PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Nope Fair assessment... ought to come into about 3.50 by the game. But that's an on-paper thinking , by the numbers as it were. More holistically.... unless we lock down our defence better and sew up the holes and if we are incapable of taking full benefit of our opportunities ( i know who am I kidding ) then in truth this is a very 50-50 game. We can both be as useless as each other. A difference... Clarko is a much better day/game coach and they might smell blood.

Who then ??? Take as long as you like .. Just whose [censored] job is it to have the team ready, focused and primed for a game ?? Take as long as you like...really. Put that thinking cap on. Not too tight. Tic toc... tic tic..

Time to go Goody?
A very accurate precis imo. How sad and frustrating that the powers that be would rather do nothing in case they did 'something' !!! A moribund paralysis. The petrification of gentrification . Aka. Gutless wusses

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
I'm genuinely intrigued that the conversation , as such , is deemed by many to be about Goody's new plan and the difficulties ( supposedly) of the team to adjust and perfect. Today , an interesting effort ( at times ) displayed much more than just an inability to finish off not just the 'gamestyle' but the game itself. There are to some observers the poor locating of magnets as well as the inclusion of magnets with weak or mixed polarities. There are other options but the powers that be are loathe to implement. Odd really as they might actually benefit the somewhat flawed 'plan'. The problems we have are far greater than the gameplan. Selection, Placement...and Preparation. The trifecta I wonder how many other teams would stuff up with our entries.

We're Not Dead Yet - The 2025 Season
Why ? Short answer, because there's no one to sack him. What should happen and what will likely happen.... 2 different things unfortunately. We desperately need a circuit breaker as currently its like a b grade Halloween movie on repeat.

Time to go Goody?
Yes indeed. It goes to mood, individual and group. Goes to satisfaction or frustration/ disappointment/ grievance. Can unsettle player(s) effectiveness which goes to results. Poor results can give birth to buy-in or opt-out. We're dealing with egos. Just about every AFL player wants to play well and be allowed to do so. Effort and lack of reward especially if sensing bias is not a recipe for happiness.

NON-MFC: Round 17
And a bit of devil may care , bloody hell we're not losing this attitude , initially from 3 or 4 in the 3rd which became infectious. We won it...and won it well in the end which happens often ( but not always ) at the big dance..... but it very nearly didn't. We've never replicated that level since.

Time to go Goody?
It's a very good question. It might be seen as two and possibly that was your inference. Is there someone better suited to our requirements going forward ( than SG) ? I fervently hope so or we're locked in a nightmarish loop. Wiil/can the club determine how to do that and if so act upon that. Actually a very good and vexing conundrum. It would have to be taken as a given the club in current mode/guise has no appetite nor compulsion to do so. Probably wouldn't fart or sneeze lest it be seen to have done something. It will fall to the incoming CEO & Pres to pull on the big boy pants. I have no other option really but to trust them to do this. Time will tell no doubt. Good question 🤔 👏 😉

I'm an old supporter. 66.. 61 years a Dee. You can mitigate all you want. Your prerogative. I know a lame duck when I see one. The only wringing I'd entertain is the necks of our Club's leaders as they sit on their collective arzes fiddling as Rome burns. Smiles and handshakes all round for the happy clappers. I don't blame Goodwin, though I see him as complicit and accountable. I blame the club, for doing nothing. That would take fortitude. Not something we're known for.

Training Ground?
Yippee kayay... Those machines still exist. Let's stop selling alcohol too... Those pies and other junk foods... no no no.. Will no one think of the children.... ban soft drinks!! Mfc accomplished effectively nothing , nothing more than throwing money away. Ideology is one thing. Reality another. Happy for the State to ban them.... oh wait. We're a sports club, not guardians of the human condition.

Time to go Goody?
Yes Yes/tempered with other factors but he'd ba at centre of most by default. Yes..... and why's that ? Buy in failing, complacency, frustration, mirroring their treatment?? But ultimately simply competitiveness and success. No one respects failure. No one wants to be part of it... on or off the field.

That's a fallacy. It presupposes everything works to effect. It hardly ever does. Bit like an egg and spoon race... you can be fast... and lose

Time to go Goody?
With respect , you speak of causality. Asking my mate AI.. Came up with. Strangely refers to many aspects i mentioned. I think we can just agree we see things very differently. A football club , especially at the top level is a dance of egos. It's a world of Jocks. Football clubs therefore are unlike your general business world as in the normal world most will get on with things but an AFL club ...well... lot of "precious" .. lots of figjam. Some see them as lovely families. .. all kum ba yah stuff. I should say though that imho there is also a distinction between A club and a team ; subtle but specific. Anyhow:

Well these issues may foster resentment, may create rise to counter-productive tendencies. Where as teams thrive on sycronicity having some splinter off with festering dissatisfactions doesn't promote across the board comradeship. It creates factions. If I recall correctly this very idea broached surface some whiles back. The culture of a club is everything, the philosophy through to how standards are followed as well as edicts. Unhappy campers are not good for team spirit. Footy is more often than not a game of very small percentages ( we got that bit nailed eh... ) but by that I mean the difference between 97% effort and 100% is where the mind is at and if there's the slightest of niggle because someone feels ever so slightly peeved then your making it easier for your opponents. Culture isn't the pretty words spoken at dinners... culture is your mates having your back. All marching to a single beat.
