Ive been more than critical of Petty of late....quite deservedly imho... But i thought he fought admirably last night. I find the many stats thrown around erroneous and bizarre tbh. Esp rucking. Quite often 'wins' attributed where to my eye none such occurred. Aa such in my opinion Petty did well in the rucking duels. To suggest Draper towelled him would be to be watching another game entirely. How MUCH better are we with Milkshake.... a Maestro of the leather !!! please leave Roo in front arc ...please

Gee that place brings back memories.. used to live on Wills St as a kid... that park was like my backyard ( in a fashion ) ,long before the freeway went through and re-jigged that pocket ;). Spent hours....hours..... HOURS with my Lyre-bird and a few mates.....practising goal kicking and marking. Fond memories ;) Anyway...back to the game... still at 6's and 7's as to what 's really going on. Quite intrigued really. Am truly hoping for a masterstroke of selection and intent. Imho.... thats exactly what's called for.... a handy follower around the ground. Not winning the centre bounce isn't EOW stuff... currently we still don't win a lot of centre clearances ( demonstrably ).... Playing a more dedicated role player ( aka a ruck ) would then not necisitate other players removing themselves from roles they are better at. Still find the whole thing odd.

It's a curiosity. We're down a ruck but we don't pick one. Some suggest too important a game to risk. I don't concur. It's a game.. they're all important. Some suggest he's underwhelmed and so not picked.... yet he's named as an emergency, and not the first time ; so he's good enough if you 'need to break glass' but not if his exact position is vacant ??? Not picking Fullarton is either,as suggested above...a ruse or it's illogical. He's not picked because he may not win the contests ( neither does Max and often sharked ) but we'll have possibly 3 non-rucks competing and probably losing. Yep, makes zero sense there. Max's value around the ground i think is actually irreplaceable but we'll try with Petty ?? I truly find all of this fascinating. We'll know Sat night. Hope it works.
