  1. agree - thought that frawley was good.. his pace is fantastic!! i was most disappointed with robbo!! lacked real leadership last evening.... time for a spell.........
  2. i was of the same opinion but you cannot fathom what he brings to this young team.... i reckon junior embodies this footy club - he does not have the most talent but he brings his best effort to every game..... i also like the way that he treats the uniform - socks up!! yesterday, his chasing and tackling were excpetional... he went to other men that were not his and did everythign you would expect from a elader. at half time he gave the team a bake, and they responded.... i wish that some others would show the passion that junior does and we would be a better club for it!!
  3. thought that we were harshly treated yesterday from an inconsistency perspective!! 1. the dragging down of a player after taking a mark. i understood that if a player was not involved in teh marking contest and he dragged the player to ground, ti was 50 metres. would appear to be incorrect. 2. the hands in the back rule. saw it a couple of times around the ground where people got away with it but then pure jamie bennell is pinged for it, even though he used his forearm 3. the walking over the centre circle line, then turning your back to the opposition player. sure that this is not what the centre circles were designed for. 4. holding the ball. the old chestnut that creates plenty of unceertainty. if you get spun once is it holding the ball? if you drop the ball - is it holding the ball? if you pin one arm - is it holding the ball? yes, i know it is a hard job but all as supporters we are looking for is consistency and not for them to be consistently inconsistent!!!
  4. maric is starting to show some positives - that is what happens when there is no pressure on you to try so hard you fluff everything you do. valenti was alright last weeekdn but is no match for the ins - green is a club leader, frawley is a key back or very important to the team structure and jamar, well we need a second ruckman.... hightower is serviceable - in fact last week he was very good.. amazing what a touch of confidence can do!!! the rivers in is huge too........ our backline is starting to take shape and well, gives us something on which to build the rest of the team!!
  5. i did not think that there were that many dogs fans at the game.... they should have packed that ponsford stand out and been louder than their inspid cheer squad.. they were very quiet!! our crowd always seems to be louder than the opposition, even with such a small number - shows the passion!! and mission - what a shyte name.. reckon they look rank on the jumpers too!!
  6. Was Saturday a Demons home game? Every time the filth from the west scored a goal, up flashed Leaseplan.... I know they are a sponsor of the dogs but did not realise that they were of the demons? how does this happen?? a minor item but surely if i were a sponsor of the demons, i would not expect this sort of treatment!!!
  7. the stat that bate has the second most goal assists? taylor can give it out but struggles to take it..... back to the radio you slug!!
  8. agree with the russian!! daniel kerr started it, as per jakovich, and he won the free kick.... how about the first bounce yesterday, that went outside the circle but was not called back but when the same thing happened later on, it was called back... and the last bounce, that missed the centre by 7 metres, well... i am all for a little argy bargy but please, do not pluck kicks from nowhere.... dunn was taken down from behind if i remember correctly!!! teams are starting to respect the demons!!
  9. brian taylor may be the number 1 caller but please stick to radio... honestly, the bermuda triangle was starting to [censored] me off... anyone else notice the toal lack of statistics during the match and also replays of important events??
  10. his kicking is not penetrating - kicks it well over 50 metres..... he usually makes the right decision but in this early part of his career, you have to accept he is going to make mistakes... but some of the swithces of play yesterday, well....
  11. gerard healy's hatred towards his former club is amazing.... paul johnson delivered - he won contested footy, threw his weight around and at times negated cox. cox continued to play as a follower and pick up easy posessions. the move of lynch into the centre was the defining moment... each match shows a new positive for me...
  12. I have always had the number 3 - whether it be that traitor in healy or the sublimely gifted garry lyon.... trust me, garry is still very much aware of all happenings at the footy club.. he is good mates with jim but also with other memebrs of the mate of melbourne and team mates that are involved with the club. garry lyon will not coahc the demons in the forseeable future and why would he - we have the man i think in place. he has been terrific for the footy club and the supprort he has from connoly, etc, well.... just a side note - i thought it was all class the other week when we won that the coaching panel went through the grandstand and let the players bask in their victory... a true team player and for me, has the attributes!!!
  13. when was the last time we contested a decision and got off or got it reduced?
  14. just more dribble emerging from the worst captian in the league!!! he struggles to maintain his own position..... this club does not know it - fraser is a follower and even not that great!!! they have tried buying ruckmen - cameron wood from the lions - absolutely stinks!!! chris bryan - struggled for a game at sandy - he is pathetic!!
  15. the demons are winning clearances - we lost on the weekend i think but led the clearances for a majority of the game.... our midfield looks far more potent but that is because of the players at our disposal and being able to run 7 or 8 guys through there!!!
  16. dudley is an institution!! always a good word to say and always happy to have a chat about his beloved demons!! sometimes, the results of the raffle even make their way up on to the big screen..... usually, the prize is a signed footy but i could be wrong!!! get well dudley, you melbourne champion!!
  17. did the demons not practice their goal kicking on friday and not have a full training session... glad it worked!! newton never looked like kicking those goals on the weekend!!
  18. Petterd's use of the ball lets him down and hence not being used in the midfield. no-one can fault his endeavour or application but he needs to improve on his skills. again though, he will be a 10 year player for this club.
  19. not condoning it but it propbably was an attempt to put a good footballer of their game.... there were passages of play today when he ran his full measure or he thought he was dean capabianco... thought the umpiring was of a very low level today - totally inconsistent!! although no surprise from scmitt!!!
  20. Paul Johnson must be dropped immediately - we lose momentum when he rucks and yesterdaythe simple errors that he made: - 1. kicking the ball so that it floated; 2. mishandling the ball straight to the opposition 3. handballing to the opposition with a no look 4. dropping easy/ regulation marks. I would rest Jetta - he has shown enough to suggest he is a 10 year footballer.. maric should come in for him. newton - i think you persist. keep playing him - he has to do more but by playing him, you will see how genunie he is and how committed he is!!! stef martin contineus to shine for me - he could be anything! meeson - who would have thought but he continues to do the right things - present, spoil, etc for me, we are on the right track!!
  21. Buckley struggled last weekend for any run, so no huge surprise.. whenever groin is mentioned, well you hope for the best!! as for garland, one of the club;s rising stars, this is not needed at this time of the year or this time of his contineud development... but again, it creates opportunity - we have kept the four debutants... we bring in stef martin who is as exciting as anyone... sylvia, well enough has been said about this bloke but i personally am expecting him to step up!!
  22. why would bennel not keep his spot - looked impressive with feet skills and also ability to read the ball. i'd be tinkering with the forward line... a backline of presti, nathan brown, harry o, the worst captain in the comp, goldscrot does not put the wind up many teams at vfl level let alone afl... run the ball hard all day, take chances and do what the crows did... easy!!
  23. that's why he was assigned the number 1 tagger yesterday........ a good post neita... was thinking the same thing yesterday watching him run around with a human glove on him.....
  24. ask shane crawford about this bloke........
  25. played on wells in the last quarter and was torched but it is part of the learning curve...... he is one demon that does have genuine pace... keep persisting and backing him!!
