  1. Saw Blease win back to back best and fairest awards with Eastern Ranges and he also won the TAC coaches award for the current year.
  2. ah yes, mr gillian mclachan - another genius at afl house that finds it hard to respond without vlad being in attendence!!! we were always going to be bent over with this draw but to this extent? we have a good draw? from what perspective?? we need to make money and corporate is a massive revenue stream but again, this will be a bit part!! the rubber glove has been inserted again!!
  3. care factor of these two? seriously, they chose other clubs and let's hope that they regret their decision when we become one of the genuine forces of the afl, through the recruitment of youth, a touch of experience and brand of footy that will win premierships...
  4. corrie is no good and not required by us..... and shaw, well he can butcher the ball better than most, so.....
  5. a magnificent servant of the footy club... when we unveiled him at the G against the kangaroos in round 1 1998, well... will look back on his career with pride and know that he achieved most things - many players do not win a premiership, let alone make a grand final... good luck jeff!!
  6. agree with most and congratulate cameron bruce on his year.... yes he turned the ball over but in general he was leaps and bounds our best player... i was surprised that wheatley was not higher - for mine, it was his best year at the club!!
  7. a three year contract - interesting in the current environment also, has no value to anyone let alone the demons!! see ya later champ!!
  8. give him the arse as soon as possible... negotiate a payout and spend the money on youth!! benny gale will fight this but at the end of the day, what can he do? if what the article says is true, then this is totally unacceptable and for a 'senior' footballer... [censored] off carroll!!
  9. hawthorn also made some hard decisions re veterans - joel smith, john barker, nick holland, ben dixon, rayden tallis, etc.... clarkson often refers to these people when talking about where the club has come from and the substance.... we have now let go of quite afew in the same mould and it will continue in the upcoming weeks - ben holland, david neitz, adem yze, jeff white, simon godfrey, daniel ward, nathan brown, etc... next year we need to win more games but more importantly show genuine signs of improvement. younger players to step up and show leadership, the ability to adapt to a agame plan, etc.. i am excited!!
  10. it was only the second grand final that i have been to! the othr one of course being 2000.... that was one of the longest days in the history of the world.. yesterday though, i wondered how ti would feel if it were the demons.... i hope i get to see a demons premiership one day and will be there to enjoy it like my hawk mates!! i know how much hard work there is to be done but i already have paid my membership, have donated to debt demolition and wait to see our next move.... all for that one day in september!!!
  11. the victory presentation after the sprint was a disgrace!! sick of having to watch quality sport and yet still have mediocre coverage!!
  12. channel 7 needs to review their people - if we have three more years to go!! dale lewis ricky olarenshaw tim watson seriously, the number one question after the grand final, how does it feel??
  13. Brock for captain.... make a statement as a club... a young club that is opnly going one way, with young leaders.... he is our most important player - without doubt!!
  14. having been fortunate to attend the grand final on saturday and been to a few hawthorn sponsors events, it is amazing at how quickly things can change!! as noted, in clarkson's first year they were hopeless, not as bad as ours but still, they were very uncompetitive! he did however train them that year in a style of footy and no matter what the result, the footy was to be played in that style... then in years, he would get quality players to the club.. however, they have also traded well - the picking up of guerra and dew was no fluke. their footskills, hardness were important and both plaed very important roles on the weekend. there is no doubt that the demons have the makings of a good team!! top draft picks this year, another preseason, gradual improvement next year, more draft picks, then who knows.... we need to keep the likes of mcdonald, bruce and green though - they are our eldest players and provide some stability to the club!!
  15. I have already paid for my membership.... so both MCC & MFC were renewed at the same time on the website - much much easier!!
  16. this even made it in to radar's roast this morning on sen!! loves kicking the demons when they are down - i would not p!ss on this bloke if he was on fire... i am not at all disappointed.... it emphasises how far we have got to go - that we do not have a champion and the end of the season could not come quick enough!! glad that skirt harvey did not win it - little pr!ck!!
  17. of course - a terrible backline with no real emerging stars... so no matter how many goals you kick at one end, the other end will always be a problem!! a midfield that relies on judd to win the hardball and the likes of murphy and stevens to paint the fences.... also, they like to run the one way!! for a team that has had so many top picks, it is amazing that a player like carazzo that absolutely murders the ball can finish in your top 5 best and fairest!! now we play the waiting game - Sticks FC will have to do better than pick 24!!
  18. ruckmen take a longer time to develop - due to their body shape, etc. has shown some signs of promise - he can hit a target by boot, he can take a grab and he actually covers the ground quite well... as a club, i think this is a very important step going forward... we all give collingwood shyte for their inability to catch a big one, well here is our chance to change the recent history.... we have a lot to offer and yes the financial side of things is still a little fuzzy but the other areas are beginning to take shape: - 1. the casey venture 2. the rectangle arena and gosch's paddock 3. a new board 4. a new coach 5. a super young playing list that has talent it is time for the demons to make a stand - be realistic and not hamstring ourselves in the process......
  19. would expect prismall to stay at geelong. i do not think we can underestimate the work that neil balme has done for their football club... warnock - will always be backup to sandilands. at the demons, he has the opportunity to be the number one ruckmen, increased ground time, increased responsibility and the opportunity to return home!!
  20. how can taylor and stokes play reserves?? taylor has played how many senior agmes? just because their seniors are out, surely similar rules apply to senior agmes...
  21. a bad seed that is not needed amongst our group of younsters!! he is a cat, that is more interested in how bad his hair can look than being a member of the melbourne footy club and showing leadership!! gawn!!
  22. could be interesting, although both melbourne and sandringham totally separate..... and of course greg hutchison coaching casey scorpions, so what will he do?
  23. I am m mcc/mfc member paying the 150 a year and have not received one email from the footy club for the tire year- whether it be the coach's report, the weekly email, etc.. i have rung the club and they have changed it, i have email the club with the new address.... do you think i have received areturn email or in fact anything from the footy club? nothing!! and yet, asking me to put my hand in my pocket?? seriously, a little thing as simple as thisa nd they cant get that right!! i cannot wait for change to occur!!
  24. why would you want to finish ninth?? momentum for next year? sell more memberships? keep up tradition? tease your supporters? nope, finishing last we get draft picks, along with those of last eyar that should see our club be in the premiership window immediately after the cats and hawks....
  25. i just sat there at times today with my head down and if it was not down, it was shaking!! the number of times that we murder the football is frightening!! we had no lead up target today, with bate playing two's for the retirees!! was a very, very disappointing performance against a team that is known for their lack of courage!!
