I couldn’t care less about our game this week. Friday night against Carlton should be exciting, but this is the least excited I’ve felt for an upcoming match since 2019 when we were bottom four. Well probably win against an injured depleted Carlton, but who cares. If we win, big whoop. If we lose, we’re rubbish.

Insane that Cerra got off and the 17 others didn’t. Some with less dangerous tackles too. This season in general has been ****house. Not only has the tribunal and umpiring been poor, but the quality of football and general excitement from watching games has been rock bottom. Can’t remember a less interesting season. Great job AFL.

Also well done Jayden Hunt tonight. Currently has 31 disposals at 87% and doing all he can to keep the Eagles from folding. I’ll always have a soft spot for Jayden. He was super unlucky to miss playing in our premiership. He’s definitely better than some of the spuds we’ve had running around recently.

I can see why our recruiting staff tried to trade up to get him last year. He’s the perfect blend of power, aggression and explosiveness. Very similar to Petracca. Would not be against trading first rounders to get him across.

Unfortunately it looks like the end is coming quickly for some of our senior players, Gawn included :( This year is turning into the most disappointing I can remember, and that’s because we should be right amongst it but instead lose on repeat to any decent teams. Late last season when Selwood kicked his hand and broke bones. Not even a free kick paid for kicking in danger! He returned wearing a brace after a week and was limited through the end of the season.

We were keen on him at draft obviously and have stayed in touch. Let’s wait and see what happens over the next few years at the Suns… He’s had a few good games this year. It’s good to see him stepping up as a focal point. He’s been better than our tall forward this year for the most part!

Apparently he had tightness and they’re doing it as a precaution. Played out the last quarter ok, so hopefully it’s nothing.

If we lose this match at the MCG to Freo like last year then this year can bugger off.

He’s putting together a very good season and would be pushing for a top five finish in our best and fairest so far. He randomly costs us a bad goal every week, but outside that he’s become seriously well rounded and versatile too.

Pressure needs to go on our midfield. With Clarry, Trac and Viney getting service from Gawn and Grundy, we should never get belted around the stoppages. To lose clearances 10-0 in the second quarter should be career ending stuff. Heat needs to come on Yze as the midfield coach. We’ve been beaten up around the stoppages consistently this year and it’s become a problem for us being that our game is built off contest and our stats are around the ball.

After an incredible third quarter, this final quarter has been gutless again. Regardless of the outcome here, we have a lot of work to do before September if we want to compete for the flag.
