Worst news I’ve read all week. We’d been maintaining contact in hopes of getting him across in future, so that’s really disappointing to hear. Kid looks like the next Trac. Suns have a gun on their hands. What a waste!

Moving Petty out of defense was a structural mistake. We had other options for tall forwards, but his absence has been felt in defense. Lever has been forced to play as a traditional man on man key defender instead of a roaming third tall intercepting general. Teams have recognized our structural weakness and exploited it. Our premiership was based off their dominance and one of the statistically one of the stingiest defenses in AFL history. That defensive strength has been removed, so we have one less weapon and one more thing for the opposition to exploit. It’s the main reason why we can beat up on weaker teams, but can’t compete with other top 8 competitors. There’s still time to adjust our gameplan and structure this year though. If we don’t change both structure and gameplan though, we will not win this year.

I couldn’t care less about our game this week. Friday night against Carlton should be exciting, but this is the least excited I’ve felt for an upcoming match since 2019 when we were bottom four. Well probably win against an injured depleted Carlton, but who cares. If we win, big whoop. If we lose, we’re rubbish.

Insane that Cerra got off and the 17 others didn’t. Some with less dangerous tackles too. This season in general has been ****house. Not only has the tribunal and umpiring been poor, but the quality of football and general excitement from watching games has been rock bottom. Can’t remember a less interesting season. Great job AFL.

Also well done Jayden Hunt tonight. Currently has 31 disposals at 87% and doing all he can to keep the Eagles from folding. I’ll always have a soft spot for Jayden. He was super unlucky to miss playing in our premiership. He’s definitely better than some of the spuds we’ve had running around recently.

Yep Dogs looking like stealing it here. Side note, I love the look of Bailey Humphrey as a potential future elite midfielder. I can see why our recruiting staff tried to trade up to get him last year. He’s the perfect blend of power, aggression and explosiveness. Very similar to Petracca. Would not be against trading first rounders to get him across.

We’re wasting a premiership quality list again this year. Unfortunately it looks like the end is coming quickly for some of our senior players, Gawn included :( This year is turning into the most disappointing I can remember, and that’s because we should be right amongst it but instead lose on repeat to any decent teams. Our record against top 8 teams speaks for itself. Our gameplan this year doesn’t cut it. What a [censored] waste

Well and top and should be fine th we in front. Defensive pressure and transition into our zone has been very good. Just need to finish our work and get more reward on the scoreboard for our control.

Yep. Don’t let that get in the way of the discussion though 😜 We tried to get him and missed our chance. His contract is too big for us to take on now. We’ll need to look elsewhere or just continue to develop JVR and Jefferson.
