I think we've seen the experiment's results...jmo. He has excellent craft down back....and just the other side of sfa up the forward arc. Just seems terribly list most times. It's quite odd really. Fine reader of the ball but doesn't seem to translate from one end to the other.. I stand to be corrected but Neeta was a swing player capable of both ends but played most earlier games as a fwd.. .. at Melb he went back as a CHB but returned to his natural forward slot. Harry is no Neeta.... very few are ;)

Yep....horses and courses. He might well make for a left field shuffle of the magnets in a game whereby all the widgets and stars align to make it a workable ploy.. Other than that he is a key link in the fabric of our defence. Experiments..... we can meddle elsewhere As they say.... Harry in defence aint broke...let's not 'fix' it .

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
Well.. A few ducks and drakes to be had here. Lets start with what might seem the glaringly obvious issues. Who stole May's favourite toy ?.. Give it back ....he's worrying about something. We've seen in the past the club will play him half-dead ...but he's a few years older... he needs a freshen up..( badly ) Come on down.. Disco .... Here's an opportunity to dance your dance. Harry Harry Harry... sometimes we need to just play to our strengths and not reinvent wheels. Harry ...youre a very VERY good backman...and fits well into the "backline up " That's where you belong. Roo boy is fab... it's far too early in his career to have him carry the can. He needs experienced help. The first choice would, in the not so distant past, be Brown. He's sore, out of form...( a consideration maybe ) .. Tmac... his function is often misunderstood. He's quite a pivotal forward link not just a kpf... but...but... he's way off ideal currently... still looking for experienced players who CAN impact. We're running thin now. Josh me lad... grab this game...shake the tree... take the heat off Roo... bring your A game. Kozzi Kozzi, maaaaate.... need to bring your game back to earth... the wax is melting. This IS a game to do two essential things.... play OUR footy...but with a bit more verve and intensity.. and go back to mixing it up especially on kicking out. We started the year ( preseason and such ) confusing and stretching oppositions by NOT setting up with the LEFT hand kick alone...we're falling back into many bad habits. Im happy to swap out Bowey ..especially this game. Laurie perhaps .... An advantage of playing Tmac was/is he can pinch hit in the Ruck. In playing the Shack he can do similar... easing up the load on both Max and Grundy . That's not Roo boy's role. This wont be a shoo in . We need to respect all teams, and especially wiley coaches. But this isnt playing the Pies. We can take a half step back , reload . Goodwin has already admitted we're still experimenting in a fashion. This is a good game to revisit ideas and players.

Alice Springs Match
Maybe the problem is Alice... Alice.. Seriously though, all guff aside it's always been my view that the cental totem to many a country/ regional locale is their sport. It's often interwoven into the fabric of the towns. What little i know of Alice's problems they seem greatly whitewashed ( hmm ...leave it at that ) by the towns governors. Many locals ( business, support etc etc ) all seem at loggerheads with the Mayor and Co. We as a club don't need to solve the problem The AFL doesn't need to solve the problem. Its our game...bring it to the G

Not sure about the voracity of need. Currently it might be nice to have a walk up starter....and maybe we do. Ostensibly Tmac was o.k. ( granted and possibly like yourself he's a risk in this regard ) The plan had been Grundy and Gawn to rest fwd.. Hasn't gone to plan . Brown... meh... The Roo.... definitely a positive Point is we have quite some depth. Schache has his abities and in a fashion is the very filip you address. He doesn't seem to excite too many here....but he has played finals and equitted himself more than fairly. These players are either good to go when required...or they wouldn't be there surely. We've had a cup and a half of bad luck/bad timing. It's testing us. Personally i think the cattle IS there.....it's whether there's good enough selection to back them. P.s....there's Petty... but cant rob the backs when they're light on

What they area saying at Punt Road
Back in the day...... when dogs would target your team mate you simply waited for the next opportunity to run through the maggot ( oppo player and not the white varietal lol ). As you lent down to offer him assistance up... you'd whisper sweetly for his edification ;) .. " next time you're not getting up " Sort of miss those days... Umpiring is useless. They must see it...do nothing. And then wonder about the lack of respect given. I don't. 2 way street... Earn the respect of the players... not demand it... that's the weak way. This day and age.. it does need to be brought to the attention of those that oversee. The Club has a duty of care... Also...just needs to get angrier towards the inept custodianship of the game. Time to remind the league ....it's OUR game you're messing with. Don't trash it.

Fair to say coming into this season it was expected the Taps Bros to share the load... Grundy resting fwd... Max...well.. Max just cruising everywhere picking off grabs when not rucking. It wasn't expected for Grundy to carry the load nor that extra sweeper in defence to not be there. And thats where we are . Our PLAN B got dusted off far earlier than ever possibly anticipated. Remove Lever and thats a serious hole in the wall. May's not superhuman. He can get flustered on days he has to try reinventing his back half forces only to realise its really just him ( if support staff are underachieving or similarly overwhelmed) I really liked Tomlinson before his injury. Never quite seemed as good since. Needs to back himself more....in same way Lever does. Hes playing a more reactionary game atm.... no flair...little anticipation....to me. We quite a clever outfit when humming... but if a few threads come unstuck.....so do we....majorly.

Thanks Old... Wouldn't have wanted to have made an extra special effort....to get to an "announcement" just to served up stale waffles. Not overly clever by the club imo.
