I've been surprised they've never rotated him through the forward line. Instead of pulling players off all the time , I'd prefer to see some just change role for periods. Imho not only can they bring other sides of their respective games to bear but also challenges the opposition in match ups etc.

Interesting conundrum

Something along these lines. There's a a trap we can all fall in of leaning towards picking a list of 24 odd players .... as opposed..... picking the better TEAM . The team yesterday worked. You probably don't want to change it wholesale so asking myself what might tweak it, just improve a few things ? Something along SONS line up. Viney about the only 100% obvious. Lever , super handy if fully fit. A smallish ? hangs over him. Sharp or Spargo comes out. I feel many are too quick to caste the scythe towards AJ. He actually provides something. It doesn't sparkle or shine that something, it's quite rustic but very affective. I'd hesitate dropping him. Fritta seemed quite keen and alive when he came on. I'd do this maybe once more. It worked. I quite like things that work. Prefer them to things that ought to... but don't. Goodwin is a fella that prefers not to change much. Here's a week to do just that imho.

You know what.... possibly some learnings were implemented. Still some way to go but we saw a far better side , saw something more of what some can do. Great game....let it not be unique.

Well we haven't managed it this season but let's come at them big time in the last. There's a lot riding on this.... some just don't realise it ( sadly )

About where I peg it too. Don't want it, just what is.

I'm actually starting to think Goodwin is simply in the wrong role. He obviously has a good connection with the players but as a coach, I.e the bloke who's supposed to coordinate the play etc I don't rate him. I've fully believed for some time it was Ooze who was the real catalyst for our winning. He's gone, we're floundering. But the connection of players and Goody remains. I think he might simply be doing the wrong job. Mentoring might be more his fit.

The problem Dr ... is I think a lot of people have been burnt over the years and unrelenting trust is not embedded. I love the club, the jumper but we can be as wonky as all get go in terms of management. Look at us now.

You grant far too much kudos to our coaching. Our forward craft is in a word, pathetic . In so far as being useful at AFL level our forward structure and training ( might as well throw in selection ) is immature. There's NO ONE there capable of instructing JVR or any really in anything useful. He's getting "Melbourned" .... royally

Never played at that level. Just a "suburban" boy ;)
