Dawes vs Pedo.... the poll
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to The Lobster Effect's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would get rid of whichever would get a something (or the best) at the trade table- probably Dawes, who has been a massive bust sadly, I was for that trade - got that one wrong. keep one as back up, help the kids, no room for both next year IMO -
Ashesh Dangol would be my favourite guitarist I've seen live
-
Guilty as charged. I want to be happy for him, I really do. I just can't
-
Think auto correct is more is the culprit

Tom hasn't improved at the speed I thought he would, thought he would have won a bluey by now. He continues to make you tear your hair out at times but he is, IMO, one of our most under-rated players on this board. Well done Tom
-
No, it sounds like your league took goal kicking much more seriously
-
Who is DEMANDING anything? without re-reading the thread I thought there was a discussion evolving about best practice at training with regards to goal kicking
-
Changing technique is a different kettle of fish
-
Completely disagree. Our own Russell Robertson went from being a terrible shot for goal to being a very good shot for goal through hard work and practice. For the practice to be most effective, it needs to be much more like a game situation than a few tired footballers having some fun kicking for goal at the end of training.
-
No, you can improve through training. our points about when the players do goal kicking and how tired they are, may seem the same, but they are not.
-
I have seen the same thing and it is why you are missing the point. Those practices are after a 5 minute break, so while they may be very tired, it is a different tired.
-
Who here is saying we are a [censored] team kicking for goal? I would have thought discussing ways to potentially improve things a perfectly legitimate conversations. Like you, I have seen the guys practice goal kicking at training. I don't remember seeing them doing it when they are sucking in deep breathes after running 50 meters and getting pounded in a marking contest.
-
The players should, IMO, do short sharp goal kicking drills through a training session and while very tired. it is rare that they are fresh when having a shot for goal in a game, nor should they be at training

Yes, you provided another potential, stupid rule change -
Rule change for 2017
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to Rod Grinter Riot Squad's topic in Melbourne Demons
No, we are talking about too many stupid rules changes, not adding more... -
The AFL have been upset at seeing the distressing scenes at Etihad stadium last night and consider it a bad look for the game. Yesterday was the final straw after a spate of injuries caused by tackles (this being the first off it's kind, but like the incident with sliding, the AFL believes it must do something). As of next year, the tackle will be allowed, but if a player chooses to tackle and his opponent gets injured in the tackle then the player runs the risk of suspension for a period directly proportional to the amount of time the opponent is injured for.

Wow, making up excuses for Sam but hanging Tom. Tom and Sam are both still young for KPD, with Tom having been in the system a full 12 months longer than Sam.
-
He contests pretty well and is very quick. he is also probably the worst kick in the team and this time next year you will be starting threads calling for him to be traded
