It's just not a priority... That's about the long and short of it. Pass

yes...aware of the letter of eight, so to speak. Also aware via same media that its very much a convoluted fiction as an atempt to wriggle out of a contract. Initially Brisbane dance the dance of the high morality suggesting breaches left right and centre and then announce they are all but looking to off load him irregardless of any findings as to the authenticity of these supposed and and alleged trangressions. read between lines they want him gone guilty or not. And if he's not guilty of whats been reported they'll introduce more and more trivilaities until they feel they have a dubious case. This not about Fev being good or bad...just whether hes gone or not. (who ever thought we'd be all but defending fev on this site..lol )

Part of my thinking about a young supporter Renaissance revolves around the notion that for decades it was, well of kind , very unfashionable to follow Melbourne let alone start a career of supporting us.. Schoolyard lugging stocks etc. But it's almost downright cool to wear red and blue at school now . The likes of jurrah davey scully etc are inspirational. Kids doing "jurrah's" !!! This and some decent press all adds to the thinking of developing minds. I'm sure the club is observant of this and will hopefully exploit any avenues of securing these kids as Dees .

Red it's not that looney an idea in principle. It's just theres so much that could go south. He'd be that perfect fit as as stay at home forward ... Price would be good I agree but as others already suggest the risk of negatvie cultural influence is the big negative. Like your lateral approach though

You just can't help but suspect there is a faceless coterie with knives and an agenda . Fev probably never helps his cause much but there's an odour of week old mackerel about some of this. Brisbane looking for a fall guy me thinks

Axis's summation is pretty close for mine. And still I temper it with for want of a better word similar misgivings as viewed by Rhino etc . I just wonder if he can step up again. Has he hit his bar ? With the limes of Tapscott etc still to come through has he (jones) enough strings to his bow ? Reminds me in a fashion of Miller in that you really can't ask for any more heart or endeavour ... It's just the results. Jones has had to change his game this year and might just become more polished and effective in it come next season . Hope he does as has a lot to give... The risk of being eclipsed is real though ... Only time will tell

It will be a stronger, more confident and more settled Watts that will take to the paddock next season. It now will be a case of Watts realizing he does indeed belong and deiiver as per his abilty. He'll step up

Just listening to SEN and a caller mentioned off-handedly his young son had jumped on board the Dees . How great is this. Noticed too in local paper had pic with kids jumpered up for 'footy' day and there was a proud young girl in her Melbourne guernsey ! Doesn't seem all that long ago seeing red and blue in schoolyards was a rarity. Who else is noticing this kiddy ground-swell ?
-
be very interesting to see how it compares to the Bluey
-
Quite frankly rather none played. Lets keep injuries to a minimum pre season

I dare say Hanneberry will get it. Scully's been good...very good but also a few lesser days...as have they all. Hanneberry's game has a bit more flash to it..he often gets to finish work ..not just start and link it. They are different players..simple as that really. I think as Tom's finishing improves he will have a much 'bigger' game effect than Hanneberry but at present its probably fitting the Swan pips him over the line.

cant imagine why !!! but thats all right....we dont like Essendon that much either.. ( sorry Ash exceptions )

What is the future for Bate, Cheney & Mcnamara?
beelzebub replied to Don24's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bate has all the ingredients for a really good forward 50 player .. Not elite but very handy. To date he either hasn't the right recipe or not cooking right . He might surprise and do a Jamar... We could only wish .... Or he risks over trying many's patience . A good preseason and it's at his feet. Good luck Bater -
What is the future for Bate, Cheney & Mcnamara?
beelzebub replied to Don24's topic in Melbourne Demons
Correct !! Cheney may luck out with some more perseverance .T Mac needs to cross all fingers and toes . Bate need look no further than Millers future if his game doest pick up and solidify .. Currently a prime candidate for senior NQR ( @afl level) -
Jones had indeed improved but still not there... Close. . Decisions are better... Another step up again next year would be great . I agree what exactly IS Daveys actual posi ? Will depend on role for the day. Bail .. Definitely a find is a little kind to some players but a fair assessment me thinks
-
Well let's see how the annual fun aka the coaches merry go round pans out !!! He would seem to have fine credentials
-
ok...lets look at this another way... Is it the quality of some decisions and the inability of some players ( whtether by opportunity, ability, experience ) to spot the better player ? its a lot easier for us sitting 4 , 5, 15 rows up to see teh obvious play downfield...not so easy out there. Maybe the drills arent exploring where some players prefver ...or are able to go. either way at many times player A IS ignoring B

Re op does a bear sh!t in the woods !! Silly season officially started it seems

I don't know ... Not convinced this is a true documentary as much as self serving spin doctoring and persona reinvention. Can't help but think even ol Sammy might just be closer to the truth about how this ought to be viewed . Not taking anything away from the impact on his famy and all assoc but this just doesn't all ring fair dinkum to me. Bens a lot smarter than given credit despite having travelled the dumb path of a druggy. Don't have much tolerance for drugs, idiots etc. He had choices ... Many don't. If this had been a little less about the image and more about the harrow then I might be more convinced. Still smacks (npi) of look at me look at me. Cunning as a street rat. .. dumb as a bunny. Needed to be less about the show ..... More about the snow... And why you shouldn't . 3/10 ch 7
-
Probably a lot closer to the truth than much else. Maybe not to begin with as a few have been told by the Lions to look elsewhere if bigger bucks were desired so this could be much a game of brinkmanship as anything else. as to interest....not much for me.
-
Id agree that hes probably really worth a one year deal only...however if he was offerd two years elsewhere buyt happy to stay on less boxes of cornflakes then its a consideration of some worth. Otherwise.. yep.. buy him lots of Coppertone

Ok ...I'll bring you up to speed... Im one of those that hadnt been particularly carried away with Bruces performances of some past seasons...so YES a return to some form for mine. Couldnt care less about finishes in B and Fs etc. that can get all very incestuous and clouds some otherwise impartial observations. But in the spirit of your view...hes been a bit closer to maybe 7-8 years back...rather than 2-3 !!

If indeed he's offered the big dollars to head north then it's good luck Cam enjoy the sun never mind the door mate we'll close it. Simple as. ... Really
