Rampaging Demons

Miller will never beat two or three opponents as was consistently occurring yesterday.... however, he will provide you with a strong and physical contest. this is where the forward line crumbers need to be.. what miller must do however is take advantage of his opportunities!! couple of shots yesterday he should have nailed but didn't...

purely because of our lack of a target inside 50. how many times last year did we go inside our forward 50 more than our opponents.... i think that it is an area of weakness at the moment - will be improved but paul johnson, bate and miller struggled to take a mark let a,one get enar the footy!!

It was not a part of our game that stuck out yesterday. I thought that at imes we spotted up a target alright and the run from behind was not too bad. our turnovers still haunt us though and an inability to convert!! we will enter the 50 less than our opponents, so we need to be better at converting and yesterday we lacked some polish.

must agree with the Ox..... a great concept and for $150 a year - am able to drink beer from a glass while watching the mighty dees tear up the G!!! exciting times at the demons!!

With all clubs enforced to have a week off before the season, clubs can ask for special dispensation for players that have played minimal matches, coming back from injury, etc to be allowed to play this weekend. Who would the Demons request? I would have thought Sylvia, perhaps Buckley but most others have played, so.....

Ironic that it is called The Footy Show when that is the least talked about topic!! I watched it for our sponsor announcement, the preseason lunch and also Hutchy... and of course the news on sylvia!! Marmalade used the same jokes from year to year and was old and boring - just look at the circles under the clowns eyes.. the bloke in the warmups, jeremy cawley, is much funnier... Hutchy is honest and think that his stories should be treated by the show with greater respect, hence the new set for him. as for the players, it just confirms that if they did not make it as footballers, then the unemployment rate would be up a few more percent!!

think you might be on the money fairbump!! is great news for the club but also for the stynes led group.... another side issue - noted that manly is sponsored by mack trucks, which i believe is run by volvo australia.. now there is a perfect fit for a tyre company!!!

i saw him turn it over a few times on the weekend with passes to spectators two rows back.. good luck to him but think we have better optiosn and he was never going to the difference between us winning and losing!!

at least now the Pies will not have the issue of having to select Maxwell because he is captain - they may be able to play at full strength!! double the penalty upon appeal.... never get reported when you actually play the footy - what he did was go past the ball again to inflict damage on a rookie... no guts in that!!

saw the same article.. along with players like luke brannan from the swans and hawks too.... obviously, the job network has clicked into full steam....

rather bartram be the tagger - as he can at least win his own ball.... a massive year for lynden dunn - needs to make a position his own.. last year we wanted him to be the next chad cornes... well, still be a good option for that!!

think that Volvo has upgraded their sponsorship!!

he is a long and penetrating kick when fully fit - which was??? had a terrific first season but we need to see that again.... what he does add is another rotation - look at last year, we were severely lacking in this department... how many times last year did we kick to a crowded forward line? allow men to drop back, flood, block gaps, etc... this bloke also bleeds red and blue... love the beemer!!

no doubt our players wish we had a wet and wild down here... vossy has his finger on the pulse - knows how hard we've been training, blah, blah....... after last season, our players deserved to be belted - lack of fitness and some of the worst skills seen of any afl side...

is it possible that we manage a core group of sponsors to upgrade, so that the we have a different major sponsor each week... while not a best case outcome, this would increase the exposure of those sponsors and possibly lead to other sponsors coming on board for one game... at the moment, without a major sponsor, we are 1.5m in the hole before the season starts!!

the sponsorship of the australian cricket team by kfc in my eyes is a disgrace.... refrred to as the official restaurant of australian cricket.. their role models eating and drinking this cr@p is all okay too!! time that the government took a stance in this and reviewed the sponsorships....

congratulations junior - definitely well earnt and is another pat on the back for the rookie system!! cam bruce - another rookie who has worked his arse off deserves his opportunity and no doubt will back junior to the hills!! you hear how much of an impact richard vandenberg had on the hawks in his years as a leader - the criteria that he placed on the leadership group and the playing group.. sam mitchell still refers to the impact he had!! if junior can instill this into our playing group, take a bit of kirk and his blood pact from the swans, well he will play an important role in the youngsters of this club and also the future direction...

harsh? we have gone down the youth path and then recruit danny hughes? like to see him prove me wrong but in his time as rookie and from sandy days, did not work hard enough going the other way and did not think that his skills were up to it...

he has already spent time on our rookie list before? i am not sure about him - has not shown much at either levels of the game but.....

Ryan Ferguson has been appointed captain after winning the best and fairest for the bloods this year.... it shows how hard the step up to the next level is!!

matthew moody is an interesting one...... injury prone but appears to be a good yougn talent!!

they offered their last pick in the 100's.... that is an insult but then again, something would have been better than nothing.... number 17 can be handed onto one of our future young guns - ah brett lovett!!

The MFC/MCC debate has been flogged to death on this site.... The MCC members have been flogegd to death on this site.... Rhino, i pay the full MCC/MFC membership of $150 which my entire family of four members pays. I also have quite a few mates that do the same - we attend most home games and no matter the predicament of this club!! Seriously, the MCC/MFC will sort itself out - the major issue is where do the rest of our supporters/members come from? The Auskick statistics are concerning and this is where we should be concentrating our efforts on as well. I love this club and there is nothing better than the Demons in September - the noise and passion of their supporters is second to none and I look forward to the resurrection of this footy club.... nothing would be better than shoving it up vlad and his partner in anderson - with onfield and off-field success!!

while disappointing, shows that we will not have guns held to our heads... will not be the difference between us winning a premiership!! the grass is not always greener!!
