake Lever Re-Signs for 4 Years
Huge news that just popped up out of nowhere. Though Max is our captain by title and spiritual leader, I see Lever as our main onfield leader. His voice and onfield coaching is critical to this teams success. Great news he’s extended without fuss!

What They Are Saying at Victoria Park: QF 1
Awesome. Let’s make AFL fixturing even less equal! While we’re at it, let’s just make the trade period permanently open so the rich clubs can trade guns in each week to play the opponents of their choosing too! Modern sport changes for the sake of change and supposed excitement are braindead. How good is the stand rule?!

The Sam Flanders Thread
True, but Hollands would be easier to get because the Suns don’t want him. They’re different players. One can’t get a game in a trash forward line. The other has been their best midfielder in the second half of the season. I’d love to get Flanders, but we don’t have the currency unless we’re happy to trade them pick 15. We’d be better served using 15 as part of a trade to upgrade picks this draft IMO.

Bayley Fritsch Sent for Scans
You overestimate internal communication at big organizations! Lest we forget the 2017 finals marketing fiasco 😠 That said I think Fritsch is fine. There’s been no reason to think otherwise outside internet rumors.

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
Getting 3 tickets was hard. MCC just complete failure. MFC couldn’t get 3 together when requiring one visitor. Wound up in general admission level 4 nose bleeds. Better than nothing!

Elijah Hollands
I said back in July that I'd be happy to bring Flanders across for a second rounder. In the VFL he was absolutely dominant and had a patch where he was averaging approx 40 disposals. He's clearly going to have an AFL career. He showed a nice accurate 40 metre kick and ability to find a lot of ball inside and outside. Also looks to have decent power for a midfielder not overly big. He's been given more midfield time at AFL level recently and flourished as a result, accumulating a lot more ball. At worst, he'd be good inside or outside midfield depth for us to replace Jordon, Harmes, Dunstan etc. At best, he's another good mid in the rotation and takes Sparrow or the likes place. Elijah Hollands... I haven't seen any attributes to get excited about yet. He's struggled at AFL level and not been great at VFL level either. At underage level he could hit the scoreboard, put good defensive pressure on and was a marking threat. He hasn't been able to translate that since being drafted. Maybe it's the bigger bodies, but he just seems uncompetitive and whatever athletic advantage he had when drafted is no longer visible. If you could get him for a 3rd rounder or something to see if he can turn it around, then maybe you'd consider him. The fact he's not getting a game in a bottom team for years on end says a lot about how far behind his colleagues he is, most of whom aren't great and wouldn't get a game for us. He excelled at underage level as a mid-sized forward target. He's not a tall forward though at approximately 190cm, but was a target similar to Fritsch is and used his athleticism to be a threat. Most similar player I could compare him to is Oliver Henry at the Cats, but remove any competitiveness. Pre-draft he was able to hit the scoreboard and push higher up the ground at stages. Recruiters thought he had good midfield potential but it hasn't eventuated. Not someone to get excited about IMO.
