  1. Just curious..as a first timer to the ome I have a question. Is it often as hard to see the Locket end of ground?? whether it was some sort of mist or what but as the sun hit it you ould see bugger all...that seems to go for the players too !! lol as an aside..that was one of the quietest games ive ever been too !!
  2. Other thanBuckley Jonesy is about th eonly bloke who ever considers breaking the lines an runnng forward. I think he just needs better mentoring. Its all there..just jumbled at the moment.
  3. yep..agree. would you use him in part of a trade ?? ( I would )
  4. A simple evalutaon of CM's effectiveness ( not his stats..stats are useless) is that invariably he cant kick to position and Id hate to be on the end of what he lauighingly calls a handpass. His set shots have picked up this year. For a supposedly 'gun' player he he leave a lot to be desired.!!. Id be happy if he rreturned to his brownlow fav days..but I doubt thats going to happen . I think he was hitting above his weight then. We see the real him now. Much in the sane way Hannabal sized up Brocky I think with rose coloured glasses dispensed with folks, you are forced to ajudge Bruce similarly. Id happily se the back of him but we actually need his occasional 'glimpses' now. He can tag well on a good day..at least that!!
  5. good..glad Im not alomne in thinkin gthat ranks amongst teh al ltime DUMB things thi sclub had done. Looked like Brocky was in his Jammies in th elast.. utter joke..and totally counter to the supposed idea ..go figure <_<
  6. Looked very innocent at the time..until he quickly stuck his mit in the air..and thats NEVER good ( Ive avoided adding to too many other threads for this game..as it al ljust sounds like me too and a broken record...but we all do now ( I dont shirk givng this bloke a roast when he deserves but recall thinking at the time thats mighty brave of you Robbo..and then !! ( Just looking at this realistically I really dont want to comment until a med report is in but if it is as bad as sounds..then it ,might really be the end of the road for Roboo. His whole game really is built around taking flight and threading goals; neither of which may come back to anything like 80% let alone 100% He's gone for this year..and its any guess when hed get back to the track. Is unlikley to get a good preseason in. What can I say..it simply doesnt stack up well for him..An utter bugger of a way to go out and that seems our lot this year. Robbo ...I wont wish you a speedy recovery..I'll wish you a GOOD recovery..take your time..and weigh up your options going forward. Think long and hard. edit: oh for the record.. that first kick was one of the dumbest things Ive ever seen!!
  7. hmmm...how strange...seriously. I got the idea it had broader aims.. took me a good 20-25 mins to do it all.. was a bit of reading and comparing
  8. Anyone else do it ? Bit like playing mastermind in reverse !! lol ,Still got me thinking as to what they were trying to establish as benchmarks . what were the given's and what possibilities might come as a result. Given it was done on behalf of the AFL it seems it could give some insight as to what their collective minutae are thinking. These are just some themes that seemd to run through it . Posibility of.. A generally available cheaper membership. Possibly to entice numbers. Some memberships with limited games..but discounts all over the place to various things including other h/a games. Paid public transport in your tickets ( not a big winner for us if there al lbloody sunday !!) Tickets for guests..( quite intereting that one ) but one I didnt particularly like..was a recurring option of memberships without voting rights..call me paranoid !! me thinks more options are coming for season 09. anyone else take anything away from the survey?? just curious
  9. lol...very tongue in cheek !!
  10. My standpoint is simple...always has been. I want the best 22 we can get to have a serious crack at the flag..I really couldnt care, and never have...who they are. Whomever does it ( gets the premiership ) will be the most bloody marvellous group of demons in my supporter life time. If that means trading Bruce, Green Macca.. or Jones I really have no issue with it. What I do have a concern is that the club DOESNT do it when its necessary. Whilst they go out there and play..I'll barrack for them..as I will tomorrow. Doesnt mean I dont have my eye firmly on the only prize that matters.
  11. Shall we get a little rational perspective..Its their job...they get paid for this !! Secondly, an astute management ought to know when to off load a stagnant assett and take what you can to invest in the new .Thats exactly what Hawthorn did. As an astute sage once proffered. " Do, there is no try!!" Whilst much passion is about trying..results are from DOING !!
  12. Am suprised no one posted this before.. Yes theres rumours of the bloodless coup etc. I must admit I dont particularly have any favourites in this regard. I applaud a staunch club man for tipping ( probably ) his hat into the ring. HOWEVER !! I make no besmerchment of th egreat Jimmy...but what does he actually stand for ?? What are his priorites regarding this great club ? What is his vision and what does he hope to achieve ?? Ive heard nothing.. I want to know. I dont hink anyone ought to be a shoe in just because of a reputaion...no one. !! Paul undoubtedly knows his time is comingto an end and he probably relished the idea of seeing his family again. Thanks Paul..you have done quite well under trying circumstances. So what does the great "Jimma" anticipate that his reign might bring ?? Im genuinely intrigued and curious.
  13. ahh. the "spin" games are startig ealier and earlier..lol. All good fun.. You know the old adage.. You have two eyes, two ears and one mouth.. use them in that proportion and order !! Theres going to be a lot of "misinformation" and posturing by folks with hidden and no so discrete agendas between now and teh draft. Remember this is the last even one for a long while !! On that basis..time to trim the fat .. and top up where we can on picks.
  14. me neither !! I think Ben's in more injury related despite anything in the press...we all no how right they get it huh!! lol anyhow..He is a servant of the club..has beeen a good one. Im sure he accpets the coaches decisions without grumbling
  15. There are two things.. one is getting the ball..the second is knowing what to do with it!! lol Its hard to have the opportunity to succeed /[censored] up doing the second if you dont do attain the first!! Sandilands must shake his head at times. Some one like Natanui could be the biggest pain in the proverbial for an opposition coach. Say youre doing ok in the ruck.. so much that the oppo's is geting bogged down and not having too much impact. You can then bring on your 2nd bow ruck put the Ist ( poss Nat ) down the sharp end somewhere and suddenly the opposition has a dynamic it really isnt going to like. One of two thngs happens.. either the floodgates open and the oppo is dead in the water.. or the ruck is too much affected and you swing back to plan A. The thing is ..a big guy with a tank can hurt teams..the other ones that is.
  16. Kerr is apparently happy at WCE and looking to sign long. move along..nothing to see !! lol
  17. Bugger !!!!!!!
  18. thanks for the heads up peoples.. really appreciate it cheers
  19. This guy is not JUST a ruck!! He has a lot of potential. Rest him in the goal square.. kick it in his genral direction.. Whos going to out jump him ??
  20. I think giving your own midfielders 'first option' is highly desirable. The "freak" that is Naitanui might be a big plus in that regard.
  21. without being too facetious.. Google,..and Search..can be your friend!!
  22. dont need to pump his tyres up.. they're self inflating !! lol All discussion have their time.. possibly this one is now. Mine was only for the discussion about a thought. Im not convinced about the other choices for this position..but it did occur to me watching him he had it written al over him. Again only my impression.
  23. I dont mind the odd Sunday game.. and prefer that it starts at 1. can go..get home and stil teh whole evening is there etc. My absolute preference is for Sat arvos. As kids are getting a littel older and I often NOW dont see them so much on a Friday night.. this option is now open to me.. So for me 1..Sat arvo 2..Fri night 3. Sun..early start Id like to see only 2-3 games on a Sunday . Lets share the love huh!! lol
  24. not MCC ..am MFC !! Yes.. I had the feeling it was going to be an expensive day.. daughters are that way...pmsl !! Happ to prebook and print , I hate queues with a vengeance!! lol
  25. Ok...now for something a tad maverick from the Bub.. I was rewatching the game the other night..and a particular thought kept coming back to me whenever I saw Bater with the ball. See who picks where this is going. This lad has poise , control; has footy nouse and a bagful of talent. He also has great maturity for his disarmingly young age and he doesnt get overwhelmed. He backs himself and can control his area. Is it just me or do others seem to feel a lift when he has the ball ? Ok...whos worked it out yet ?? There is a job vacancy at the Dees. Others including myself ( in past ) have thought this or that best suited, but I think one Mathew Bates ought to be seriously considered.
