  1. Youve added " no circumstance. " Strawman stuff... I'd thought you better than that. Read my words.. simply put... no one on today's efforts knocked down any doors
  2. Mate... he was bog average really. Look what he was playing against. Ants have no defence... they're bottom of the ladder. Should have been a turkey shoot and we still made it look like hard work. He had maybe half a dozen decent efforts. Should have had a couple of dozen. So... you reckon he's AFL ready ?? I call b.s.
  3. Based on today... that's laughable. They were flower fertiliser until they decided to have a go. Jeffo isn't AFL material. He's a very good vfl player. VFL is very mediocre stuff.
  4. Twas a regular day at the G , very early 80s. Melb v Collingwood. I attended with.2 mates ( both similarly tragically D ) and one's younger brother...who for some God forsaken reason was a Geelong barracker. As game progressed... some verbalised enhancements from all sectors were heard. Younger Cats supporter had trannie plastered to ear ( meant something very different then ) ...until Cats kicked well clear ..and young lad joined the Melbourne chorus. Quite bizarrely some old hag ...and I kid you not...frontal-toothless.... took great offence that this inoffensive young lad wearing a Navy and white scarf should suddenly find voice in the benefit of the Dees. She literally started belting him with her bag. I must confess the Senior lads were utterly ill composed and fell about laughing before we assumed the righteousness of life and confronted the black and white devil. We won... a very strange day
  5. Am especially impressed your context of locomotive and types... I read your post with interest; for two reasons. 1) I enjoy and rate your observations and 2) I actually watched the game ( rare but able today ...albeit on phone ) It was an odd game in a fashion. The Ants were atrocious for the most part but came out invigorated in the last. The vexed juxtaposition of only being able to play the opposition that presents was ever in vogue. Am I the only person not particularly impressed by Casey today ? I know that seems incredulous but there was no particular composure with Casey. All well and good snatching ball out of ruck...but I'd suggest it helps if you have the slightest idea as to what to do with it after. Seemed confronted. The fluffing around at back with dicky kicks that missed 90% of times was borderline comical. When Bullants woke up they had a meal. We should have won that by a country mile..... the scoreboard quite flattering in the end in my book. Tbh.... the efforts raised more questions than it answered and there was NO one knocking down the door for senior selection. No one
  6. May is looking a bit tired. That's all. When he does...his game can drop at a great rate of knots. All... I... am suggesting is he more than Tmac needs managing. I want him there in Big games. He won't shine in all games. Oh that he could
  7. You set the bar low... just sayin '
  8. Worries for sure
  9. Tend to agree.. The scoreline looked/was impressive... the opposition was tres ordinaire. That said they rallied in the last and Casey wasn't caught napping...was caught sound asleep. I'm truly curious as to what games some watch as all I can say is some of our illustrious AFL players looked bog ordinary against a very dishevelled opposition. Our list needs a major overhaul.
  10. Did you catch the Casey game ?? Let's say I would be careful on your next bet.
  11. That's good news. Acknowledging my wife's battle as well as her sister's a lot seems to this observer to be battles within battles. That's some good news for you.
  12. Some slack arses playing for Casey eh...
  13. That fella Baldi should garner interest at mid season draft
  14. Without a doubt the Bullants coach has told them at 3/4 time... forget the scoreboard... go back.to basics ... win the quarter. Casey ...bit rocky have gone to sleep Despite scoreboard, some very average efforts by AFL players out there . Just my obs... Carry on
  15. Have Casey forgotten about defence ? Some pretty slacks efforts in last 5 mins
  16. Close game .... Mercy rule ???
  17. You're pretty close I'd say. By my figuring there's approx a 70% chance a team needs 13 wins this year to secure themselves into the 8. Possible with 12 but a lot of cards need to fall that team's way. From current that's 9 out of the remaining games. Not impossible, just rather implausible for mine. Tomorrow might tell us a lot. Go Dees
  18. Swinging Tommy fwd these days I think would be reserved for an 'in case of fire break glass' type scenario and by that I mean he seems rather settled in defence ( and effectively so ) but if a game teetered and options were few, and there was no tomorrow as such I wouldn't hesitate sending him forward with one very simple instruction .. " all or nothing, take'm apart ". And I reckon he would. I do recall a game a few years back ( ironically against Syd at G ) he all but single handedly took the game by the scruff of its neck and willed himself to score. Don't underestimate the Mac , but I think generally I'd have him maraud the back 50.
  19. George is in a class of his own 😉 👍
  20. This ^^^^^ Afaiaa.. he's played very limited and managed minutes. No one is doubting his ability or effectiveness, certainly not I. I just wonder if this is the cleverest thing to do. Both Ricky L and May have some history and issues ( recent times ) with injury whilst erstwhile soldier Mac seems to be going along quite strongly. We'll see tomorrow I s'pose. Hope this doesn't blow up as an uh-oh!!! I'd still have managed-rested May. I think this of all games suits that. 🤔🤷‍♂️
  21. It's more to me about fitness and form . And I still don't see how currently Tmac is the one out of Lever, May and himself to be dropped... managed...whatever. Still.... it's a very Melbourne thing to do.
  22. Said similar somewhere... I.e May looking the most in need of a 'managed' rest. An odd decision for mine . Totally agree about not wanting to see him suiting up for Casey.
  23. What the ... Beyond daft.....
  24. I agree.. looks to me a very even matchup. Odds ought to be 1.90 each imo
  25. I actually don't like the way the extended benches are announced... smacks of tokenism and teasing. Probably just me.. seems so trite. Just name the team.
