  1. It’s a very even year because most teams are 💩. Pies are top of the ladder and if you put them against most premiers they’d rate as very weak and a forgettable lucky team like the Bulldogs of 2016. Whoever wins this year will be a weak premier IMO. We could definitely steal another flag.
  2. Agreed. There’s first round picks and then there’s first round picks. Early first rounders are much greater opportunity to get a club changing superstar like Trac or Clarry. Late first rounders and you hope for a Bowey type who could have a good career but far less likely to be a superstar and change a clubs fortunes. We tried trading three first rounders in the teens for pick 6 last year and got knocked back. We’d need a top 5 pick out of Freo to have any chance to move up the draft board for Reid or an elite talent. Talk of chasing Oscar Allen is misplaced also. Contracted for another two years. West Australian local lad. Already on $800,000-$850,000. His next contract will be a million plus that we likely don’t have and we’d be convincing him to move away from home too. More chance of landing a King brother or basically anyone else in the league!
  3. That's not even including the missed shots! The past 4-5 matches our accuracy has tanked to become worst in the league again. The whole forward line needs an overhaul but unfortunately we just don't have the players on the list to fix it.
  4. He’s having a great year and should be top 5 in our BnF. He’s one of our only players who’s improved this season. Most others have gone backwards. Would love to see him in at more centre bounced but that would require Goodwin to try something different and he won’t.
  5. I assume Jefferson is still a few years off? We desperately need a quality marking forward who hits the scoreboard. It’s a real shame Larkey re-signed at North as he would’ve been perfect. Are there any other realistic options out there? Himmelberg is not worth 900k so he’s out.
  6. Sad part is most of his team mates are the same and he wasn’t our worst tonight. Petty, Jordon, Chandler, Gawn and others had absolute shockers and would get dropped if the selection committee selected based on form and output.
  7. Choco Williams needs to get stuck into the kicking training again. Our accuracy has been horrible the last 5 matches and is basically the difference now.
  8. 32 years old next year. He’s has knee recos and the back of his head has been caved in with the constant punches over the last few years. He’s near the end and isn’t going to have much of a meaningful impact onfield going forward.
  9. This pathetic capitulation is now effecting our percentage and could cost us too 4. WAKE THE [censored] UP YOU WEAK DOGS
  10. Lever has been strong too. Max has cracked the [censored] and thrown in the towel this year.
  11. What an embarrassing final quarter. Outscored 5 goals to zip when the games on the line. Coach needs a rocket. Team selection wrong. Team balance wrong. No changes made even when getting belted around the ball and on turnover.
  12. Aaaaaand they’ve broken us. Hate to think what hey would’ve done to us with their bad injury list. What a disgrace. One step forward two steps back.
  13. He was obviously underdone and it was an obvious error by the club to drop Tomlinson for him. Everyone called it before the ball was bounced and it’s played out that way. Petty’s 2023 as a whole has been a major disappointment. Was poor up forward but then struggled in defense where he’s previously excelled.
  14. Probably game over now. We can’t score. How were the third highest scoring team is beyond me with this abysmal forward line.
  15. Career worst game from Langdon tonight and easily his worst season as a Demon. He’s been soft, fumbly and shanking every kick. Need him to lift and get stuck in like his opposite winger mate Hunter
  16. Hunters been good again tonight and surprisingly hard at it for a winger.
  17. Viney is carrying our midfield this past few weeks. Such a workhorse and getting back to his damaging best. Gawny is really struggling. The balance with him and Grundy just isn’t working and it’s effected Gawns form badly now. Need to rethink how we use him and have a word to the umpires about how often he’s blocked or belted off the ball!
  18. Rubbish quarter. Bombing high to smalls in the wet will never work. Smalls not locking ball in either. It’s gonna be a long night.
  19. 6 weeks for Rohan there
  20. Not a good start. Our forward setup is rubbish for a top four team.
  21. I really want to see a good game from Kozzie tonight. He's been poor for the past two months, averaging less than a goal a game and a touch under 9 disposals. If he were being judged on performance and not potential, he'd be dropped. He needs to stop flying for marks and stay down ready to crumb. He hasn't marked a single one of those silly attempts, but rather has cost the team 20+ scoring opportunities across the season I'd wager. He's such a great talent and a proven match winner. He needs to get back into form if we're to challenge at the pointy end of the year.
  22. If we’ve dropped Tomlinson and then Petty plays forward then the selection committee are as dumb as dog****. It’s been proven time and time again that we need the three tall defenders for our structure to work. We’ve played our best football over the last three years that way and struggled when it’s just been May and Lever. Petty has to play back. Petty was having a poor year both up forward and in defense and should’ve been dropped prior to injury. On form this year, Tomlinson has been better and had a ripper against the Pies. Bringing in an underdone player who was in poor form and dropping a fit player who was in form is poor selection. Petty is better, but not right now. Would’ve liked to see Bowey in again too. He was killing it before the concussion. Hopefully he showed good form in the VFL and gets promoted again. Although form apparently doesn’t matter to our selection committee…
  23. Ah my bad. The preview ended at Reiwoldt and I didn’t click the Twitter link to expand further! Still I expected him to be higher than 51%. The idea that Naughton and Daniher are better kicks for goal than him is mind boggling. Petracca down at 28% is sad. It appears nothing has changed this year regarding his poor accuracy. He’d be the undisputed best player in the league if he could nail more of his shots!
  24. Interesting that as the second highest scoring team with the third highest accuracy we somehow don't have a single player in that top group well up over the 60 mark... I expected to see Fritsch in there. We need to get our accuracy back on track as the last 3 weeks have been poor. The Collingwood match was essentially a 40 point win that we botched and made tougher than it needed to be.
  25. Just like his father. Jeff was a brilliant high leaping athletic ruckman. The change to the centre bounce ruck rules really removed one of his greatest assets in his huge leap. If Kalani winds up even close to player Jeff was then we’ve got our ruck sorted for after Gawn and Grundy are long gone.
