We know he isnt all that keen at all on players who dont want play for the jumper...or that do things in a clandestine manner. If it was intimated in a meet up with Ball that he has no desire then Bails suggested we would back off completely. I agree. What made the Daniher finals sides competitive? I take this to mean that the sides playing in the finals were competitive..... they werent particularly. 2000 possibly the better effort... all to no avail... other years tripping over ourself to fall into finals...only to stumble further without any real solidity. As alluded by another... consistency was lacking lets not get too carried away in purporting we were really that good !!

I dare say you are erroneous in this statement and the assumptions its based upon. We werent competitive.. just a wee bit lucky and that didnt last very long and better teams with superior methods ultimately made us look a little sheepish

short answer...no the idea is to put games into kids... nothing gained by re-employing Robbo. Theres a longer term strategy in place than the next season or two.

Im not personally keen on putting Davey in a pocket... far too limiting..( for mine ) is more a position for a crumber. Yes Davey can crumb but hes so much more. Davey on either or any of the flanks works fine for me depending upon the balance of the game . Maric or Wonna are better suited to the pockets. I really dont see Maric as a higher caliber mid.. but a very lethal forward.. The game has evolved so that really other than the FF..CHF..CHB FB and possibly the inclusion of respective pockets all other positions are somewhat fluid ( as is the game ) The game will also dictate whether your floaters are front or back...but your position on run throughs caters to this. As the game is now far more posessional than positional the notion of positions is all but for the team sheet... Bit like notes after a meeting...invariably useless after 5 mins !! :D

Having said that he is amongst our best run-withs..( when and if fit ) I can see him either playing tag roles or spending some time on the pine. He will need to be managed well. Bails is all about getting games into them..only one way to do that.
