  1. Jordan McMahon for MFC life membership I liked the bit where he coached the 11's.. seems this guy really knows his footy as well as playing it..A good head Trengove and Scully seem just so much further along than the rest...and Trengove I think is more accomplished ( to date ) He almost sounds like a future captain the way they effuse !! Cant wait to see him in Red and Blue ( a very dark blue )
  2. thats my quandary...however i see the whole side evolving over the next few years and there will be some surprises as to where some find a home on the paddock. He has something.. not sure what but has a menacing quality about him. One of a handful im looking to see big strides. Bit of an enigma ..a lot of promise.
  3. Well...oh Danny boy...time to show us the real stuff.. Time to step up to the plate. Simple as that.. Injury concerns are that but either you can..or you cant...Now is the time
  4. hmm..lets see.. we advertised the School for sale..and had three takers ( seiously..got into a little trouble on that one ) Charged the staff to park their cars.. one resused so we picked it up (mini) and side parked it ( Jamned in lol ) Took over the PA.. mini bike races around the oval.. Pool party in well..the pool..lol. Had Spanish Inquisistion type interuptions to classes.. Jungle roped all the stairs... completely swapped two rooms..that seriously played with the tiny mind of the brutal sadistic French teacher ( classic ) Redecorated a Maths room with row boat from playground.. fishing nets and 2000 reject tennis ball...as all we ever heard was his @#$%ing fishing and tennis stories !! there was more...but... well.. We also signed up the Principal to a dozen mag subscriptions Flew a KKK flag ..as we renamed school Keiths Kollege of Knowledge ( funny he didnt see the humour in that )..and managed to become the first and only 6th form to have our Valedictory cancelled.. egg throwing pfftttttttttt.... how p!ssweak
  5. does rather change the dynamics of things earliest pick for the Lions is 27 in ND
  6. poor Brisbane ??? Stupid Brisbane... what ..they didnt bother to find out exactly what happened..even when it was all but plastered over the net. No one thought to ask the AFL ?? Being so massively hasty to get Fev...they forgot to engage their brains. Fancy allowing this to occur with Bradshaw. poor Brisbane ?? DUMB BRISBANE !!
  7. Sure seems like Matty is coming along fine, each season stepping up a bit. Can see no reason why this wont continue. Good efforts from Warnock:)
  8. Im not thinking we would go after anyone really...other than Ball in the PSD..... but if McDonald was still there at 18 or even 34.. would you ?? Am more thinking a handful of other clubs might have to revise their thinkings.
  9. DD am not expecting all ..or even half..or a quarter even really to get recycled through the ND..but its a lot more than would occur in other years via the PSD. I can only presume that this will have some sort of knock on effect. Many pundits dont really expect all clubs to go past the third round with less taken in the draft than many other years. Im just pondering the notion that with other bodies now included with maybe something to offer ( as some runs possibly on the board, as opposed none for newbee draftees) that those clubs not looking to an entire rebuild but trying to pick the carcass of the draft, that some kids who might have just snuck through might get bumped. Until the mass delistings of this week this might not have been apparent. Youd think Hooper McDonald Tenace, Coughlan ( even ) would get a look in... Buckley might.. even Valenti might appeal ahead of others at say around pick 50 etc.. If some clubs are looking at a little depth ..if even of so -so quality but just enough to get them through to next year and weigh it up again then this draft might prove very entertaining. the point being...normally drafts are just that..pure and unsullied..and you do your homework and takes your chances etc.. This year its a smaller pool and its tainted with interlopers..A new team looms ..actually 2. A very different thing from past years.
  10. do you also have pocket inserts..and wear plaid ? Honestly...whilst that logo was good in its era...as there were some equally 'good' ones at other clubs in this day and age there is no edge to it. about as interesting as offering up a 180B instead of a 370Z !! chalk and cheese
  11. not bad !!!!
  12. The one thing that seems to remain constant about drafts over the years is that seldom does everything go according to expectations. There will be some surprises and opportunities this year that will be unforecast. Whether thats there for us to snaffle is another thing entirely. The knock on effect that is caused by one change of predicted ( expected by a club ) pick can always throw up chances We have 2 relatively un-locked picks at present..ought to be interesting
  13. I have to admit what strikes me as curious is that many see no effect to the ND as a result of delisted players nominating and yet the absolute reverse ( as of this posting ) is reflected in q3 with as many suggesting these delisted players WILL now see opportunities ( in the draft ) To me thats contradictory. I would have thought that as more ( delisted players ) may indeed get picked up in the ND , a chance not previously available , that this categorically DOES affect the ND. It would suggest that the recycled players may get picked up and in so either delay the selction , further down list of the newbee prospects or in some cases deprive them of being picked up at all. ( this year ) In short I expect an effect.. The looming GC seems to be permeating the thinkings of many clubs in ways I hadnt considered.
  14. please..cheap snipes add nothing...just like your post have you actually anything to add..otherwise etc.. you know if you have nothing to actually say...do just that !! As some seem to feel its a warranted thread ..shown by their participation... possibly you might care to as well.
  15. Not everyone needs a booming Wheaters of a kick. Be more than happy if he kicks 25-30 (or more ) from within 30-40
  16. Hard to find the wheat amongst the chaff isnt it
  17. Im just a wee bit curious as to how the ND might pan out now. On first glance its not a draft as were used to. The youngens are missing ensnared by the Pied Piper of GC. The pickings arent as good as you get further into the draft by some thinkings.. others view it not so much as lack of depth but of quality past around 15. there are a number of views you can subscribe to. In recent days an avalanche of players have been delisted. Some were always going to be but there are more than a number of disgruntled and miffed as seemingly ok carreers have been cast to the winds. Only so may are singular in their choice of ongoing homes. They will go via the PSd . This leaves more than a dozen fairly competent players to look afar in some manner if to continue their AFL playing days. Herein lays he interest. There would have to be more than a few who would provide better value as later 2nd round and 3rd round picks than some of the draft prosepcts. previously the ex-team players would have only the PSd available to reenter the fray...this year the rules have changed. We always thought this draft was going to be a tad different...now I think it may well become VERY different. Some clubs who previously may have thought to only select as far as X may well now rethink and look towards Y etc. This in turn might throw a few more players into the mix..and so it goes on. The question then is ... will delisted players affect the draft demonstrably..or not ?
  18. actually what is the deadline for delistings? I used to hink there was actually two points in time. one prior to the draft and one subsequent to it before the PSd.. but must confess Im a little confused now.cant seem to get a clear indication via the AFL site.
  19. all things are possible I suppose. I cant see the club geting too carried away with desparation to retain his services.
  20. You almost can be forgivenfor the way a lot of Melbourne supporters view their team. we've been rather lacklustre and underperformers for decades. without any real success to hang a hat on , supporters as a group have internalised their focus and derive their satisfaction from 'efforts' and the tryings of players. Its almost chummy in that fashion. . A bit like "yeh mate anothter crap game/season/year ( you choose ) but ya love the jumper right !!" Other teams have looked bemused as they passed us by, seeming more preoccupied with the romance of the game than any steely determination to exact the greatest reward. And so the heavy hearts lament the leaving of anyone who's had a bash in red and blue. We cant lose focus, these players simply didnt make the grade, unfortunate for them in that they leave, unfortunate for us in that we still look for those that will. The process continues and probably always will. Ommelettes..cracked eggs.... ah but they were such great eggs !!!
  21. Aaron recaptured a lot of his early zest for the game. Many ,myself included, had lamented his form fall offs over the years and am only too happy to see his game revitalised. The test will now be having re-signed to premium rewards that he can not only sutain these efforts but build upon them. I really think the best of Davey is yet to come. Surrounded by complemetary talent to feed and feed off I think he ought to light up games for some time to come.
  22. or Carlton.... apparently they are collecting a set
  23. Sean's being very kind I feel. . Not really showing anything this lad. Time for a change
