Thats not to damn him just not all make it. Hes still on the list as he all but has to be. Still has another year to show his worth. He will find it tougher going to break into the Red and Blue in 2010 than he may have in 09 ( injuries not withstanding )

Cant remember who it was who weeks ago suggested we would not be seeing Ball in red and blue had his sources right. I think the club would indeed like Ball but is cagey on his price and /or conditions. No one player is a panacea and I think the club has refused the siren's seduction. Green has all the attributes for a good forward save one thing...size..imho. Has the nouse, has the kicking and marking but would just ( and has been ) monstered by matchups not in his favour. I do kind of like him as a flanker,,, but I just think his abilities are better used elsewhere. He can play all over..not all players can. He is good at reading play and for mine has often saved a play floating as the extra man across the half back. Bate..I would really like to see Bate develop as a CHF.. has a lot more to offer than Frosty there except whilst ol Miller will always put in 100% for various returns , Bate can be a bit hot and cold. having said that he does seem to be settling. So do you use Matty as CHF and put Miller down back somewhere as a stop gap ? I dont nor ever do see Bate as a mid-mid..more a classic winger if not forward. I think his kick is wasted at FF. He can do what Miller cant.. bomb it deep.. with the likes of Watts, Jurrah , Maric and Wonna ready to pounce there is some bite

well..I think most would agree he would bring something. I think many myself included now dont mind either way. If he wants to try the ND then Id leave him alone as he obviously doesnt want to be a Dee. No ones worth dragging kicking and scratching..no one !! I dont think Collingwoods window is either that clean or that far open personally. They have been lucky and its all going to run out next year they will be found wanting. If Ball does stay with the Sainters he is black-balled and would have to be exceptional to get much game time. Why would he want to move all the way the worlds most remote city to play with a team going up when he can stay put in Vic and acccomplish the same ? Dont really care one way or other any more.. I would have thought he would have made some indication by now and thats more than just a meeting as thats really just going through the motions. because he isnt a real forward.. hes not big enough... if he starts out of the square he will be out muscled ( and has been ) if hes not going to play as a KPp then why bother in the forward line...unless as a flanker with licence to go whereever he likes. Has more value along a wing or across the half back as an extra floater

Well if Ball thinks he only has enough for 2-3 years then personally id pass him by. Bit over all of this already. Probably has all the makings of a really good VFL player at present. Nothing to get excited about. Probably fall off the pile end of next season. Doesnt set the world on fire...and notably couldnt get a game this season when they were all but handing them out. Harsh but realistic

So if Bate ?Watts FF/CHF or vice versa..where fore art thou Miller ? Bate CAN play further up the ground..Miler is lost. If Miller not on the park then Bate at CHF..If he is then on the wing. The year will evolve...people will get injured..its not set in stone Suggest you contain your amazement and consider your own follies

Well all things considered not too bad. Would have preferred a more even approach to Sat and Sun through the season but it could have been , and has been far worse. Bonus not having too many at the Dome ( dont like the dome ) though annual Daddy / daughter will be there <_< When we give them something to think about our exposure on free to air will improve.
