I say that as we've dealt with our lack of resources for a long long while. We get it. It's far from desirable. Will it stop us fielding a team ? What matters to me more is who is coaching ( and that goes to all of the coaches )and what it is they are wanting the team to play. A [censored] polished is still a [censored], conversely an unpolished diamond is still a diamond. Do we want a better home ? Of course. Will that happen tomorrow ? No. So we get on with things. A bit of an enigma is ol Spargypants. A very hard player to pigeon hole and therefore evaluate. For mine he's quite a clever footballer but probably hasn't quite the attributes to be devastating to opponents. He's actually quite skilful and his disposals are generally very well considered. If he had another 10-15 m off the boot he'd be even more unique than he currently is. I think with a change of guard he might find it more of a battle to garner games at the Dees and if another were to throw a lifeline and wish him well. Not everyone plays in a Premiership 👍

Now for someone who tries to base my thoughts on something... I have really nothing to back this hunch other than it's a hunch. End of 25 ...a bit of turmoil and grief counselling after the status quo ..goes down down , deeper and down... A new dawn.. New ppl...some new faces come on board. Some old faces go. Some surprises. Trade/Draft..... gung ho preseason.. 26... bit of an up and down year... lots of new stuff to get jiggy with. Eos 26 ... faces out, faces in.. bigger preseason gets under way. 27... those extra couple of preseasons and gametime paying off for some kids.. Melbourne re-emerges as a serious and capable team. Finals. For no other reason than it's entirely possible because it could be ..entirely possible. That is to say... you flip a tail.... the next toss is still fifty fifty. Get a few things right, and then do it again. Right atm.... I'm optimistic

Whilst possibly unpleasant to process what we are seeing today is the result of of much deliberation and consideration. Another part and somewhat prerequisite would be .... well if not Simon, who ? I can only imagine some calls were made sounding out these options. It would be a little naive i think to think no one has been giving this any thought at all. Despite the utterance , " we're now looking for a coach " .. they've a number ( specifically) in mind. I bet you there's a list and obviously there'll be someone on top..... even now. Simon caught the bus.... it comes for all eventually. Safe travels Goody Can agree with much but Bucks, not so much. Hopefully the club casts the net a little wider. Any which way one era, granted successful ( but petered to little), has ended and another soon dawns. Just hoping for success. Tomorrow awaits....

From my perspective we have a head start on rejuvenating the coaching/fd . We hopefully have something in place before trade/draft. To do that means moving now. So be it.

This might not be the case. But something was/is causing him to baulk. It had crossed my mind is he waiting to seasons end, or thereabouts, to see the lay of the land. Could be more than just the coaching. 🤷‍♂️ might be nothing to do with coaching 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Intriguing though for sure.
