He was indeed recruited as a mid but has probably played his best footy in or around both the HF and HB flanks. ( yes I know...mids can play there too ) but he hasnt set world on fire with us as a mid. He was tearing it up in the SANFL as one. Unfortunately if you take the rosey glasses off he has been somewhat underwhelming. Must be terribly frustrating for him and he mentioned that in a conversation. He has high standards and really has his heart in the right place. he tries 100% within his ability to do so and its that thresh-hold thats the problem . Hes unable to play to his utmost and he knows it. We know it too. its like he's playing with lead boots on. You wouldnt want to be doing that for too long at this level

So he was spotted on a perth bound flight !!! the irony

Paint it anyway you like to go top 8 means an 11 game improvement in 14. Im hopeful but a born again pragmatist. We aint going to WIN 13 in 14

Theyll be looking to a few more names but that will depend on drafting and trading. Not finished yet.

Whilst some think I have it in for Toumpas, nothing could be further from the reality. I wish him well at Melbourne and thoroughly hope he does evolve into the player some will have us believe. I indeed think he will be a better than average player. I simply dont think he was THE choice at THAT moment in time given what our REAL requirements were/are. Selecting Wines would have already vindicated that selection whilst the jury is still out on Jimmy. This to me such an obvious distinction. The only way we will get Wines is if he TELLS port he wished a trade to us. Whilst hes enjoying good footy in a finals playing team i wont hold my breath. Bugger
