  1. It does seem as if Jacksons statements are calculated but appear ignorant of recent manouvers by the Dees to shore up its independence and future. He's [censored] stirring..but love to know on behalf of whom
  2. curious ..source ? Thought he came here on a 2 year deal
  3. more in this ?? for sure..Jackson's muck raking.. its just for why Im curious
  4. when was it extended ? was under impression ( stand to be corrected..might even sit.. ) it was up at end of this season
  5. The only thing that Jackson said that held any water is that YES..there is a ground called the MCG...and secondly the Kangas have long term problems !!
  6. which bit of 'reasonable discussion and debate " didnt you quite understand ?? <_< you yourself are highlighting only "an " occasion.. most of us put things into a considered context. I invite you to try that
  7. Are we really any different from any other club or is it simply that we focus on our club for obvious reasons and as such all things seems of more import and effect ??
  8. well put No player is beyond reasonable discussion or debate
  9. If I had a crystal ball.( and I dont unfortunately ) then I would profer the following. ALL ideas towards a third stadium whether utterances out of Demitiou's mouth or allusions from State governement viability studies are simply blinds intended to suggest a pretended leverage. At some stage I suspect whther its behind closed doors or in the public domain ( courts ) the Governemnt via an onbudsman will have all current contracts put aside and a new sheet brought forth , all in the name of public interest. What were seeing now is all a song and dance routine by the involved parties...jockeying for the best seat come 'settlement"
  10. princes park is no longer an AFL ground either
  11. ah yes..kangas 4 cups.. Dees 12 <_< .. no team has a greater heritage than us !! jackson's an idiot without doubt
  12. keep in mind they can only suss out and approach/poach uncontracted players at that time. We will simply need to be sure any required players are sewn up at the Dees !!
  13. well..as an interim to getting Casey up tlo some sought of acceptable spec , and if we're guaranteed a decent purse.. maybe worth a serious ponder. Still prefer the idea of pursuing a sweetheart deal with the MCC..and ideally we develop Casey as a second home ground
  14. if true, bugger seemed to be showing a bit of recent too. Out of contract this seasons end. Will be interesting to see how it all develops I wish Meesen well in his recovery. Time as always will tell whether he remains with us I suppose
  15. 30390 . . . . ^ still creeping up
  16. oh dear.. seems Jackson's suffering Oldtimers !! North is waning...North is still in trouble...their star isnt shimmering quite as it was and the cracks are appearing...yet again. Melbourne is actually in the opposite position..whilst the Kangas are heading down...and for a while I would imaging as they wont get much out of the draft as they bottom out ; bad ( unfortunate ) timing there !! Norths saviours havent quite materialised as promised. The AFL has a real bee in its bonnet and there is revenge on the agenda without doubt I feel. The tyrants that run the AFL are that small minded that they'll extract something in time. Melbourne will emerge from its malaise in the next few years and find its stride. We have absolutely nothinng to gain by merging..and everything to lose. North are going to eventually fold or move I'd suggest. Tough for them but I dont want to ever dilute our persona. The Demon is back and its back for good May I politely suggest to Jackson that he go shove his head up his neverland...oh ..hang on I think it must already be there !!!
  17. Id prefer Cheney too, but simply as he's the future..yes I harp on it...but is the simple truth.
  18. keep in mind theres a difference between meaning it...and expecting it !!
  19. he didnt say its a joke to be a Melbourne supporter, just that we knew how to give and take one
  20. I have a sneaking suspicion that with this years pandomoium and positioning y some clubs to insulate against the drought that there will be some sort of knowk on effect. The extent of which is unknown. However I CAN see some players at various clubs handed a lifeline if for no ther reason as it provides some sort of depth where little may become available. Just a hunch though
  21. Well its pretty true ..I mean after 45 years plus between drinks you have to have developed a realy good sense of humour... or.... well the humour works for me
  22. DD as it happens I tend to agree that PJ is the preferred keeper..and for other reasons the most likely. I look at our list . The likes of Cheney, Grimes, McNamara. Interesting types like Bail. Bennel and Jetta. Maric. Watts to come.. Jurrah eventually.. Strauss and Blease. Spencer and McKenzie. Throw in our stalwarts and there just isnt much room for any NQR let alone some. I keep asking myself which of them ( nqr's ) are redeemable and which aren't. I think with the looming merry go round that will happen as a result of strangled drafts who could be off-loaded ( traded ) for something/anything before use by date ( or before real limits of ability known) Whilst some faith effort and time must be put into all playerssome have already shown possibly and/or probably the extent of their repetoire. Some have mentioned the change in fortunes may be as a result of the new type of game plan instituted by Bailey. Well if thats the case and some of these players arent working out then I can only surmise that teh newer recruits have ben selected as being a probable better fit. So again if some of these nqr's ,21-25's etc arent singing in tune with the maestro you are really left with no alternative other than to exchange them ?
  23. when do you think we will be that competitive to warrant such a costly purchase ?
  24. yes he lookedn inboard...realised no option wheeled around and sent it though...just like that. if you havent played as a forward you mighnt know that they as a lot invariably think (after many many many hours practising ) that they can ping a goal on demand...(well really good ones do ). Its this kind of forward that we have been crying out for..someone who actually knows where the goals are.. Actually if you are any good you can 'sense' where they are as youve built that into yor mindset over the journey. Did you notice he wasnt ovrely surprised ?? Thats not arrogance..just self belief.. (and rare ability ) welcome to Melbourne Jack
  25. can we please stop equating endeavour with ability/effectiveness/results again.. there are those that try...and those that do..lets see if we cant stack a team with doers for a change !!
