  1. Geez... the gurgler awaits. A very over-rated competition.
  2. It certainly enters the realm of possibility. If we don't... hmm.. yeah.. nahh 😞
  3. I can applaud and agree with a lot of your thinking of late sans JVR. You even explain elsewhere why he isn't an automatic replacement/inclusion. His early games/seasons were of one style of game. We've moved on... tgft ... He has yet to adjust . He currently dies not imo constitute the player we need up there. As I also suggested elsewhere he needs to work on his game. Needs to expand it. He also needs more gym if he's to outmuscle/outplay his keepers. If we keep winning and/or keep competing hard ( even if a loss ) then there would have to be an irrefutable argument made to bring in JVR.. He has to show why. He needs to be banging down the doors with b.o.g. type games in the magoos. Not one, a string of them. Let him be the better choice because atm he isn't.
  4. It is indeed a funny old world where you stop and prop when considering Viney returning. As you propose I would only really consider him for that Spargo position. He would play a very different game to Spargy but could certainly apply some demoralising defensive work in the forward arc. I reckon Tommy must be the unluckiest bloke currently. Perhaps should May be given a spell Tmac can return to the backline. I'm reminded of the classic idiom "If it ain't broke don't fix it" That would be the forward setup. Should only look to tweak... not change atm.
  5. Must be for the Victory folk ? lol Stoic work. Get out of the rain and get that coffee...
  6. Some very odd ( poor ) choices of kicking. Now that's not at all on Simon.... but it might prove prudent should he get in the ear of some 😉
  7. Absolutely hilarious ( and true ) There were some grounds where empty beer cans got repurposed.... as mini-stilts. iykyk 😉
  8. Good point . Had forgotten about Andy. Agree he seems the more likely successor atm ( when able ).
  9. Mr Smith... Could you , or some other kind tragic please explain how all this works ( or rather doesn’t ) I'm not at all au fait with the particular machinations . Cheers
  10. Not known as the Filth without reason
  11. @Sue "Sorry to seem sexist, but if they are giving cars to female players, the male players are probably getting jumbo jets." Given their brand... perhaps Falcons ! 🙄
  12. Concur. He is, imho, still adjusting to the faster tempo of AFL.... and then the Swans game which was especially frenetic. Hopefully if retained his development will be or the more quickened for outings such as Sunday's. The VDB analogy ..quite good 👍
  13. Me thinks unlikely to occur save for two possiilities; neither of which I'd like. 1) Dees form goes to mud and we lanquish whereupon season stuffed.... time to roll out the kids... 2) injury to current 1st list player I think it'll be next year after another "building" preseason. But it's been known that I can be wrong 🤔🤣
  14. Ahh .. someone else paying attention. Exactly .. the pack expected the ball to travel further... then didn't. A tad clumsy I'd concede but... hardly a "sitter" as some purport. Certainly a lot less "hangable offence" than using wrong kick 30/40 m out from goal..... just sayin'
  15. What does .... cut it ??
  16. Tis called blue and white washing
  17. He did grimace a little whiles before his whack by Mills. That HIT wouldn't have helped at all. Get well Spargypants 👍
  18. Given his journey I would be very surprised if he still doesn't pinch himself to reassure himself he is actually out there in a Dees jumper playing the big game. So I very much doubt he's truly settled in. I'd never want any player to take for granted any game but I think we'll see him mature quite a bit with more games. The supposed 'sitter' could have been fumbled by anyone as the ball dropped a bit shorter than the pack expected... you only need watch it a few times to see that. Not excusing him..just explaining. AJ thinking led to that intercept which led to a goal. That shows a much greater awareness and ability than pining for some bloke whose 'trick' is pack marking... ( when he does ) For mine JVR needs to thoroughly improve and expand his work craft if looking to displace Johnson. Let's see him do that at Casey, with consistency, and against better opponents ( as opposed tge Ants ) AJ is no refined dining....he's meat and 3 veg. Nothing wrong with a Sunday Roast eh 😋 😉
  19. Unlikely Spargo as that's the premise of the question. If neither Spargs or Viney ... then I would think Harry comes in .. with Laurie as sub . Just my thoughts.
  20. Am expecting A very hard and even slog.
  21. Watch the highlights again.. he actually does a few clever things. Skill wise...maybe not A grade... but a player with footy nouse... I'm calling it... he's OK. Remember the club has had tabs on him for years. Not without reason imho
  22. AFL at its finest.. B.S. meter about to explode
  23. That was utter rubbish...
  24. Again... they are big buggers. Not talking you're everyday annoying sulphur crested fella. These would have headlined for 'Hitchcock' had he known. They sit in the trees down here ( Bass Coast ) and mock you. Kinda like the Grim Reapers of the feathered world. Harbingers of doom.... they caused Sydney's demise ... then came to gloat !! Go Dees ( we need to make friends with these things...lol )
