ffs...lol.. now dont confuse me by seeing the argument.. Again.. I have no real problem with the man. The process does leave it open to fait accomplit..would not people agree?? Maybe in teh big picture that is not the problem..or for me the poi nt of contention.essentially someon can be all but in the seat.. without displaying his/her wares.. before an opportunity to put it to the membership, all the whiles no one is wise to what the intentions are. Does this not strike as screwy to anyone ?

possibly not enough coffee is the problem.. I'll try to ammend !! lol

I would have thought in todays era of computer controlled machinery that they could do this overnight if the will was there. Ever seen how clothes are made these days.. bit different from Granny and Mum sewing a dress etc..hehe Al layout etc ( talking teh bih guns here now ) is laid out controlled by CNC ..then assogned vatious buckets.. fa;;sto teh assemblers.. and presto..a jumper. Machines dont care what colour or shape..they just do !!
-
Couldnt car if its smooth or not..just preferable. It also seems inevitable as ther sems no contest. None of this deals with the lack of openness re anything going forward. We are FORCED to accept whatever. That usurps the teh procvess of election and transparancy wouldnt you agree ?
-
mate..I dont disagree with you..and its the lsson of Green etc that calls into question how we go about managing the value of Rivers. We may only be able to get mimimum value for some..and that may well cause their stay at Demonland to further..but to what real end ? Id like to muster in some manner 5 picks in teh first 80 if possible..Who gets sacrficed for that..well..time will tell. What annoys me is that some players will remain, not on merit but due to lack of currency in a tight market.

There isnt really a lot to gewt excited abou t this year, other than watching a few of teh kids come on but I do look forward to teh end of season circus with great interest ( more than usual ) this year. Dont be fooled folks, this is a very much a make or break scenario. Be brutal and get it right ( or near to ) and we go forward.. Muck it up of let opportunites slip..and its murky water for a long long while.
-
wouldnt mind that.. be nice with teh MFC logo in blue on front also.

And all the while we are kept in the dark.. very Medievil !! I disagree completely. Gardner knows his time is nigh. He's even suggested it himslef. its not like he's trying to cling on for life. You have an aspirant. Seemingly only one. wheres the barney going to be ?? You talk of a scuffel that apparently doesnt exist. What also doesnt exist is any knowlwedge of what the aspirant intends. What is stopping Stynes and Co from talking of their ideals. Again..wheres the talked of squabble ? You cant allude to a bun fight igf there isnt one. That may blind some to the root of this matter but it doesnt sway me. Again I have no problems per se with Stynes.. ..and its rather hard to disagree with sopmething we know nothin gof..and thats just my very point..WE KKNOW NOTHING. is that just a bit hard for you to fathom ?

There are some stark and jolting realities that many just dont seem to want to address: We are likely to finish last or next to ( dare I say it..hopefully last as it gives US the choices ) This is the last 'equal 'draft for some time. Some of our players may be press ganged in the future anyway We ARE not in any presnt state of likely to be in order to combat finals with any real chance for a few years.. ; 3-4 is pretty optimistic Quite frankly any talk of such in the next 2 years only shows the proclaimer to hav enot been watching footy of late. We DONT have a great deal of 1st class talent. WE ARE IN REBUILDING !! In business you need to take regular stock of your assetts. Need to evaluate them and arrange them to best effect. You also need to be conversant with the current market and trends ( or you'll get dacked !! ) What is our time frame. Lets say reality suggests we could be fair dinmkum aspirers in say 5 years.. ( for to the ultra optimists ) Now put eh so called "experienced talent " into that equation. Green, Bruce, White and Robbo are well old and out the door most likely. Therefore goinfg forward they are of littel help then !! But now..they have value.. value in trade. Persoanlly Id have happily let Robo go to the dogs when we could have done so..again MFC just dont quite get it. Still water under bridge..and now stagnant. ( wel done MFC ) Even Riv will be 29-30 ish in 4-5 .. debatable value . Do we at last learn teh errors of our past ? Strike while iron is hot. We CAN play without him..we've had to. Players like Sylvia may attract peripheral interest at present.. probably none in 2-3 ( on current form ) Miller would be nearing career end by time we hit a GF.. better value to redeem his currency now in trade ( if poss) Hannabal and others are on to this. The time is NOW for a clean out ( of massive proportions if possible ) We wont be able to turnover al lthat we'd like to, butwe have to attempt to augment our fiuture stocks with trades this year. There is no real next year..all the cherries wil have gone next year. And we are not aloneas other clubs wil realise this dilemma also. This unfortuantely may drive down any value of the "tradables" But just like in business, sometimes you have to have a fire sale to cash up to go buy new to be in the game tomorrow. Otherwise you just have a lot of stuff, on shelves, that no one wants. Its harsh isnt it. So many take this or that player to heart, become lik efamily in some minds. They're players, they're paid. They ought to perform. When your car starts visitng teh garage a bit to ooften, when its costin gyou too much at teh pump, when it doesnt move quick enough any more at teh lights and when its worn out.. you change it dont you. A personal car you tend to hanfg on too longer. In business you f*** it off quick smart because its COSTING you money. Peopel ..you need to view players in exactly the same light..if they arent earning, they are costing. If tehy are transistioning from teh former to teh latter.. trrade them while you can. Now having said all that..pleae review our options folks regarding messrs, Green, Bruce, Rivers, Sylvia, Miller etc You know the old question...where do you see yourself in 5 years time.. apply that to the club..and if some players aren't of much use then... ask..what is their real worth now ? But be honest about it..
-
Trust me..you re not alone by a country mile in that thinking !!
-
Rubbish.. the two event are/can be mutually exclusive. One : the smooth handover.. its not reliant upon ideals.. just process two. what are the plans ii.e platform of the incumbants. What we have here is a deal behind doors !! This is a club where members have voting rights ( for the moment til they find a way to rid them I imagine ..that was the hint of recent survey) So what you could have..is Stynes and Co coming out..and saying..thsi is our plan ..etc etc etc.and we wish an easy transistion. Again..the two things CAN be exclusive. t present..we MEMBERS have no say in it..that pisses me off !!
-
BINGO !!! (well done ) Band higher might be good as you suggest it draws upon our heritage in a fresh approach. Something old..is now something new Importantly for me.. its a FOOTY jumper...not a pajama top!!!
-
Deanox.. Im fully for that. No need to tear limb from limb etc. It just irks me that we, as members, are so irrelevent to any event here. As a mark of respect to us, its members youd think that teh new Board members woul dhave teh decency to inform us of therir designs and intentions. Maybe it is just me.. but it sall too much old boys [censored] here. I do appreciate the paradox there too. we need more of the olid players to get on board... but not in some secret secret hush hush manner. As members we had the opportunity in the past o hear what the various aspirants thought, their plans together with thir skills and energies. This is aquisition by stealth!! As some one once uttered.... " I DON'T LIKE IT !! "

Melbourne Affiliation with Sandy ends this year ...
beelzebub replied to kryton's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wonder if some of the ol' Dandenong diehards ( VFL ) might now pop down to see the Red and Blue -
Im currently sitting on a PC with no real graph package.. sucks.. As an idea..( someone may be able to quickly throw this together ) Take our true Heritage Jumper.. The Blue one with red collar and red bad around mid rift. Now reverse all colours..So its nearly all red. on the front of jumper have a break of the band and insert the MFC logo ( if I can get back to my PC ..I'll kknock this up if someone else hasnt ) cheers I think the deal with the AFL is that the jumper is predominantly red..and that the back is especially.

as an addendum: Obviously means that Casey is all but a very done deal. I await the next announcent. I suppose many wil lament this. Change often brings some dissent. I too liked to pop down to TBO from time to time It was close to an old stamping ground and I felt more than comfortabble in that area. But Im happy to embrace this chnage. i see it as a new beginning. Much is made of our demise ( MFC ) that we olf fuddy duddies. All "traktor" driving cromies looking for the next piste !! . I think that we as supporters and esp the AFL should commend the club for its pragmatism and vision. We arent laying down, we arent accepting that the cards we have spell doom. They wont win us this round but they keep us in the game and thats something. Whats left to say but look out Casey...coz all HELL is about to let loose :D -
Actually there is something to the Jumper Backs. . Often in the speed of play you are just being "visual" It does help to have the backs disimilar. Thats the argument re Ess & Rich...thats why the sashs needed to be bigger to offer a more distinct contrast. On that note Essendon will support us in a predominantly red jumper.. , means they can play their normal jumper.. Is going to be interesting to see what design they now go for. Well done Demonlanders. We actually helped to change this..

Its all lovely isnt it.. we'll all have buttered scones for tea etc etc. But as they say despite a degree of transparency theres nothing to see !! Again..Im not opposed to Jim. I cant be yet. I have no idea what he's on about !! Is it just me that finds this disturbing?

Melbourne Affiliation with Sandy ends this year ...
beelzebub replied to kryton's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well today ends. tomorrow starts. Its an amicable divorce of sorts. Seems to have all been handled with repsect and common sense. To Sandringham. Thankyou. I wish you continued successs beyond 2008.( Not as much as US though...lol ) And so things go forward. The writing for all this was very much on the wall. Seems to now have been read..Well lets al lgo forwards.. long live the Dees -
Lets just seem suitably "surprised" hey ..when they unwrap the new design

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/gard...2258909332.html Wouldnt bother adding to the rumour per se other than this probably has some credibility to it. Its from our love her /hate her Caro !! Thanks for all the good things Paul..well done son..mate..brother....fellow Demon Again.. bloodless coups are all well and good. . A positive..shows stability etc yada yada yada !! A Negative.. well folks..it just slightly miffs this Demon that I stil lhave no idea what teh Synesy ticket represents. I dont like being kept in the dark..Im a bloody paid up member and Id lik eto be kept informed of these things.. None of this fait accomplit [censored] !!. I have no doubt that Jimma is a fore us and not agin us.. but quite frankly the lack of info going forward is just not good enough for me So MFC quit with all the secret squirrel [censored] and come clean. Where are we heading under the new regimme-elect. or ought that be UNELECT !!
-
well that my friends is exactly the point. we arent going to get anything without giving something. So it just depends on whats on offer and if its mutually beneficial. Another good reason to 'trade up" once teh player reaches their peak and starts teh descent. Get max value..dont hang on til days end when they are worth zilch... to anyone !!
-
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...5-19742,00.html The pajamas are dead.. hopefully one of teh above designs gets a look in.. especially .. this bit : "He said the Demons hoped to come up with a jumper with a red base that might appease their fans and still contrast with rivals' home guernseys.

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...5-19742,00.html ITS GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Macca !!

I think its unlikely wed really get anything thats usable in a draft deal or trade without spicing it up..and then as many have already alluded, we weaken the point of the exercise. Still Trade week can be ....."different" We need to take full advantage of this..the last FAIR draft for many years. Somehow !!
