  1. It might not be true, but that's really disappointing. I really wanted to see him get through the entire season. Without Beamer in there, and also Mclean, we will not win many clearances. Good tanking tactic though I guess.
  2. Good to see Grimes back, if only for the fact we now know his back injury isnt serious! Well, it isnt at the moment anyway, I'm sure it will be something he and the club have to manage for his whole career, but I have faith they'll be able to. It's a very interesting bench. I'd like to see Moloney play, purely because I want him to play out a whole season. I think that would be good for him mentally to get that under his belt, and then continue on with his good form. I'd also like to see Sylvia play, as he was in great form before the suspension, and he needs to try and recapture and build upon that as quickly as possible, for both his sakes and the clubs. Morton was good last week, so he'll likely get a go, unless they're thinking of resting him. He did alot less running last week though, so maybe that was his rest? Unsure about the rest. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Spencer has barely played a full game in VFL seniors since returning from injury has he? I think he played a half in the Reserves, and most of last weeks game in the Seniors?
  3. Brisbane wont let him go, or if they are forced too it will be for Pick 3 or something very very valuable. IMO, for an unproven and injury prone ruckman, that is too much. I'd rather stick with what we've got and continue to develop the youngsters. The rucks can hold their own, and who knows how Meesen and Spencer will develop. Midfielders are the more important cog we need to work on. No use getting 50 hit outs a game if the opposition just sharks them off our mids!
  4. Yeah he is on big money. In the top 16 highest paid players in the league I remember reading? Also, he is a slowish in and under midfielder, and we have plenty of those. What we need is more outside pace and polish, so he doesnt fit the bill. Still I wouldnt mind him in Red n Blue if the price was right. He always gives his all and is hard as rock, exactly the kind of player to show the youngsters how it should be done. I feel sorry for Ball, as he is a very good player who's been cut down by injury. Before the OP, he was actually a quick mid with a good kick, but it appears the OP has robbed him of his speed, and also the penetration in his kicking. I would've had him on par with Judd before the OP actually. Yes, I think he WAS that good.
  5. Never seen him feature so high in YM's votes, and likely never will again lol
  6. Yeah wasnt great to see. Then again he weights low 70s kgs, and White weighs 105kgs.... so over 30kgs of difference lol. I'm sure he'll hear all about it from the coaching staff and will learn from it. I really like Bennell. The only problem I have with him at the moment is he isnt getting enough of the ball. When he does get it he has good dash and kicking, and I think the club should try to utilize that more. Whether that means playing him on the wing instead of in defense I'm not sure, but it's definitely his strength and hopefully we see more of it in the future, as he is wasting in shut down defensive roles IMO.
  7. Well put. He is a clubman, and should be remembered as a guy who forged a good career for himself and wound up one of our best forwards. He won us many games off his own boot, and when we played finals this decade he was a key reason. Can I also point out he is the 5th highest goal scorer in our club's long history, and is only 4 goals off overtaking one Garry Lyon. That is a fantastic achievement for someone who worked his way into the team lateish, off the rookie list, and also isnt the biggest bloke going around. You people should show some respect before turning on your own. Yes his career is close to an end, but that shouldnt discredit all he did for us for the last 10 years! The same thing happened when White, Yze etc retired, and frankly it makes me sick. You lot are f*cking pathetic. Mods should ban the lot of you!
  8. GET YA CAPES ON BOYS!!! IT'S WHARFIE TIME!!! *All hail Teh Pav*
  9. Epic Fail Thread. No but seriously I'll miss reading your posts Joeboy. Perhaps we can start an "epic fail of the week" thread in your absence? I'm sure this last few rounds are going to be brilliant quality football. It would be fun to point out the biggest stuff up of the week :D (and lets hope it's not winning...)
  10. Sh*t game by two disgusting clubs.
  11. When life gives you lemons, just say [censored] the lemons and bail
  12. Yep, sign me up for pick #5 in the National Draft! Can I ask how old you are? Do you understand what we as a club are going through at the moment? I'm sure the club has read your email and are deeply concerned! Here's what probably happened. *Techie reads email* "lol get a load of this guy. He wants us to WIN. Hey Gertrude check it out!" "Omg wtf lmao!!! okok.... deep breaths Gertie.... ok send him a reply saying we're trying to win.... that'll keep the old croan happy rofl! By the way bring in Juice, Valenti, Mckenzie, Bail, and anyone else who's name I dont know. And drop Robbo and make up some sh*t about Grimes' back. Dont wanna accidentally win one!" That scenario is entirely plausible, and likely did happen. We are a team that's in rebuilding at the moment. We are not going to play finals this season, and likely not next season either. What we should be doing is stockpiling young talent before the draft is comprimised next year onwards by Gold Coast entering the league. Think about it. If Carlton didnt beat us in Rnd 22 2007, they wouldnt have Judd. We are now in the same position, and we cant afford to stuff it up this time. We can have 2 picks in the top 5, one of them being pick #1, or 1 pick in the top 5. You're telling us you'd rather take that one pick so that you can watch the team beat up on Failmantle, Bitchmond, West Coke, and the Poos? You sir are certifiably mad! Noone will remember those wins as anything bu the ones that cost us Tom Scully!
  13. Sorry how many goals did all the above kick in their first seasons respectively? After 4 games, Jurrah is statistically better than all of them comfortably, aswell as Fevola, Tredrea, Lloyd, and pretty much every other gun forward of the last decade. Let's not bother to mention the excitement and impact he is having on the club also. This has all been done off no preseason, and learning English as he goes! So how are we kidding ourselves that we are impressed by young Liam thus far? Good post guy. Super good post. I'm glad some wisdom has been restored to Demonland with 'bjmfcmcc' signing up!
  14. Rest up and kill it next year Brad :D
  15. Hoorah for Cheney! Has been stiff this year I reckon, and hopefully he gets a good run for the remainder of the season. Best of luck to Jordie and Valenti also.
  16. Why isnt Cam Bruce in the poll Yze Magic? Do you have something against him?
  17. God you are so smart and awesome.
  18. This is my guess for the top 5 1. Moloney 2. Davey 3. Bruce 4. Warnock 5. Sylvia Moloney definitely deserves it this year. He has been consistently good all year, leads the team in clearances, and has become a fantastic leader also.
  19. Navy cardigan with a classy little MFC logo kthxbai
  20. I agree we have had quality players Sentra, and I listed all the players you mentioned in my initial post in this thread. BUT, none of them were elite IMO. You wouldnt say any of them were amongst the top echelon of players in the league would you? Not meaning to discredit them, as they were all great players and club champions who we all love, but what it does highlight is our lack of quality midfielders over the last 20 years and currently. We may already have one on our list in Grimes, Morton, Sylvia etc. Football is a game won and lost in the midfield, and we havent had the quality to get us there in my lifetime. I'm hoping we do in the future though! Good god I want to see a red n blue flag!!!
  21. It's a pretty depressing thread. I reckon we may be the only team of the last 20 years to not have an elite midfielder! Let's hope Scully or whoever we pick up turns out to be that player, because lord knows we need one if we're going to win a flag down the track.
  22. Can we just give the award to Moloney now? Far and away our most consistent player this year, and thoroughly deserves the Best & Fairest award.
