  1. There is for mine one single element of the Bulldog game that you copy. It's the idea , as expressed by Bevo , that you create your OWN game and make it work. Melbourne need to create the Melbourne game, and perfect it. You also need plan B and C but you needs skills, skills and skills. People who can actually KICK a ball properly and efficiently help no end No need to rebuild, we ARE building
  2. Im sure he's not the only one using DL for reference. Again...Escher stars.... ( aka as going in circles )
  3. it stands to reason, irrespective of whatever occurs that there will be an announcement come ( or before ) Friday.. Its the content thats the query
  4. watch this space.,...everything, or nothing
  5. 2016 was a real step up ...and into real footy. He has arrived; now it's up to him what he can BE !! Looking forward to his 2017 and beyond. Well done Jack
  6. what the AFL grants....we will swipe away.. Lets get positive FD !! them Negative Waves again
  7. too hard to tell Red....so much energy, so much enthusiasm. Every heart beats true for theh Red and the Blue. It's the contract for noobies and....you ( wonder where that finger's pointing !! )
  8. We argue, we bicker, we nuance. At the heart of all things we follow and love our Demons. What a shrink would make of that god only knows !! Ive had the good fortune to make some acquaintances and indeed some friends. Thankyou There are those here who knock heads, and Im among those but would gladly share a beer or wine with as we are all MELBOURNE GoDees and more power to you , go you good Demonland oh and btw this is by FAR the very best AFL fan site....kudos.. take a worthy and well earned bow
  9. it's we who should be thanking you . and I do . Thanks
  10. Im not rewriting history. That's laughable. So is introducing strawman arguments. No bigger stage than a GF. Be interesting to compare , should Hogan get to play finals, irrespective for whom. A different tempo and pressure than h & a
  11. You were directly comparing the two. What you suppose is purely speculative. Boyd HAS delivered. Hogan is all about 'might' Try as you may your argument is flowery at best and totally illogical more likely.
  12. Cheers, my bad Announcemen; may or may not be what folk expect. Such a wonderful time of year for cryptics .
  13. Actually...I think where your mind is is everything adc. Convinced ? Maybe just presumptive
  14. when Jesse stands up in a GF and plays out of his skin. You may well have some currency with that ideal...til then
  15. are you suggesting an announcement. or thats the deadline for any decision ?
  16. Saty...my stance has always been I havent been convinced he has ever committed to the Demons in the manner we might expect a player to. Its nothing more than observations I concede but the body language and demeanor dont sell me. He'll be 22 soon enough. Hes been in the system for near on 4 years. He's not a noobie really . Yes he's entitled to consider his career.. We have seen this past weekend that football can be so much more than about the money, or a contract. Football is about passion. I dont see any from him. Again , just my view. Some seem to think ( not saying you ) that to have a discussion , indeed to be suspicious , to be questioning is tantamount to being 'angry' at the lad. I really couldnt care less what he does. He's just one of a number that make up a list. Yes, he has talent, but so do others. If anything does matter , it is that I want a cohesive , competitive team. Who make it up is really to me irrelevant. tbh, i think the modern day manager is all about the modern day manager !! If Jesse decides his future IS at Melbourne , for mine that will be the first indication he has actually bought into the club and that would be good for the MFC. If he decides it's elsewhere, good luck to him , and we'll get some value in return and good for us. Again, I'm more about US . Now I can fully understand views that are different but mine is that a person who really wanted to be at Melbounre would have one, displayed more passion by now, and secondly found a way to sign on to mutual benefit much sooner. He's a WA boy with real family ties and love for his home. Who decries that.I dont. Happy for him to go home. If his old man is the crux ( and thats no disrespect to his condition , just positioning the discussion ) then again tbh Id have thought we wouldnt even be having any more talk about it. Probably the most poignant post, though suspect it had other motives, was to suggest we'll know by Friday. I think we will too. Go Dees
  17. I hardly took offence. You did say, he wont be going anywhere this year. You cant know that. Just because theres a contract through end of next season in the context of what happens now a days it really is worthless. I can say I know absolutely nothing about what he will do next year. Its been suggested that neither does he ( JH ) I personally would call bullshlt on that other than he may be dithering between options. A family health dilemma may well weigh on him, but to be frank this ridiculous standoff has been of his ( and managers ) making from some time ago. This modus never smells fragrant .
  18. Friday...before trade begins on Monday Hardly psychic !!
  19. Why. If he signs he signs. If he doesn't he doesn't. Red. Hes not the bloody mesiah ffs.
  20. Prodee You have no real idea what Hogan will ACTUALLY do. Why suggest otherwise.
  21. Also has a Premiership Medallion. Im not fussed what Hogan may or may not be. It's actually inconsequential ( despite many's a concern ) to our real progress. That progress will be directed by the FD and Coaching. Hogan is just one player of inconsistent effect. He's young and might be anything. He also might plateau , he might bounce on, he migh sook til midnight Hogan is the epitome of seeking the silver lining when Storm clouds encircled our club. He is also one of the last picks of our old regime. He was picked as a white knight , champion of the scarf in waiting. Fact is he's just human, a very good player on his day,( or part thereof ) but has human foibles none the less. He strikes me as mercenary, odd for his youth but that's my impression. It may not be that of many. Boyd today exhibited the style of someone having bought in 100℅ . Hogan hasn't given me that to date. Again, my impression.. I may be alone. I really don't care whether he stays or goes for again his value will be returned whether he stays or goes. It doesn't matter who plays for us. It doesn't matter who kicks the goals. It ONLY Matters whether a team of 22 perform each week. Happy if he's part of it, non-plussed if he isn't.
  22. Not sad. If they can , we can Get a grip
